But if he is insinuating a scramjet engine powered a2a missile, then it Is a different story altogether. We are not there yet. First we need to get our ramjet powered Gökhan flying.

That’s what I was thinking too. He talks about hypersonic missile when we don’t even have a ramjet one yet.

Gökhan ramjet missile ground-based launch tests will start this year.
Any news on the Karaok missile?Last thing said was that it passed tests and its ready for serial production 6-7 months ago and nothing was heard ever since.

Range of TOLUN-IIR guided ammunition revealed

The features of the TOLUN IIR-infrared seeker-head guided ammunition developed by ASELSAN were announced. In this context, the Infrared Seeker Guided Ammunition TOLUN-IIR can be launched from the air platform via the Multiple Transport Area (SADAK-4T). The ammunition in question has integrated KKS/ANS/IIR guidance, which can be used against moving and soft land targets, and two-way communication and man in the loop shooting mode.

TOLUN-IIR, with SADAK-4T, has 4 particle-effect warheads that can be carried in one station of the aircraft and is effective against targets at a range of 43 NM with its opening wings. Additionally, the ammunition is resistant to GNSS jamming thanks to the CRPA AntiJam antenna. The wings, which were closed before being released from the aircraft, open after a while and provide the necessary aerodynamic lift for the longest range. TOLUN IIR can be used effectively in the destruction of strategic targets with its ability to hit the desired target with high precision.

Thanks to the data link pod and the data link, two-way communication can be established between the post-shot platform and the ammunition. In this architecture, the image signal produced by the Infrared Seeker is transferred to the cockpit over the data link in the ammunition and simultaneously the commands produced by the pilot are transmitted to the ammunition. Thus, the target can be selected precisely and updated again in pilot-controlled mode.

Technicial Specifications

Range : 43 NM (80 km)
Altitude : 40,000 ft (MSL)
CEP : < 3 meters
Guidance : GPS / INS / IIR
Target Type: Fixed and Moving Targets

Physical Properties

Weight : 120 kg
Diameter : 18.5 cm
Length : 180 cm

So, theoretically, we can slap 8 of these beauties on Akıncı and still have about 500 kg of payload capacity left? Nice:sneaky:

Does Aselsan's development of this ammunition create duplication? Considering that Sage is developing Kuzgun

I wonder how they're faring with IIR guidance. It's a tough nut to crack and multiple missile projects depend on it.

Non IIR version is already on par with normal SDB.
I was hoping so, but iirc I read in a Aselsan borchure Miniature bomb has maximum CEP of 15m, while SDB has CEP of 5-8m.
Hopefully aselsan will improve it gradually.

I am pretty sure CEP is less than 3 meters.

Well, I just wrote only what I read in Aselsan’s borchure.

It is known that in live firing, smart ammunitions do better than officially stated maximum CEP.

I actually saw that video before.
But it should be noted, single firings does not properly demonstrate CEP.

It requires multiples firing on the same target simultaneously or within short period of time to get a better idea.

Gökhan will be tested this year ! Check this out !
Yeah, last year he also said it in an interview.
I am so waiting for them to reveal it in IDEF 2023.
