Did TPAO ever searched for gas/oil in Tuz Göl or Lake Van?
There are 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas stored in huge caverns under the salt lake(Tuzgölü). Very detailed seismic and geological studies have been carried out here. Therefore, TPAO should have detailed data on the hydrocarbon potential of the region.

In addition, the caverns of the depleted natural gas reservoir in Silivri have also started to be used for natural gas storage. The capacity here is around 3 billion cubic meters.

Tuzgolü and Silivri caverns are very strategic investments to keep the natural gas supply in balance, and in fact they are as important as LNG port investments and even the ongoing natural gas explorations/site contructions.

Fatih Drilling Ship has started drilling in Amasra-2, the new detection well in Sakarya Gas Field.

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez stated that Turkey will supply 1.4 billion cubic meters of gas annually from Oman for 10 years.

In his speech at the Turkey Century in Energy Summit organized by Albayrak Medya, Dönmez stated that issues such as Black Sea gas, nuclear energy, natural gas storage, gas center, renewable energy, and rare earth elements will play an important role in the future.

Commenting on the discovery of natural gas in the Black Sea, Dönmez said, "The Black Sea gas is large enough to meet our needs of approximately 30 years with its current reserve. This period will be extended with new discoveries. Natural gas transmission, distribution, storage works correspond to at least 50 years or even more. In addition to renewable energy, each facility has a lifespan of at least 30-35 years. Based on this understanding, we called it the Energy of the Century in the name of the vision that will carry the energy of the Turkish Century into the next century." he said.

"Drilling of all wells in Phase-1 in the Black Sea has been completed"

Dönmez stated that they have lowered 33 of the 42 units to the sea floor in the Black Sea, and said:

"We have completed 90 percent of the construction of our Natural Gas Processing Facility, which will process the gas coming from the sea on land. We have also started the necessary functional tests for the commissioning of the facility, step by step. Again in January, the assembly works on the seabed were completed and we started the first test studies there. Our Fatih Drilling Ship Türkali- It has completed the drilling of well 11. Thus, we have completed the drilling of all the wells required for Phase 1. Yavuz will complete the top completion in the Türkali-5 well, and Kanuni will soon complete the bottom completion in the Türkali-10 well. After the discovery in the Çaycuma-1 well, a new drilling operation in that region will also be completed. "We will have studies. We will drill detection wells. We will carry out these drillings in other geological fields with a similar structure adjacent to the region. We hope to give new good news to our nation from there. As these good news continue and the price volatility in the world begins to decrease, we will reflect these to our citizens as discounts."

Reminding that the natural gas used by the industry has been reduced by 13 to 16 percent, Dönmez said, "There will be a decrease of up to 15 percent in the costs of our large industrial establishments that purchase electricity from the free market. If the prices continue to decline, there may be a discount in March." said.

"Third FSRU in Turkey in a week"

Dönmez said that they expect the third FSRU ship to be in Turkey within a week, and that the ship started sailing with its first cargo.

Noting that the ship will dock there to be used at the Saros FSRU terminal, Dönmez said that they have gained the flexibility to carry out LNG transport with these ships, especially during the summer months when there is no need to pump gas into the system.

Emphasizing that they will put Turkey's new FSRU ship into service with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Dönmez said, "With Saros FSRU, we will have added a new entry point to the Thrace region, where consumption is intense. More importantly, in line with our gas trade center target, regional regional We will be a more active player in the gas trade." used the phrases.

"Turkey is taking all steps to become a gas trade center"

Noting that they have been conducting intense energy diplomacy for the gas trade center for a long time, Dönmez said that they have visited 15 countries from Europe to Central Asia and the Gulf in the last 1 year.

Noting that the first step was taken with Bulgaria in this context, Dönmez said, "We signed an annual gas supply agreement of approximately 1.5 billion cubic meters with Bulgaria, which will last until 2035. This capacity corresponds to approximately 30 percent of Bulgaria's annual gas consumption. In 13 years. "There will be a total gas flow of 20 billion cubic meters to Bulgaria. In addition to Bulgaria, we are carrying out similar processes with North Macedonia, Romania and Moldova." made its assessment.

Noting that there is a potential to increase the natural gas supply to the countries of the region up to 3 times in a very short time with new investments, Dönmez continued as follows:

"I would like to share with you a new development that I will announce for the first time here. Currently, our BOTAŞ General Manager and his delegation are in Oman. We are signing a new gas purchase agreement with Oman. We will supply 1.4 billion cubic meters of gas annually from Oman and our agreement is valid for 10 years. "Later, we will be able to extend the agreement if favorable conditions arise again. At a time when the world, especially Europe, is suffering from gas supply problems, Turkey is taking all steps to become a gas trade center."

Dönmez emphasized that their next goal is to bring producer and consumer countries together and to become the gas trade center where the reference gas price is determined in the region.

In this context, Dönmez announced that they will organize the Istanbul Gas Summit in Istanbul on February 14-15 and said that the source countries of the Middle East, Mediterranean, Caspian and Central Asia and consumer countries of Europe will be brought together at the summit.

Noting that they determined the motto of the summit as "Securing the Future Together", Dönmez used the following statements:

"In addition to the energy ministers, we will host high-level representatives of public institutions and organizations, the private sector and international energy organizations. At the summit, we will discuss the effects of global developments on the energy sector, changes in supply and demand, pricing and global supply security."

The article basically says the amount that is found is 'hefty', but it is not economically viable and environmental impact is pretty bad.

