Minister Fatih Dönmez stated that they have reached the final point in their natural gas distribution center works

Minister Dönmez made a statement to the journalists after the "9th Advisory Board Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor" held in Baku.

Talking about the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), Dönmez said that approximately 20 billion cubic meters of gas was shipped to Europe via this line.

Noting that about 20 billion cubic meters of gas was delivered to Turkey with TANAP, Dönmez said, "There is a consensus about doubling the capacity of TANAP. Work on it continues. Of course, the field needs to be developed. So production needs to be increased. I hope 3 "This capacity increase will be realized in 4 years. In this way, both Turkey and Europe will contribute to the security of supply." he said.

Pointing out that the energy relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are not limited to the TANAP project, Dönmez said:

"The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline works very regularly. There has been an increasing electricity trade in recent years. We bring electricity from Azerbaijan. Now, in the new period, Azerbaijan has planned serious investments to evaluate the wind potential on the Caspian coast. The transfer of renewable energy to Europe via Turkey is also on our agenda and among the issues we are negotiating."

Dönmez underlined that their priority as Turkey is their own supply security and said:

"While doing the infrastructure works to ensure our own supply security in recent years, we are moving towards a point where we will transfer gas to European countries and then gas trade. We have also negotiated with the representatives of the countries participating here. The officials we met stated that they would support this project. Turkey We have reached the final point in our efforts to establish a distribution center and trade center in Turkey. Our goal is to start the first trade there in a year."

TPAO and SOCAR signed a cooperation agreement

Touching on the cooperation between Turkish Petroleum (TPAO) and Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR), Dönmez said, "There were joint projects between Turkish Petroleum and SOCAR in some fields, especially in the Caspian region, from the past. In recent weeks, talks about another field were continuing. "Now, a cooperation agreement has been made. Information about the field will be opened to both sides and evaluated. If positive results occur, Turkish Petroleum will have an active role in that field as well." he said.

Trillion Energy Announces 70+ Metres Of Gas Pay Found In New Well At SASB Gas Field

Trillion Energy International Inc. (“Trillion” or the “Company”) (CSE: TCF) (OTCQB: TRLEF) (Frankfurt: Z62) is pleased to announce the preliminary gas indications from the Guluc 2 well, the third well in our multi-well program at the SASB gas field, Black Sea, Turkiye. On January 26, Guluc 2 reached 3,910 metres total measured depth (TMD) and true vertical debt (TVD) of 1,623 metres and discovered an abundance of gas pay.
Our analysis of the logging while drilling (“LWD”) results for the Guluc 2 well suggests 73 metres of potential natural gas pay within 14 separate sands in the Akcakoca Member (SASB production zone). Notably, there are 3 sand gas reservoirs greater than 9 metres thick each. The LWD identified gas sands correlate with natural gas detected at surface in drilling mud.
The initial perforation intervals are currently being selected to bring the well into production. It is expected that only the lower zones of Guluc 2 will be perforated initially. Completion and flow testing will occur over the weekend, with results to be announced next week.
Guluc 2 is expected to start generating revenue during the first week of February. After completion of the Guluc 2 well, the rig will be skid to the West Akcakcoa-1 well, which already has 1,008 metres of surface hole drilled, which will be drilled to TD.

Arthur Halleran CEO of Trillion stated:

“We are now 3 for 3 drilling at SASB. The Guluc 2 well exceeded our expectations in gas saturated potential pay with 73 metres, compared to only about 20 metres of gas pay discovered in the Guluc 1 exploration well drilled over 10 years ago. We are excited about flow testing the well and putting it into production next week, during a high price gas environment.”
Are the Trillion Energy partners with TPAO or did we just outsourced the drill part to them?
Because the piece says a revenue starting in the first week of February

Trillion Energy Discovers 55+ Metres Of Potential Gas Pay In West Akcakoca 1 Well At SASB Gas Field

March 14, 2023

West Akcakoca 1 is now successfully drilled to total depth with 55+ metres of potential gas pay identified

Trillion Energy International Inc. (“Trillion” or the “Company”) (CSE: TCF) (OTCQB: TRLEF) (Frankfurt: Z62) is pleased to announce the preliminary gas indications from the West Akcakoca 1 well, the fourth well in our multi-well program at the SASB gas field, Black Sea, Turkiye.

On March 10, West Akcakoca 1 reached 3,839 metres total measured depth (TMD) and true vertical depth (TVD) of 1,677 meters. During the drilling, an abundance of gas pay was discovered. Our analysis of logging while drilling (LWD) data suggests 55 metres of potential natural gas pay within 6 sands in the Akcakoca member (SASB production zone).

The logging while drilling data is consistent with the initial mud show results. The 7” production casing will be run in and cemented this week. The initial perforation intervals are currently being selected to bring the well into production. Completion and flow testing will occur once the well is perforated, with revenue being generated prior to month end.

After completion of the West Akcakoca 1 well, the rig will be skidded back to the Guluc-2 well for completion. The Guluc-2 well is scheduled to be put onto production by the end of March.

Arthur Halleran, CEO of Trillion, stated:

“That is 4 for 4 success at SASB, as Trillion successfully executes its gas development program at SASB. We eagerly await the gas flow rates and plan to put the wells into production, end of this month. As South Akcakoca 2, Guluc 2 and West Akcakoca 1 wells targeted resource prospects, not reserves, Trillion has significantly increased the proved reserves through the drilling program to date. We expect to release our updated reserve report by the end of the month.”

