Turkiye is a country with a very different potential and large hinterland, and its geopolitical position allows it to establish its own power centre, or rather to create a very balanced policy that can include both the east and the west. If it could have become an industrial giant like Korea and Germany, it would already be one of the world's major powers. However, while these two countries, one of which was completely destroyed in the 1940s and the other in the 1950s, were moving forward despite all kinds of economic crises and political depressions, we were experiencing a major mental collapse in those years. Most of the problems and shortcomings we have are things that have been formed, accumulated, traditionalised and taken for granted in these decades. We cannot suddenly turn the story around, but we can work towards it.

This country, which built its first reactor in 1960 and prepared the first NPP tender in 1973, will hold the ceremony for the first NPP reactor in 2023. While countries like Romania discovered their gas-oil potential in the 1980s, we, who share the same sea and Tuna basin, realised that we had such a potential in the 2010s. This alone speaks volumes.

those who talk about Germany and Korea, why they also dont talk about how much money they owe in total? you can even include France there too, same with the USA. Turkey try to do everything on its own as it didnt have access to low percentage money as others did or they really cared about their own people

I cited China as a country that is a real exporter while importing majority of it's energy. I didn't say that it is a country that is democratic, free and lacking corruption. My mistake is to put a country of a continental size together with midgets like Poland, Germany, Korea. Instead of trying to show me why I am not right you prefer to concentrate on one "small bush" while ignoring the whole "forest" in front of your eyes.

But it is still good to know that at least you guys admit that the inflation is bad.

i dont even know from where to start, the rear earth materials China has, or its huge land or population that trigered western companies to come. China owns everything in its teritory so more income that more "democratic ruled" Turkey

The Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Dönmez says that in the near future we should expect important news about the discovery of new oil reserves in the country.

It was announced that the daily production will be 100,000 barrels/day in the new discovery area in Gabar, Şehit Aybüke Yalçın-1, which reserve amount has been wondered for a while.The biggest oil discovery in the history of the Republic. It was announced that the oil quality very high and the drilling depth about 2600 metres. This can also provide great cost advantages.

The reserve determination studies here date back to months ago, and even shipment to refineries from pilot production for processing has already started. However, we can guess the reason why the news was delayed so long.

The discovery took place in one of the regions where the terrorist organisation was most effective for 30 years. Not only did we spend hundreds of billions of dollars on the fight against terrorism for years, but the impact of terrorism prevented the underground and above-ground resources from being brought into the economy, almost like a hand brake.

With this discovery, Turkiye's production capacity more than doubled and started to approach 200,000 barrels. This roughly corresponds to 20 per cent of the average daily consumption. However, especially the Gabar region can become a major oil production basin within 15 years, there are very important findings. If we can reduce the use of oil, especially in electricity generation and passenger cars, and make a few more major discoveries in 10/15 years, we can be maximally protected from fluctuations in the international oil market.

I can say with high confidence that this is a conservative announcement. We should expect more in the future.

If we can stabilise our oil consumption based on imports around 0.7 to 1 million barrels, especially with the transformation in the energy sector, and if we can make a series of similar discoveries as Gabar Şehit Aybüke Yalçın-1 well, we will have made a great progress in terms of achieving an import-export balance.

Import-export imbalance is the biggest problem of our economy. We still have a long way to go in high-tech exports (in one of the last reports I saw it was around 5-6 billion dollars), but bringing natural gas and oil resources into the economy in the first place is very valuable both in terms of the increase in energy supply to industry and in terms of suppressing the largest item of imports.

If we can stabilise our oil consumption around 1 million barrels, especially with the transformation in the energy sector, and if we can make a series of similar discoveries as Gabar Şehit Aybüke Yalçın-1 well, we will have made a great progress in terms of achieving an import-export balance.

Our consumption is fluctuating between 900-950k barrels per day. I hope we can stabilize it at around 1 million that would be great. With the economic growth, consumption increases but we are investing big in green technologies to counteract that increase so we should be able to stabilize around 1 million.

I'm saying this with really high confidence expect 2x(at least) to 4x(optimistic estimate) what is announced today. This is a very conservative announcement similar to the first announcement of Blacksea Gas, I would speculate it is even more conservative.

Oil is a high-quality 41 API gravity. The recoverable oil ratio is high.

The discovery is made without seismic data. The geological model constructed from both the data obtained from Esma Çevik well and gravity-magnetic data obtained from airborne measurements in 2018 was key to the success.

This is really extraordinary.

In 2020, 58 exploration and appraisal wells and 48 production wells were drilled in TR. A total of 106 wells were drilled. Falling due to the pandemic The number of wells increased in 2021. According to MAPEG data, in 2021 104 exploration and detection wells and 70 production wells throughout the country A total of 174 wells were drilled. TPAO drilled 119 of these wells, 34 of which were production wells.

TPAO has become one of the world's important oil and natural gas exploration company with its activities both in Turkiye and abroad. And it is progressing by expanding its capacity and total number of activities at significant rates with its investments every year.

What TAI achieves in aviation, TPAO achieves the same in energy.

If someone decides to lower the interest rate further the trade deficit will still widen, despite all of these discoveries.

That is actually a legitimate point to ask
For those who dont know, the Kurdistan region/country which is being promoted by the USA is composed of majority of oil reserves in Turkey, Syria,& Iraq

Kurdistan isnt only a plan to destory pro-Russia/Iran Syria, pro-Russia/Iran Iraq, former imperial Turkey but also to take all of the oil in the region for US corporations at 0 cost

One of the major ideas behind Kurdistan is similar to the reason why the USA invaded Afghanistan; i-e, resources

With Gulf countries, headed by the KSA, are starting to show signs of rebellion against the USA-backed political/economical order, Kurdistan became an area of HIGH priority to the US

That is why dont expect the USA to leave Syria or Iraq since this is a part of a long-term plan and a part of the reason for why Turkey needs to remain in Syria as a balance-breaker against the USA

Russia on the other hand, is another big story for why Iraq, Syria, and above all Turkey is important to it