What they don't get is when it comes to energy and raw material extraction, Turkish Republic puts both of these concerns in the back-burner. We've been heavily investing in out defence sector for decades in order to achieve independence. It must have reached about 300-400 billion dollars at this point. Who says tayyip won't sign some paper and a few billion dollars are allocated for a rare earth materials mine and processing plant, while riot police beats up protesting environmentalists and villagers?

We take our independence very seriously, and are ready to carry this burden. Plus, I think if a plant is set up, we can automate here and cut some corners there and optimalize the process to make some bucks eventually. Even more importantly, we can create the industry to further process these materials to achieve maximum economic value from it. This is a strategic resource, and Turkey being embargoed by the west is not impossible. At the very least we must create a small or medium sized plant just for defence industry import substitution.

When it comes to defence industry, all critical parts should be produced in Turkey, preferably with Turkish raw materials, and we must have the industrial base to produce non-critical parts in short notice. This is the goal of Turkiye.

I think there should first explore the entirety of the Black Sea first or at least wait for several defence projects to be completed such as the new I-class frigates, the TF-2000 destroyers, the Piri Reis Submarines, and the acquisition of the Type 23 frigates, and the unmanned platforms. if turkey wants not only to find resources but also to make use of them it will need clear naval and aerial superiority and those previously mentioned platforms will assist in that.

Turkey has all the time it needs all Turkey needs to do is raise tensions every time someone comes sniffing around the area in order to chase away investors and deter other states from monopolizing the East Mediterranean.

There is a much larger reserve in the Black Sea than previously thought. The Amasra well could be just the beginning.

The energy ministry and relevant institutions have begun to say that , foreign dependence on natural gas will be completely eliminated by 2030.

Lastly, Melih Han Bilgin, General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Directors of TPAO, stated that with the new natural gas discoveries they have made, they aim to completely eliminate foreign dependency in natural gas by 2030 and said, "Currently, there is no one who knows the Black Sea better than us, no one knows the geology of the Black Sea better than us, for drill economical, fast and accurate wells."

In other words, thanks to Turkish scientists and the technical infrastructure acquired, the economic value of Turkiye's exclusive economic zone is only just coming to light. For years, we lived unaware of the great economic value right next to us, and the reason was that we were largely dependent on foreign countries/companies for these technical and scientific studies.

*

In terms of Turkiye's direct energy imports, there is a deficit of around 90-100 billion dollars in 2022. Moreover, the biggest volatility is in the energy market due to international crises, and this is a terrible problem for net energy importers. The main and biggest issue in Turkiye's economy is current account deficit that so energy imports. There is a monthly average deficit of 8-9 billion dollars.

With renewable energy investments and the commissioning of the nuclear power plant, Turkiye will secure its electricity supply to a great extent within 8-10 years. And also, in parallel with the current hydrocarbon-based discoveries and offshore joint exploration and exploitation agreements, we are now in a position to talk about the end of external dependence on energy in a 10-year projection.

We are at a historic threshold that could permanently solve this decades-old fundamental problem of the Turkish economy. Our energy independence is as important for the national security of our country as the independence of our defense industry.

This is a classic Western-style hit-piece that comes out pretty much every time Turkey announces some good news. In the article they grudgingly have to accept that Turkey might have really found a huge deposit but hopefully it doesn't matter because maybe the its concentration is lower or maybe because Turkey doesn't have the processing capabilities, which let's assume they can't build. These types of articles are also produced in defense industry related news as well where the news of Turkey achieving something is immediately followed by a list of vague doubts about capability, timeplan, political ambitions of Erdogan or something else that stems not from objective analysis but wishful thinking.

Trillion Energy Announces 70+ Metres Of Gas Pay Found In New Well At SASB Gas Field

Trillion Energy International Inc. (“Trillion” or the “Company”) (CSE: TCF) (OTCQB: TRLEF) (Frankfurt: Z62) is pleased to announce the preliminary gas indications from the Guluc 2 well, the third well in our multi-well program at the SASB gas field, Black Sea, Turkiye. On January 26, Guluc 2 reached 3,910 metres total measured depth (TMD) and true vertical debt (TVD) of 1,623 metres and discovered an abundance of gas pay.
Our analysis of the logging while drilling (“LWD”) results for the Guluc 2 well suggests 73 metres of potential natural gas pay within 14 separate sands in the Akcakoca Member (SASB production zone). Notably, there are 3 sand gas reservoirs greater than 9 metres thick each. The LWD identified gas sands correlate with natural gas detected at surface in drilling mud.
The initial perforation intervals are currently being selected to bring the well into production. It is expected that only the lower zones of Guluc 2 will be perforated initially. Completion and flow testing will occur over the weekend, with results to be announced next week.
Guluc 2 is expected to start generating revenue during the first week of February. After completion of the Guluc 2 well, the rig will be skid to the West Akcakcoa-1 well, which already has 1,008 metres of surface hole drilled, which will be drilled to TD.

Arthur Halleran CEO of Trillion stated:

“We are now 3 for 3 drilling at SASB. The Guluc 2 well exceeded our expectations in gas saturated potential pay with 73 metres, compared to only about 20 metres of gas pay discovered in the Guluc 1 exploration well drilled over 10 years ago. We are excited about flow testing the well and putting it into production next week, during a high price gas environment.”

To which country does Trillion energy belong to?
And why are they drilling for gas while Turkey has its own national drilling vessels

Canadian company if I am not mistaken. Let them drill and find gas reserves, once done drilling apply sanctions on them and kick them out. Payback!

The Canadians are one of the biggest gas and oil countries in the world as such they may have the expertise that Turkey lacks.
