I think it is MB influence mainly that the UAE is worried about, reading publications about MBZ tends to spell out that his biggest fear is MB gaining influence in the region again. Arab vs Turk is a patsy used to gain support among other govs and population.

UAE has taken a enemy of my enemy approach to pressure Turkey into being stretched thin so their support for MB in Libya is weakened. At the same time, UAE has just recently withdrew from Libya which begs the question of motive for their exit. It has also exited Yemen, and recently restarted relations with Qatar in January.

I think Erdo wants governments that toe his policy, but I'd prefer a joint policy that allows regional peace. In conflict zones one side gaining all the power means that stability will not be achieved.

UAE has more soft power than Saudi Arabia currently in my opinion.
SIsi, and Qatar is likely the medium that will allow normalization between the UAE and Turkey if it ever happens.

In my opinion it would be beneficial for all sides to talk about how they are going to fix their relations. UAE isn't in Libya anymore so that should make it a lot easier for everyone. I also think that the UAE would be better off allying with Azerbaijan to access its energy market.

How likely is it that Saudi Arabia will use its soft and hard power in UAE to force a policy change? I mean for example they basically want to force the HQ of the companies in the region to move to Riyadh, which seems like a dick move towards Qatar and UAE.

If there's one thing we agree on than its that cooperation will benefit the region, not this continuous fighting and the proxy wars.

Edit: there are also some red lines that will have to be solved, for UAE its MB and for Turkey the support in Cyprus and the EastMed Pipeline for example

This is why the EU have no legitimacy.

You either practice what you preach if not countries will just use the simple word 'piss off' and mind your own business.

The Eu even decades have past and have still failed to grasp Turkish politics.
I chuckle when I see these kind of silly comparisons. The reason why most EU countries and the USA don't extradite people to Turkey is because the Turkish judicial system isn't independent and totally subservient to Erdogan.
It's really simple.

Eu literally complained when the Turks stripped the hdp of immunity. Same party with links to pkk. Does not bat an eye when Spain strips catalan politicians of immunity.

Hypocrisy much.

I am not very informed on HDP activities but I can't not notice that in 2015 it was part of the government coalition.Did the Turkish state suddenly found out in 2016 that they have links with the PKK and was completely oblivious before that? Because, if you rule alongside one party and a year later start mass arresting its members, it looks more like political persecution.

Even before 2016 their links to pkk were well known.

Comparison is not perfect, because HDP has ties to the PKK. And Puidgemont or whatever his name is started an illegal referendum with the goal of seceding. So not exactly the same scenario.

The motion to "investigate China's activities in East Turkistan and to report its results to the international community" was rejected by the Ak Party and MHP votes. Uighurs are both Muslim and Turkish. These are the ideological foundations of the government and the supporting party.
Political suicide imo it would destroy relations with China.

You don't think you should be able to say anything about anyone and not be arrested? Americans can criticize anyone and not get arrested. Hell, check Twitter and you will see people insulting Iraq and Afghanistan vets who died. :D

You can also disappear in the middle of the night and spend years being tortured and raped in Guantanamo bay. What makes the Americans different to somewhere like Turkey, the Americans understand that people with no power or influence barking on the internet or out on the streets has no effect on the system.

So by all means scream on twitter, it wont mean anything or effect any change. If you notice as well in america pretty much all the media is owned by 3 corporations which are bound to each other via various affiliations.

Sinan has a habit of attacking gurbetcis.

He accused some users in this forum of being backward immigrants.
My best friends are gurbetcis. But yeah, other than my friends some gurbetcis are really backwards.

I think because of the discrimination that you had in your countries, you want to say that your fatherland is good, or at least you want to think it that way but it's not.

Gurbetcis are very hard workers and sacrifice a lot for their children. Just like my dad and mum eventhough they support akp and erdogan I love them dearly and a lot.

You dont know anything apart from attacking your own people. Good job.

Saying some gurbetcis are backward is not attacking my people.

Literally, why minister of technology talks about an arm procurement, like how qualified you are to take part considering "positive approach" on Russia's offer while you are not ,whatsoever,a decision making authority on the matter? Why seeking for attention like twitter girls?
He is not even in SSIK.
İsmail demir was right about his speech earlier notifying some other "ministers" about defense industry is being their own responsibility.

There is nothing wrong with criticism and it is a duty of patriots of any country

One is not a patriot who is a self hater and bring his own people down. Sinan also personally attacked a user, Timur by calling him a backward gurbetci.
