We don't have that kind of money. We can do a limited drone carrier and have minor benefits for a smaller sum. Even 20 kaan on a ship is 2 billion $ by itself (not to mention the cost of navalizing kaan for only 20 of them probably on ship at best) The cost of a carrier and the fleet to protect it is who knows how much. For a french or british style carrier group you still lookin at 10-15 billion $ + fleet value and some 3000-5000 active personnel? For a light KE and Anka carrier you have lower odds and you can build a smaller flotilla and get away with it.

Currently, TB3, Kızılelma, Anka 3, and Naval Hürjet is planned as the airwing in a STOBAR configuration. A realistic runway will be constructed for Baykar and TAI so that they can do take-off tests from land. Carrier will be launched by the end of 2027/2028 mostly as an empty shell. Various systems will be installed, and trials are expected to start in 2030. The Navy is heavily invested in the project after the success of TB3 and TCG Anadolu. There is both pressure and support from the government. They want to do the launching ceremony before the elections(Q3 2027), but it looks very difficult.

i mean thats unlikely also most voters nowdays from akp are voting for them know matter what also where is mugem going to be built they said in istanbul but TF2000 will first have its keel laying this year. Im not saying it can't be launched by 2028 but where?

I'm sure part of decision they realized KE can't take off from Anadolu so they want a ship that can field it. It will be a Kızılelma carrier first and foremost

Unfortunately, SSB sold İstif-class frigates İzmir (F-516) and İçel (F-518) to Indonesia. The Navy will only receive İzmir (F-517). In my opinion, we should have promptly taken delivery of the first four frigates for the Turkish Navy, and we should have allocated two frigates from the second batch to Indonesia. I don't know what the rush is? Indonesia could have waited for two years, but we urgently need those frigates.

Guys look at the new design and such a great strike capacity for 120 meter ship.
Are there some lessons for us? First I see double frontal and rear point defense systems . (2x Gökdeniz and Levent )

Also at front and both sides two balconies for surface and ASW threats. You could put there 3X 30mm VENOM with ATGMS.

Also new trends is strait bow design, I'd like to know advantages of strait bow design. Why do Turkish shipyards construct frigates like Ford transit Vans

As far as I know, the Navy blocked that deal, informing defense industry authorities that the Navy urgently needs those frigates. Indonesia is offered frigates from the second batch.

Why not just build new would probably take less than 3 years and till istif is fully armed with quadpack and siper will be at least 2 years

Bayraktar TB3 to Begin Operations on TCG Anadolu in September

Rear Admiral Recep Erdinç Yetkin, in an interview with Breaking Defense reporter Agnes Helou during the Teknofest Blue Homeland event, alongside Baykar Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar, announced the service entry timeline for the Bayraktar TB3.

Developed by Baykar, the Bayraktar TB3 UAV will begin operations aboard the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu in September 2025. This development is regarded as a significant milestone for the Turkish Navy in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles.

To add, "Anadolu Task Group" seems mostly stood unchanged since its latest activation back in May, again for Neptune Strike 2024.1

1 Ada Class, 1 frigate(G or Meko), 3 army Cougars, 2 AH-1Ws, 1-2 Seahawks and a contingent of marines. And to add again, we don't know how many birds are in the lower deck. There are 40 aviation guys in the photo below. These 7 helicopters would have 24 personnel at most. They are either there for training or there might be more helicopters attached.

It is honestly shameful that we have to pull helicopters from the army to put on our ships. We should have found a solution years ago while we waited for our own helicopters and engines, instead of shifting them around trying to fill space.

No TB3 deployment. Unless they bring something out of the hat in two days, claimed september deployment of TB3s on Anadolu is one other failed claim.

TB3 is not quite integrated to Anadolu by any means (mechanically or electronically). They literally mounted GCS with bolts and nuts, without conducting any marinization, nor they use any onboard instrumentation to feed the flight system, or they can provide any information to the ship's CMS or any of the consoles / navigation panels.
They are done with media coverage and gone, skipping the real business.

They have absolutely no will for a real integration, ship being already built is no excuse here - even if it were a made from scratch design, Baykar would have introduced GCS somewhere independently with all other GCS related instruments being scattered on the mast - supper structure prior to any other vital instrument and sensor.

In proposed plans, so far only on MCMW vessel, you can see that the USV is seamlessly integrated on side-bays and has no GCS abruptly installed around the deck. And most likely the USV either has a dedicated console in CMC or integrated with Advent through Advent ROTA.

It is only Baykar that keeps refusing to integrate.
