A350 Aileron Design and Manufacturing Program​


The scope of the A350 Aileron Program consists of the design, manufacturing and after sales support of the Ailerons for A350 XWB long range, wide body jet Airliner developed by Airbus as a risk sharing partner. Ailerons which are designed and manufactured by TAI, are delivered to Airbus Bremen facilities. The final assembly line of the A350 XWB is at Airbus's Toulouse facilities in France.

The first flight of A350-900 Aircraft has been successfully completed on 14 June 2014 and the customer delivery has been started on 22 December 2014. The first flight of A350-1000 Aircraft has been successfully completed on 24 November 2016 and the customer delivery started at the end of 2017.

Airbus A400M Program

A400M is the first program that enabled Turkish Aerospace to gain capability and responsibility of a whole life cycled aerospace product starting from concept design studies to after sale logistics support activities. Turkish Aerospace workshare in A400M Program includes design and manufacture of structural components as Forward Center Fuselage with Emergency Exit Door, Section 17 Upper Shell with Rear Hatch Door, Paratroper Doors, Tailcone, Ailerons and Spoilers. Turkish Aerospace has also manufacturing responsibility of all fuselage harnesses. Turkish Aerospace has first level design and procurement responsibility on lighting system (except cockpit) and water and waste system.

After intensive development phases, first delivery of the product was accomplished in July 2006. Serial production activities still continue in accordance with the schedule.

LR VTP Rudder Program​


The scope of the LR Rudder Program consists of the production of the rudder component for both -200 and -300 versions of the Airbus A330 Aircraft with the loose items that will be used at the next assembly. All the composite detail parts of the component are produced at the TAI's facilities in Kazan/Ankara.

Completed Rudder components are shipped to the Stade Facility of Airbus for VTP assembly. Within the scope of the Program, as a single source supplier, TAI is responsible to provide the production and after sales support for all the Airbus A330 wide body aircraft through the service life of the product.

Airbus A220 Series Canopy Program​


Turkish Aerospace manufactures and assembles Airbus A220 Series Canopy and Windshield components for A220-100 and A220-300 aircrafts.

Components deliver to final assembly line in Montreal, Canada.

A321/320/319 SEC-18 Panels of Fuselage Program​


The scope of the Airbus SA Sec-18 Program is to manufacture upper, lower, left and right panels of section 18 of the fuselage for A320 family aircrafts with the loose items which will be used at the next assemblies.

The contract was signed in 1998 and first delivery achieved in year 2001. Sole source agreement was signed in June 2011 between TAI and Airbus which leads TAI to become sole source from July 2014 and on.

AIRBUS - PAG SA Section 19 Shells&Barrel Program​


Airbus and Turkish Aerospace has signed the contract related with the manufacturing of Single Aisle (A319/320/321) Aircraft Section 19, on 29 April 2015 with the participation of Senior Executives of each Company. Turkish Aerospace is delivering Section 19 Shells to Premium Aerotec Augsburg facilities and delivering Section 19 Barrels to RUAG Oberpfaffenhofen facilities. Following the mating operation of these Barrels with Section 18 Panels, which are also manufactured by Turkish Aerospace, complete section 18+19 is being delivered to Airbus Hamburg FAL facilities.

AW139 Helicopter Fuselage Manufacturing Program​


In the scope of AW139 Program, the fuselage of AW139 Helicopter is being manufactured for Italian Leonardo Company in Turkish Aerospace facilities.

The first fuselage manufactured in Turkish Aerospace facilities was delivered in December 2006. Within the framework of the Contract with Leonardo Company, total 322 fuselages having various configurations will have been delivered until the end of 2017.

B737 Wing Tip Program​


The contract with Boeing-Seattle has been signed on 18 February 1999 for 600 s/s B737 Wing Tip manufacturing and delivery. The orders have been increased up to 800 s/s in 2004 and to 1000 s/s in 2005 due to high performance in the program.

895 s/s has been delivered as of December 2016.

B787 Programs​


Turkish Aerospace and Alenia have signed contract at 2007 to manufacture and deliver Boeing 787 Elevator and Cargo Barrier Components.

The contract have been renewed and signed between Boeing and Turkish Aerospace for all work content in 2014.

Serial production operations for -8, -9 and -10 series configurations are being carried out and Turkish Aerospace continues the production with a rate of 12 sets per month.

Turkish Aerospace is the single source manufacturer for 787 elevator and cargo barrier components.

Spirit AeroSystems Programs​


The scope of the Spirit AeroSystems Lot Time Assembly Programs includes the manufacturing and delivery of around 652 s/s per year to support 737, 747,767, and 777 Boeing Aircraft with the current rates. The program has started in 2002 with the first work package and extended with the addition of fifth work package in 2010. In the current situation, Program contract will finish until the end of 2023, but will extend until end of 2025. Deliveries of Turkish Aerospace in this program will increasingly continue parallel to serial production rates of Boeing aircrafts.

