I can understand Azeri with 90-95%. Kazakh is less than that. But i think having the same alphabet will able us to connect more with Kazakhs. If you took notice there is almost no Kazakhs in our digital sphere.

If we are going to achieve unity with the Turkic world.

I believe Chagatai should be the official lingua franca of the Turkic World. I believe this language should be revived.

Chagatai was spoken from Central Asia all the way to the Ottoman Empire. Ottomans even gave decrees in Chagatai while in the Timurid and Mughal Empires it was an official language.

I believe Chagatai is more important than Arabic, French, English, Latin and Greek for us Turks because it was our very own lingua franca language spoken by lots of turkic people as a common language.

It’s still a branch of old turkic language.

I think everything will come naturally as long ad the turkic nationa can stick to their turkic and improve trade among turkic nations. We’ll naturally adapt and learn from each other.

Indeed just interesting how the Turkic World had their own lingua franca. A language where everybody spoke in their daily lives.

Turkey, Uzbekistan talk potential to up economic ties

Turkey and Uzbekistan on Tuesday have signed a memorandum of understanding to improve bilateral relations and cooperation.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, in a joint press conference at Uzbek capital Tashkent, announced the signing of a memorandum and said, "We have great potential to improve our economic relations, and we will make that happen."

Cavusoglu said the memorandum "will further develop the relations between both our ministries and our countries; and in the upcoming period, to increase trade, we intend to sign a preferential trade agreement and a free trade agreement."

As he hailed the bilateral relations between the two countries, the Turkish foreign minister noted that his country is among the top five trade partner countries of Uzbekistan and the country that invests in Uzbekistan the most.

Separately, Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov said the delegations discussed how to improve bilateral cooperation, international and regional issues, and improve relations with international organizations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Turkic Council.

Prior to the joint press conference, Cavusoglu and Kamilov had a meeting where the countries' delegations exchanged views regarding the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council's agenda.

The Joint Strategic Planning Group meeting will take place today at Tashkent.

"As we start the preparations for the second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, we will also follow the implementation of the decisions taken and the agreements we signed at the first summit," Cavusoglu said.

"We will also discuss the Turkic Council, Afghanistan and other regional issues," he added.

Regarding the high-level strategic cooperation between Turkey and Uzbekistan, Uzbek Foreign Minister said, "Uzbekistan held the meetings of Joint Strategic Planning Group and the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council with only Turkey."

"There are very important issues on our agenda, and we aim to take strategic cooperation to the next level," he said.

Kamilov also said that they would hold the Strategic Planning Group's second meeting and discuss the preparation for the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting.

He stated that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev would also receive Cavusoglu, and the Turkish foreign minister would meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.

Noting that Cavusoglu learned the Uzbek language very well during his three-day visit, Kamilov added, "Once again, you are welcome to Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan is your second home. You are well-known and appreciated in your fatherland, Uzbekistan."

Those are wonderful developments. I think it's important that we keep our joy reined and support growth, and development in these countries without getting dragged into internal politics. They're so far away from us and are possibly in the influence sphere of Russia, China etc that we'd lose our connection on slightest whims, wrong words, wrong expressions...

'21st century to be Asia's century'

The 21st century will be Asia's century, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said, speaking at Antalya Diplomacy Forum organized at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in Kyrgyzstan.

"There is a reality that everyone now sees, the Asian Reality. The 21st century will be Asia's century. We, as a historical part of Asia, launched the Asia Anew Initiative to take our place in this rise," Cavusoglu said, referring to the initiative to enhance Turkey's relations in the new era with Asian countries while continuing its trade with Europe.

"Our initiative aims to more strongly reconnect with Asia and turn our position between the Euro-Atlantic and Europe, the world's first and second economic areas, into an advantage," he said.

He highlighted that Asia's contribution to world economic growth has reached 50%.

He said Turkey-Kyrgyzstan relations further strengthened moving to strategic partnership level in 2011.

Cavusoglu emphasized that there is a goal of strengthening transport and communication links between Turkey and Central Asia in the coming period.

"Let's take advantage of opportunities that come our way by combining our strength with the Central Asian countries," Cavusoglu said.

"We need to further strengthen our brotherhood with concrete projects," he added.

'Mirror of nation's values'

"A country's foreign policy is a mirror of that nation's values, Cavusoglu said.

He stressed that Turkey is working to solve crises that threaten the region, including in the Caucasus, Syria, Libya, and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Cavusoglu added that wherever in the world people face persecution or any kind of disaster, Turkey rushes to help regardless of the language, religion, or race of those people.

Turkic world

The Turkic world "has been divided by artificial walls" for years, and with the "collapse of the wall" Turkey and the Turkic world embraced each other, noted Cavusoglu.

He said it was a great pleasure that the cooperation established around the Turkic language, "a language of civilization," has turned into the vision of the Turkic Council nowadays.

"The Turkic Council, the foundations of which we laid in 2009 with four countries, including brotherly Kyrgyzstan, has reached a point of pride today."

He also emphasized how important Azerbaijan's victory was in the recent Karabakh war for the Turkic world.

"We, as Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, aim to have other Central Asian countries involved in the projects we have implemented," he said, adding that these were the "main issues" discussed during the visits to Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

FETO terror group

"Embrace the traditions but be open to the future," Cavusoglu said, addressing the youth at the university.

He recalled that the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, founded in 1995, has so far had more than 9,000 graduates working in 43 countries across five continents.

"Aim for being above the level of contemporary civilization. For this, have your free opinion. Be alert to harmful movements like FETO [Fetullah Terrorist Organization]. Do not surrender your will to anyone," he said.

FETO and its US-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and 2,734 injured.

Ankara also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.

Turkish FM says transport corridor from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan should be established

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has stressed the necessity of creating a transport corridor connecting Kyrgyzstan with Azerbaijan.

“Obstacles in trade, transportation and logistics sectors should be eliminated. Logistics centers in Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, as well as a transport corridor from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan should be established," he told a press conference on the results of his visit to Kyrgyzstan.

"Then goods from Kyrgyzstan can be easily sent to Georgia, Turkey and Europe via Azerbaijan,” Cavusoglu added.

The Turkic Council is a game changer. We should be thankful that it was established in 2009 as opposed to being further delayed. We have come a long way. As time goes on we will see amazing and unexpected achievements as a result of the cooperation between member states.

I wish if there was a way to invest in the Turkic Council as a whole.