Offshore drilling activities are safer with ASELSAN

According to the information received by the AA correspondent, ASELSAN has integrated KARETTA, which contains many high technology, which will prevent the interference of national engineering power with the GNSS signal, into the Abdülhamid Han Drilling Ship, one of the 5 most equipped drilling ships in the world.

KARETTA Tamper-Resistant GNSS System was integrated into the drilling rig and navigation system receiver of Abdulhamid Han Ship to prevent it from being affected in case of tampering during drilling activities. The successful positioning of the product was confirmed by İHASAVAR, the mixer system developed by ASELSAN.

With this study, Abdülhamid Han Drilling Ship will operate without losing its position information in the electronic jamming environment by using the KRETTA Jamming Resistant GNSS System and will perform its hydrocarbon exploration activities in the Eastern Mediterranean in a safer way.

With this activity, the KRETTA Tamper Resistant GNSS System has been made to be integrated into all Turkish Petroleum Corporation drilling and seismic research vessels. ASELSAN will continue to work with KRETTA so that all platforms that will reduce Turkey's dependence on foreign energy can perform their duties without being affected by the mixing activities.

A strategic product used in many systems

GNSS scrambling activities are increasing around the world. In addition to platforms where GNSS receivers working with global navigation satellite systems are used, KARETTA offers government buildings, airports, ports, critical facilities/structures, drilling and seismic research vessels, civil aviation aircraft, civil helicopters, commercial UAVs, autonomous agricultural applications, It stands out as a strategic product that can be used in many places such as rescue operation vehicles.

Being one of the rare systems that provide multi-band protection at the same time, KRETTA enables land, air, sea vehicles, unmanned systems and missiles to operate in an intense electronic jamming environment without losing their position information.

Developed with a high degree of locality in its components, KRETTA can be easily integrated into all platforms, including missiles, thanks to its lightweight and compact, easy-to-integrate modular structure.

In the light of the experience gained in the field, KRETTA, which provides effective protection against different mixer types and high-power mixers, makes a difference compared to its foreign counterparts with its ability to use multiple GNSS bands and find the mixer direction.

Uzmar-Botas-1536x862.jpeg

Turkey’s 1st LNG dual-fuel tugboat starts taking shape

Turkish Uzmar Shipyard has held a steel-cutting ceremony for Turkey’s first dual-fuel tugboat, being built for BOTAŞ Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS), the state-owned crude oil and natural gas pipelines and trading company.

The shipyard will build two Voith tractor-type propeller tugboats that will be able to run on liquified natural gas (LNG) and diesel.

BOTAS has 55 years of experience in the sector and currently has 14 tugboats in its fleet.

The tugboats will have a length of 39 meters and a width of 15 meters. They will serve at BOTAŞ ports with a speed of 12 knots. They will have a minimum pulling power of 80 tons, and main engines with a total power of 6,000 kW, in addition to Voith propeller system and Fi-Fi1 fire extinguishing capacity.

BOTAS also plans to further rejuvenate the tugboat fleet with sustainability and fleet efficiency in mind.

Turkish shipyards have already built considerable experience in building smaller, dual-fuel and electrically powered vessels.

For example, Turkish Cemre Shipyard has launched the construction of a zero-emission double-ended car and passenger ferry that will run on battery-electric power.

The order for the 117 meters long ferry with an accommodation capacity of 399 passengers was revealed in April 2022. It is planned for all power for the new zero-emission vessel to come from the grid onshore through high-capacity automated charging connections. In case shore power is unavailable biodiesel generators would provide power for operation.

Furthermore, the yard is also building two zero-emission ferries for the Danish ferry company Molslinjen, which will be entirely powered by batteries.

In addition, Turkish Tersan Shipyard has secured a contract to build two eco-friendly sister ferries for Norwegian ferry operator Fjord1 ASA.

However, the country’s fleet is yet to ramp up its decarbonization efforts in line with global targets.

For the short term, the country’s shipowners are looking into energy efficiency improvements and the potential of biofuel, while in the medium term, short-sea vessels are likely to opt for batteries and LNG.

Methanol has a strong potential as it is fairly easy to adopt. However, the price of green methanol remains steep.

To that end, Turkish shipyard and tug operator company Uzmar Shipyard has teamed up with Canadian naval architectural firm Robert Allan to design and build a new series of methanol-fuelled tugboats.

As informed, the new designs represent a new generation of low-emission tugs demanded by shipowners to meet CO2 reduction targets.

Uzmar said it intends to replace all the tugboats in its fleet with eco-friendly newbuilds and offer the global market a solution for sustainable low-emission vessels.

As with other countries across the globe, for the Turkish fleet ammonia, and hydrogen are considered the likely solutions in the long term. Nevertheless, the scope of the necessary infrastructure and investments remains a massive challenge.

German source, I'd like to highlight one thing:

Investment of 1.8 bln € for the entire offshore platform, onshore production and pipes. Dont know if exploration costs are included. But expected to pay the initial investment off within the first 6 months of production.

To think that at least 1.8 billion dollars can be repaid in a mere 6 months just prove how much gas and oil are worth their weight in gold. No wonder Russia can sustain such a war on gas exports alone
Truly, energy is a scary resource and weapon

As these discoveries continue, the seriousness of the situation will become clear. A TR that has started to solve its energy dependence entirely with domestic resources is literally the stuff of nightmares for some countries. Because TR, which permanently closes its foreign trade deficit, can shake the existing world order to its foundations due to its hinterland.
