A reminder:

INS Dhruv & all its sensors have been fully operationalized, meaning very accurate data was probably gathered from the MIRVs' individual trajectories & splashdowns in IOR.

So did the chinese...I'm sure they planted moles in all DRDO departments

The whereabouts of these ships aren't secret - they are publicly known. Let alone the Navy's knowledge.

There's a reason we scheduled the test now. We want them to see.

How do you build deterrence if your opponent has no knowledge of the credibility of your capabilities?

Did you know the Soviets & Americans used to test their SLBMs from zones which they knew the other could gather data so that they are appraised of each others' nuclear capabilities? This is standard practice.

When the Chinese do a test, you can bet INS Dhruv will be lurking in the SCS/ECS.

"The United States and India share a vision for an Indo-Pacific region that is free, open, secure, and prosperous. We continue to work as partners with India and with other countries in the region to achieve this vision," the US State Department said in a statement to ANI.

The State Department was replying to questions regarding the significance of the test on the stability of the Indo-Pacific region.

Agni-Prime tested again:

Apparently this was the last pre-induction trial. The Strategic Forces Command (SFC) was hands-on with this test.

So it seems the the MRBM-class deterrence delivery system intended toward Pakistan is set for a generational leap. The deterrence against Pakistan was till now being served by the old Agni-1 and Agni-2 MRBMs developed in the 80s and 90s respectively. They will be retired & replaced by something far better - being lighter, smaller, having more advanced penetration aids & of course a very high degree of maneuverability both inside & outside the atmosphere thanks to DACS + Fins.

Of course by the time it's inducted it'll probably receive a new designation...the 'Prime' label is always intended only for the Tech-Demo/testing phase.

Also, it seems SFC has determined that a MIRV bus is unnecessary for the deterrence equation toward Pakistan. So I wouldn't be surprised if the MIRVs will be limited to IRBMs & above.

Just MaRVs for Pakistan.

IA inducted and deployed a few of these during Galwan clash albeit with a Russian engine. Do you think we're now ready to induct this version?

What's the need to assume anything?

When it completes testing & enters service, they'll announce it.

So that we're prepared well beforehand and not running around like headless chickens with the typical drama of emergency procurements paying 5-10x the cost

I'm saying what's the need to ask me for my assumption on the status of the program?

I believe that's how forums work. You can make statements, assumptions, post legit verified news, rumors, speculations, opinions, ask questions, follow-ups etc

It's up to the other person to respond or not

Well, I have no information on that, sorry.

There's no public timeline on road to full-scale production yet. Even if there was, it was unlikely to have been adhered to, so there's that.

Indian Navy to get next-gen Brahmos missiles from 2027; $212 million deal inked

India announced a deal with Brahmos Aerospace Private Limited (BAPL), an Indo-Russian joint venture firm, to procure Next Generation Brahmos Maritime Mobile Coastal Batteries Long Range (NGMMCB LR) and Brahmos missiles. The deal has been finalised at a cost of over ₹1700 Crore or nearly $212 million.

These sea-shore based systems will be equipped with the Brahmos supersonic cruise missiles and are aimed to significantly enhance the multi-directional maritime strike capability of India's naval forces.

This project is poised to generate employment opportunities for more than 90,000 human-days over a period of four years.

Notably, a majority of the equipment and sub-systems for this order will be sourced from Indian industries and indigenous manufacturers. The delivery of these systems is expected to commence from 2027, an official statement said.
Atul Dinkar Rane, CEO and MD, Brahmos Aerospace had recently told WION that the Brahmos missile is now 80 per cent indigenous, a giant leap from the initial years (2004), when the missile was barely 13 per cent indigenous. After Brahmos Aerospace bagged a $375 million agreement with Philippines, the firm is now in serious talks with South East Asian and West Asian countries, Rane had said.

When asked about the impact of the Ukraine-Russia war on the production of Brahmos missiles, he said that the pandemic and the war had caused some small roadblocks, but there were no major issues. Her also mentioned that Brahmos has a full order book until the year 2031.
A major component of the Brahmos missile is its sophisticated Ramjet engine which is the only Russian-origin component in the missile's current configuration. India is now working with Russia, with the aim of making that engine indigenously, Rane had added.

Interesting...

So as per this the firepower element of the Integrated Rocket Forces will be chiefly based around four platforms:

1) BrahMos Block-II/Block-III/ER -- 290 to 800 km range; Ramjet
2) Nirbhay/ITCM/LRLACM -- 1000 km range; Turbofan
3) Pralay -- 500 km range; Solid rocket
4) ??? -- 1500km range; Solid Rocket?

I'm not sure as to what 1,500-km class ballistic missile is in development? Can't be the Agni-Prime as that's a strategic platform, not tactical.

Perhaps a ground-launched land-attack version of this, maybe:
