DCNS Sylver Vertical Launching System (VLS)
The Sylver (SYstème de Lancement VERtical) is a vertical launching system (VLS) designed by DCNS. The launcher comes in several variants, each distinguished by their height. A-35 and A-43 were developed for launching short range surface-to-air missiles, the A-50 for the long-range PAAMS air defense system, and the A-70 launcher for larger missiles such as the SCALP Naval land attack cruise missile. The numbers refer to the approximate length of the missile which can be accommodated, in decimetres, i.e. the A-43 can hold missiles which are up to 4.3 metres long whilst the A-70 can accommodate missiles up to 7 metres long.

The launchers come in eight-cell modules, except A-35 available in four-cell modules, with each eight-cell module occupying six square metres of deck space. Inner size cell is 60 cm long and 56 cm wide, and each cell has its own exhaust vent. Crotale NG (VT1) missiles can be quad-packed in one cell.

The primary application of the launcher has been the MBDA Aster missile. The Sylver, together with the Aster, is the primary component of the PAAMS naval anti-air warfare system. Using PAAMS, up to eight missiles can be launched in 10 seconds.

The French Navy has initiated studies to convert the SCALP EG missile to be capable of launch from the Sylver. This missile, the SCALP Naval, would give France a land attack capability in the mould of the U.S. Tomahawk missile. It would also be attractive to the British Royal Navy, whose Type 45 destroyers will be equipped with the Sylver launcher, although the A50 type cannot take this missile at present.

The basic unit of Sylver VLS is an eight-cell module fitted with two rows of 22-inch missile cells surrounding the uptake for exhaust gas.

This would be great for our Tuzla Class.

The missiles are in vertical launch systems, which consist of modules of four or eight cells each. The cell contains 1 transport and launch container with a medium or long-range missile (9M96E, 9M96E2) or four short-range missiles (9M100). It is worth noting that a cold start is applied at startup. The rocket is thrown from a vertically located transport and launch container with a charge of compressed air to a height of 30 meters, turning with the help of a gas-dynamic system towards the target. Due to this, the minimum interception range is significantly reduced. The gas-dynamic system also provides the rocket with a super-maneuverability mode and can increase the rocket overload by 20g in 0.025 seconds.

SHTIL VLS
It must be the most simple, compact and cheapest VLS while using cold launch system.

The VLS created just for 9m317 m/me (improvedBUK )missiles.

.
Weight of one canister with missile 1055kg.

The system needs just 6.1m deck penetration.

SEA CEPTOR

One of the best example of cold launch naval VLS.

Greedy Brits still want to use old tube launchers on new frigates as new VLS costs expensive.

Concentric Canister Launcher

The Concentric Canister Launcher (CCL) is a new concept for launching munitions from surface ships. Each concentric launcher provides a self-contained gas management system and a complete set of launcher electronics. These innovations provide the naval architect new versatility in the design of warships, significant cost and weight advantages, and improved performance when compared to existing missile launching systems.

  • One significant design element of the CLU is a light-weight concentric canister that not only serves as the launch container for the missile but also the shipping and storage container.

Some warships of China's People's Liberation Army Navy use a concentric canister launch (CCL) system that can launch using both hot and cold methods.

1626298527123.png

  • The CCL provides two significant advances over the current Mk 41 VLS First, it is designed with a self-contained gas management system that eliminates the need to overhaul ship structures below deck level. IXO will have a launch mass of around 6600 kg and will be about 10 metres long and 4 metres in diameter in its launch configuration. "Cold" means relatively cold compared with rocket engine exhaust.
  • They are of the same model as those used on Type 052D, compatible with both hot and cold launch missiles thanks to the Concentric Canister Launcher (CCL) concept.

  • The universal VLS can cold launch missiles, such as the HHQ-9, but it also can hot launch missiles such as the HHQ-16. Each concentric launcher provides a self‐contained gas management system and a complete set of launcher electronics.

  • Each individual square VLS cell has a diameter of 0.85 meters, significantly greater than that of the Mk-41 VLS at 0.635 meters or even the Zumwalt class’ Mk-57 PVLS at 0.71 meters.

I assume Umkhonto VLS also uses CCL

MIDAS/ EDAS İs being said to be cold/ hot launch so it is very likely Tübitak to use CCL.

IMO the most simple, compact and reliable naval VLS is Umkhonto VLS.

Canister length 3800mm
Diameter 650mm

Takes too much space. Single MK41 cell can accomodate 4 ESSM's with same space.
But there's no MK41 one cell. MK41 8 cell self defense variant which is lighter and shorter than others just weight 12 tonnes.
1626446682290.png

You can't fit mk41 on little naval vessels. İndeed Umkhonto VLS is very compact, light, short and ideal for 4-6 missiles.Easy to maintain. Easy to load.
Also it must be cheaper. You don't need extra canister for transport.

Canister length 3800mm
Diameter 650mm

Mk41 one cell is minumum 5700mm.

1626446185771.png

Look here are the 8 missiles , it doesn't seem to occupy more space than two cell of MK41.

Güney Afrika büyük savaş gemilerinde geniş geniş koymuş, ama Hamina Klasta gayet kompakt.

The most compact VLS design must be CAMM's ( which must be complicated and expensive)
