Some countries contacting the Turkic Council for membership status; Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Mongolia, South Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Malta and Qatar. Apart from that, Japan, Malaysia and Bangladesh requested partnerships with the Council.

Unlikely to be true, because the Council is mean't to represent an EU like relationship, not an economic union.

Wow so many wanna join.. I can understand South Korea eventually getting added due to being distant relative to the turks since they belong to the altaic family... This is EU like union as you mentioned so it is hard to imagine others being added

Altaic is discredited.

I wonder how much related South Korea and Japan is to the Turkic peoples.

You can see relations with Turkic, Mongolic and Tungusic peoples as they lived together and fought together for centuries but its hard to find any link with Koreans and Japanese being included.

Pakistan joined the Baku Declaration this is big news but is getting hardly any headlines.. The Azeri diplomacy is second to none they have completely checkmated Armenia in so many levels not only on the frontline but in the diplomacy department.. Armenia will just cut it's losses short from here on out.. the Azeris have become like climbing 100 times mount everst just not worth the hassle to ever attempt another go just not worth the trouble

Uzbekistan allows Islam to be practiced freely hopefully this opening would lead to Uzbeks not becoming victims of radicalism.

We know how wahabis use the oppression of Muslims to spread their radical thoughts.

The opening up would drive a wedge into radicals which means they wont able to recruit as they used to.

Plus I see a lot of similarties with the Islam practiced by Turks of Turkey and the Central Asian Turks.

Imam Maturudi is our common sect in creed. It might be from him.

They can be an observer to be honest.

Hungary whatsoever has no Turkic roots.

They are western, european, catholic not one has visible Asian genes neither do they have Central Asian traditions. Also the annual kurultai does not count.

If the Council aims to be anything like the European Union e.g. freedom of movement, single market. Then one has to consider the consequences of inviting certain countries. Perhaps citizens of Turkey wouldn't mind Azeris/Kazakhs/Uzbeks etc to live and work freely in Turkey but with other countries this may not be the case. (Potential conflict e.g. "taking jobs" or the issue of the state not looking after its "true citizens"........)

We are more Hunnic than them
Afcourse, but they have also Hunnic blood in their veins. Atilla is a very popular boy name in Hungary and their language has some similarities with Turkish.

Some Hungarians i know in the Netherlands look very Turkish with dark hair and brown eyes, but some also look very Caucasian with blond hair and blue eyes and others are just dark gypsies, it's a mix up.

No wonder that we always go good along in foreign policy with Hungary.

P.S.

I never understood why Turkmenistsn is not a member. They always kept theirselve outside of Turkish cases, our trade development with them is also a joke.

Turkmenistan should be our biggest partner and ally but our relations are somehow not superb. I dont get it. They even voted AGAINST a independent Palestine state, while Armenia vote for it.
