My guess:

It was sold to the Kurdish organization in Northern Iraq, some terrorist groups, some dictators in Africa. I wouldn't even be surprised if it was sold to North Korea.

Syria May Ask Russian Troops to Leave Qamishli Airfield

The transitional Syrian government may ask Russian troops to leave one of Russia's three bases in Syria – the Qamishli airfield in the north of the country, to which Moscow has had access since 2019. A Syrian source familiar with the situation told Kommersant this.

Negotiations on this issue could begin after Hasakah Province, where Qamishli is located, is transferred from Kurdish control to the central government, the source said. "I think the Russians will be asked to leave Qamishli completely. They have no business there now," the Kommersant source said.

The United States, which maintained a military presence in northeastern Syria, has also scaled back its mission, abandoning further support for the Kurdish side, the Syrian source noted.

I‘d be really proud if MIT has done this! We should do more of such Israeli style cleansing. By this occasion, I must congratulate Fidan and Kalin for the amazing work they did in Syria (I dont think Sharaa did it alone). It is rare to get a praise from me as I am usually very critical but this time they deserve it.

Interesting how Russia will respond.

After the Israeli bombing of Assad's abandoned military installations, the Russians were offered the opportunity to move their bases to the south of the country and place them opposite Israeli positions if they wished to remain in Syria.
But they are bored there, in the south, far from the sea.

They dream of using the Alawites to foment unrest in Latakia and then staying there. The Russians are whispering with Israel about separating the Alawites from Syria and creating... a People's Republic of Latakia, similar to Ukraine's Donbas.
They are biding their time.

But judging by events in Syria, it seems they will never get such an opportunity.
The Russians are very angry No, no, not at Sharaa, but at Erdogan. They understand perfectly well who plays first violin in the Syrian orchestra

Let's look at the situation: There is no massive army. Those massive arms delivery should have been able to equip a huge army. My amateur estimation is they have 3-5k competent core and about 15-30k subpar militia.

Oil revenue alone should have been sufficient to establish a patronage network. They didn't even bother to bribe tribes! If they bought off some tribes they would still have the eastern bank of Euphrates. They thought US Air Force was a permanent fixture in their repertoire.

Then there is the luxury tunnels. I truly believe some of those were personal pleasure harems for higher up 'kadro' assholes. Reminder that they forcibly recruited underage girls.

I believe there was massive corruption and CENTCOM was complicit, at least in part. Maybe they wanted to convert lawfully procured equipment to black funds. Certainly explains why they were so enamoured with "da Currds". But a considerable amount also went to tunnels, which are by definition 'military secrets' and a domain that is open to corruption. That was how PKK chiefs got their share. They established a subpar police service (Asayish), a tacticool spec-ops (YAT) and maybe a few battalions worth of subpar motorized infantry.

Entire SDF was a fucking con.

I have no doubts that most of the funds the americans gave them towards the YPG were also probably pocketed by key figures. At the end of the day its a narco-terrorist organisation.
