We need to have high productiin capacity of these.

Are there any digital lock on theee that’ll hinder them from being stolen and/or used against our own ?

ATMACA Anti-Ship Missile was fired from BARBAROS Coastal Defense System.

Has there been any news about the land version of Atmaca lately?
Was this what you were looking for?

guess the question is about the green(Land forces) one and most probably they are working on the seeker(s)... Same can be said for ÇAKIR IIR and Hybrid seekers...

That's Atmaca on Barbaros Coastal Defence System, not Kara Atmaca, which is supposed to bigger, heavier and with IIR guidance. I don't think we've seen it yet.

I do hope they change or modify the name tho. It is confusing.

Actually, it's not confusing when you get into the details. Because one is from land to land and the other is from land to sea. Their attack profiles are very different. I was surprised when I heard the land-based Atmaca. The other is already a classic medium-range cruise missile.

This is our first surface-to-surface cruise missile project. Therefore, familiarity with the project is weak. So give it some time to sink in people's minds.

I mean you just mistook Kara Atmaca for Barbaros CDS :D I'm fine with calling land based Atmaca batteries as just Barbaros CDS. Kara Atmaca is more than a Harpoon with land attack capability. The difference is more similar to that of Harpoon and SLAM-ER. So I think it does warrant a new name that is different than Atmaca.

Operationally and doctrinally Barbaros and Kara Atmaca is of course very different. Organizationally as well, Barbaros will be delivered to the navy, while army is the customer for Kara Atmaca. Cruise missiles for army will be a force multiplier. Maybe army changes the name and navy only refers it as Barbaros for the land based variant.

Some French man got himself a Javelin missile and disassembled it for all to see.
Bet you can use a 2nd hand smartphone to replicate the functionality of all of those chips, and it would perform better too.

@boredaf @Siper>MMU

Why not? Its all DAC's and DSP's and image signal processing chips running an algorithm. Even the phones from early 10's have more capable SoC's running those tasks better than these.

Hell, I remember reading about NASA sending modified Google Nexus phones as satellites into space.

You gather the phones, jailbreak them, tear them down, assemble the rest of the hardware around (IIR seeker, etc.) and go to town!

Granted, it is not an elegant solution. You can't possibly export this as a product in any credible capacity. It is something to do when literally everything else is impossible and you're in dire straits as a nation. But it is doable and possible. And that's the main point of my argument.

Off topics moved to relevant thread.

Guys, be aware that we also have a dedicated Air Defence thread. When regarding air defence developments please continue the discussion there.

Thank you!

I remember my first beer as well mate, but I think you should really go easy.
Your first beer must not have been long ago. That Javelin was made in the 80s. Today, all those circuit boards combined could be implemented on a single chip.
