7 people who were determined to have sold information to MOSSAD were caught
According to information received from security sources, an operation was carried out by MİT and Istanbul Police Department Anti-Terrorism Branch teams against the suspects who allegedly sold the information they obtained to MOSSAD.
During the operation, 7 suspects were detained. It was determined that one of the suspects was Hamza Turhan Ayberk, a former public servant who participated in morning programs on television, and that MOSSAD contacted Ayberk through his agent codenamed "Victoria".
MİT determined that Ayberk, who was said to be a private detective, was leaking information to MOSSAD in return for money.
It was understood that Ayberk, who was found to have formed a team of people, including public officials, to provide information to MOSSAD, compiled information about Middle Eastern people and companies in Turkey upon the instructions he received.
Used secret communication applications
Ayberk, who was learned to have received training from MOSSAD in Belgrade in 2019 regarding the work to be done, was first used by the Israeli secret service for simple jobs.
While Hamza Turhan Ayberk used secret communication applications under the guidance of MOSSAD, he also received payments in cryptocurrencies so that they would not be reflected in official records.
It was learned that Ayberk, who not only leaked information but also carried out threats and follow-up actions, instantly transferred the locations of his target people to MOSSAD with the tracking device he placed in their vehicles, harassed these people and made threats from time to time.
Statement from Minister of Internal Affairs Yerlikaya
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya, in his statement on his social media account, reminded that 7 suspects were captured in the "Operation Mole-2", which was organized simultaneously in Istanbul against Israeli intelligence elements to detect and decipher international espionage activities.
"We will never allow espionage activities to be carried out within the borders of our country. We will catch them one by one and bring them to justice," Yerlikaya said in his statement.
"In the joint operation carried out by the TEM and Intelligence Branch Directorates of the Istanbul Provincial Police Department, under the coordination of MİT and EGM Intelligence Directorate, 7 suspects were identified as compiling information about individuals and companies in Turkey, targeted by the Israeli Intelligence Service, and transferring the information and documents they collected to Israeli Intelligence elements. As a result of the operation, unlicensed guns, various amounts of drugs, electronic devices used to detect listening devices, and a large number of digital materials, documents and currency were seized.
I congratulate our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, MİT members and police. May God not let a stone touch your feet. Our nation's prayers are with you."
