Hope there is work being done on double missile rail for AAM.

The Sadak-2Mk weighs 130kg and developed for MK-82/83 type smart guided munitions. In other words, when we consider it with 82 series guidance kits, the total weight of the pylon is around 680kg (1500 lb). The system brochure also states that it will be certified for UAVs.

Recently, we have seen the firing tests of the smart pneumatic quad rack from Akıncı. The weight of the Quad rack placed on Akıncı is probably around 150-170 kg and the total weight with 4 miniature bombs Tolun is around 730kg (1600lb) per pylon.

These are things we all already know, but the reason why I draw attention to this issue is that while we are moving towards such heavy weapon stations and multiple ammunition carrying capacity for AKINCI, I do not think that the maximum ordnance lifting capacity of the system will remain within the limits written in the spec brochures. In this respect, one of the main issues shaping my thoughts on AKINCI-C is the studies I mentioned.

For example, an AKINCI-C (Lets say 4 Tolun MB and 2+2 Teber-82) carrying a quad rack under the fuselage and two twin-racks on the main pylons between the fuselage and the engine, with only these three stations, the weapon load exceeds 2 tons.

The Mini Intelligent Ammunition – MAM family (MAM-C and MAM-L) developed by Roketsan for SİHAs by Conflict Armament Research – CAR (Conflict Armament Research), which was founded in 2011 and supported by different countries in the world, especially the European Union and various member countries. ) report was prepared .
In the report, which is directly accused of "invaders" regarding the regions where Turkey intervened with the Peace Spring Operation in Syria, it is stated that CAR teams visited Syria eight times. In the report, which stated that 17 attacks carried out by Turkey were physically examined, it was emphasized that the MAM family included various components purchased from abroad, but none of them were critical components that were not seen within the scope of export control.

The report states that the munitions examined by CAR were produced between December 2020 and May 2021. While it is stated that the ammunition is identified through the fins, CAR explains that the MAM-L was used in 8 of the 17 attacks, but it is not known which of the MAM-T or MAM-L ammunition was used in the other attacks. However, considering that the MAM-T was tested in April 2021, it can be argued that none of the munitions examined by CAR were MAM-T.

Components in subsystems​

Electromagnetic brakes in the actuator that controls the fins of the missile are the most emphasized subject in the report. It is stated that there are 24 electromagnetic brakes in 10 of the 17 attack areas examined. The brakes produced by the Netherlands-based Kendrion NV are sold to FEMSAN in Turkey. CAR shared the information that the Dutch company helped with the tracking of the manufactured products and delivered 261 brakes to FEMSAN in 2016 and 400 in 2017. According to the report, while 4948 brakes were delivered by the Dutch company in 2020, a total of 820 brakes were delivered until the date CAR reached the Dutch company in 2021. In the statement made by Kendion to CAR, it was stated that FEMSAN shared the information that the products would be used for civilian purposes and that products were sold for this purpose.
Kendrion has temporarily suspended deliveries of other scheduled items after receiving information from CAR and being warned a second time in 2021. It also asked FEMSAN to sign an end-user declaration of conformity. FEMSAN, in its statement to CAR, stated that the brakes were supplied between 2018 and 2021, an end-user agreement was signed in 2021, no agreement was signed before this date and no action was taken .

Another component highlighted in the report is the gyroscope developed by Analog Devices. It is used as part of the Inertial Navigation System used to guide the missile. While this issue is not emphasized much in the report, it is shared that Analog Devices company's products are also found in different geographies such as Yemen.

Criticisms and reflections​

While it is stated at the beginning of the report that Turkey is described as an “invader” and that the operation was carried out against “Kurdish” elements, the issue of the fight against terrorism is not mentioned at all. Despite the accusatory prejudices against Turkey, the report states that critical components were developed by Turkey and/or do not contain a critical component subject to export control.
CAR previously prepared similar reports for the drones used by DAESH and the unmanned aerial vehicles used by Iran in Yemen, and stated that these products also contain electronics of western origin. As a matter of fact , a large number of western subsystems and components, especially US Texas Instruments, were detected in .
Today, even an ammunition has parts in them. Especially in the light of costs, the use of COTS (Commercial off-the-shelf) products that are ready for commercial use is often seen in non-critical components. While there is no problem in this respect in the ready supply of the components mentioned in the report, Turkey's exposure to accusations of "not complying with the agreements" lays the groundwork for other Turkish companies to have problems in the supply of COTS products. Therefore, our companies need to be more careful while making such purchases and manage official agreements and documents accordingly.

Similar to what China is doing, I think Turkiye will stop purchasing vital products such as agriculture, medicine and health supplies from the West within 20 years. Stopping buying western weapons was only the first step. The continuation of this policy will certainly come in the fields of health and agriculture, which are other vital areas. You cannot guarantee your existence with the products of those who are hostile to you.

around 12 meter ??? 😈
MRBM, means something between 800km-5000km. If we look at estimated diameter and length. Which range can we expect? Lets assume of 12m length and up to 1m diameter. Could reach +1500km.

If this is cenk and it is a mrbm, we should have improved ourselves a lot especially in fuel technology and materials engineering.
