'Clear links between Pakistan and attackers' - says India officialpublished at 07:47

07:47

Mr Misri spoke in some detail about the "barbarity" of last month's attack in Indian-administered Kashmir which he said was carried out by "Pakistani and Pakistan-trained terrorists". He did not share any evidence of this in the briefing.

He blamed the attack on The Resistance Front (TRF), describing it as a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba, a group based in Pakistan that India has designated a terrorist organisation.

Soon after the attack, a social media post appeared claiming to be speaking on behalf of the TRF, saying it was behind the killings. But the TRF later denied involvement saying someone with access to its social media account had wrongly claimed a role in the attack.

Pakistan has denied any involvement in the Pahalgam attack and asked India to show any evidence it has. It hasn't responded to India's latest claims yet.

Mr Misri said Indian intelligence's monitoring of "Pakistan-based terrorist modules" indicated that further attacks against India were impending.

"There was thus compulsion both to deter and to pre-empt [further attacks]."

He also reiterated that India's strikes in Pakistani territory were "measured, non-escalatory, proportionate and responsible".

I think it's important to post news and not just social media stuff considering how it's easy to create false stuff using AI.

All we can do is rely on established newspapers as a basis. Otherwise things might get out of hand.

Also I think a drop tank isn't necessarily proof of downing a plane, as all jets with droptanks can ditch them when necessary.

So in that regard Social media pictures of jet wreckage could be useful as I don't think normal media will be allowed to show these.

Pakistan: India has hit a hydroelectric power plant
A hydroelectric power plant on the Pakistani side of the border in Kashmir has been hit by Indian attacks early Wednesday morning.
This was stated by military spokesman Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, according to the AFP news agency. He added that the attacks have destroyed parts of the water system.
– What international laws of war allow this? Attacking another country's water reserves, dams and hydroelectric structures, says Chaudhry.

This is the droptank we saw photos of. Interestingly, droptanks usually don't crumble like this when they hit ground and keep their shape more or less. Interesting.
With the earlier MICA launcher from Bathinda and now this, it does look like a Rafale went down. Looks a lot like the nozzles without the housing.

Interesting, I thought MICA+launcher was indicating M2K. But this wreckage does look like a M88 engine.

Multiple jets went down. Pakistan says 5, India media reports 4. can be from different crashes.

On the night of May 7, the Indian army announced Operation Sindoor, aimed "against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan." The Indian army struck nine targets in Pakistan, Pakistani Kashmir, and Jammu state as part of Operation Sindoor. It is worth noting that it is difficult to publish up-to-date information on these battles, as both sides are using old photos and videos, which is difficult to say for sure. According to India, the strikes were not directed against Pakistani military facilities. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif called India's actions an "act of war." The conflict between India and Pakistan, which has been going on for several decades, escalated again after the tragic incident on April 22 in the city of Pahalgam, where 26 people, most of them tourists, were killed in an attack by terrorists from the Lashkar-e-Taiba group. India blamed Pakistan for this, accusing it of involvement in the attack. In response, Pakistan denied the allegations and called for an independent investigation. Both sides have now begun fighting.
