Prabowo awards Medals and Plaques to Thousands of Former Pro-Indonesian Timorese Militias


Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto has awarded Medals and Patriot Plaques to 11,485 former Pro-Integration militia members that supported Indonesia during the Timor Leste conflict. It was given symbolically to 23 representatives. One of which was Eurico Guterres, a know militia leader of the time. Prabowo stated that the awards were a proof of commitment of the Nation to those that have fought for the nation and people of Indonesia.

Well, so, will there be actual assistance coming up soon, are is it really just a bunch of medals for people who have been demanding financial, educational, and land assistance for decades at this point?

Everything started from recognition though, they had fought and bleed for Indonesian cause, whatever method they do and whatever image they carry until today, they do it for Indonesian cause at the end of story and we must recognize them and give them attention they are deserved including their children and families who had been implicated for their deeds.

Make me think, how if we make a company dedicated for all of this respected people. So, it's like a group that put it's money in any possible sector that have a potentials in Atambua and around. So what we are doing is, we help these guys and make more jobs to the people of Atambua. Any words ?

Actually, I really think this is a good idea.

In fact, if one of our many business elites decide to do this, set up a foundation for those who are ex-timorese freedom fighters, I'm sure that person will end up with a private militia.