MK1 Cougar Program​


The cooperation between Airbus Helicopters (formerly Eurocopter) and TAI has started in 1997 with the signature of Cougar Helicopter program for Turkish Air Force requirements and has been continuing with the existing offset contract since 2002. Latest amendment 7 to the contract extends the contract duration till 2027.

Program scope is including Fuselage, Tail and Canopy components production.

JSF/F-35 Program​


JSF/F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (Lightning II) is a family of single-seat, single-engine, fifth generation multirole fighters to perform ground attack, reconnaissance and air defense missions with stealth capability.

The JSF/F-35 has three main models; the F-35A is a conventional takeoff and landing variant, the F-35B is a short take off and vertical-landing variant and the F-35C is a carrier-based variant.

Program participants are USA, UK, Italy, The Netherlands, Turkey, Canada, Australia, Norway and Denmark.

Industries of each participant countries have been contributing to the program. TAI – Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. has also undertaken important responsibilities.

One of the most complex structural sections of the aircraft, "F-35A Center Fuselage" is produced by TAI as a second source.

Other work-packages are "F-35 A/B/C Composite Components, F-35A Metallic Sub-Assemblies, F-35A Air Inlet Ducts and F-35 A/B/C Air-to-Ground Alternate Mission Equipment Pylon Manufacturing".

Some of the Technological Capabilities gained in the program are as follows;

Korean Utility Helicopter (KUH) Forward Fuselage Assembly Program​


In the scope of KUH Program, the forward fuselage assembly of KUH-Surion Helicopter is being manufactured for KAI Company in Turkish Aerospace facilities. With this contract which signed between Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) and Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. in 2012, TAI is going to manufacture and ship total 110 Forward Fusulage assembly until end of the 2020. During 2017, 66 Forward fuselages are planned tp be delivered to KAI.

Fokker Gulfstream Panels​


The contract with Fokker Aerostructures B.V. has been signed 25 March 2008 for 47 different Gulfstream G650 aircraft panels manufacturing and delivery.

Production started at year 2009 with 5, 8 ship sets and last year 2016 arrived to 72, 1 ship sets.

Because of high logistics performance, TAI was awarded with "Gold Logistics Award 2016" for year 2016 by Fokker Aerostructures B.V.

Sikorsky UH-60/MH-60​


Manufacturing Activities for 1328 S-70A Stabilator, 158 MH-60 Tail Cone & Tail Rotor Pylon and 840 Center Box has been successfully completed and production activities have started for current models.

With Multi Year 9 (MY9) Agreement signed on 2016, manufacturing activities for UH60M, HH series helicopter Tail Cone, Tail Rotor Pylon, Stabilator have started with duration of 5 years.

Additionally, in early 2017, Turkish Utility Helicopter Program (TUHP) Buyback contract has been signed for Cabin, Cockpit, Tail Cone, Tail Rotor Pylon, Stabilator and Composite Kits manufacturing for S-70I and T-70 series.

TAI s performance have continuously improved and rewarded with the "Supplier of The Year" award and World Class Supplier nominations.

T70 - TURKISH UTILITY HELICOPTER PROGRAM​


Within the scope of the “TUHP-Turkish Utility Helicopter Program”, T70 helicopters will be developed based on the S70i Helicopter of Sikorsky Aircraft. A total of 109 T70 Helicopters will be manufactured and delivered to Turkish Land Forces, Turkish Air Forces, General Command of Gendarmerie, Special Forces, Turkish National Police and Directorate of Forestry during next 10 years. TAI-Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. will be leading the program as a prime contractor of this program with other subcontractor companies; Sikorsky Aircraft, Aselsan, TEI and Alp Aviation.

TAI is responsible for manufacturing, final assembly operations, tests and integrated logistic support of all airframe structures and composite rotor blades. In addition to TAI’s work scope, TEI-Turkish Engine Industries will build engines under a license of GE-General Electric. Aselsan will develop and integrate avionics and will co-develop with Sikorsky Aircraft an enhanced digital cockpit known as the Integrated Modular Avionics System (IMAS); and Alp Aviation is responsible for production and assembly of landing gears, gearbox and dynamic components.

Within the scope of the Turkish Utility Helicopter Program, Turkey’s utility helicopter requirements will be met and Turkish industry will play a significant role in fulfilling domestic needs in military and civilian areas.

HÜRKUŞ​


New Generation Basic Trainer (HÜRKUŞ) Development Program contract was signed between the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries and Turkish Aerospace in March 2006. HÜRKUŞ with day and night mission capability; will be able to realize instrument flight, navigation and formation training phases.

Within the framework of the program; two aircraft configurations are being developed.

  • HÜRKUŞ-A: Basic version which is to be certified with EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) according to CS-23 requirements.
  • HÜRKUŞ-B: Advanced version with integrated avionics (including HUD, MFDs, and Mission Computer). Following the completion of taxi tests, the first aircraft of HÜRKUŞ-A Configuration successfully performed its first flight on August 29, 2013 at Turkish Aerospace's facilities. Consequent to the flight permission of SHGM (Turkish Civil Aviation General Directorate) and EASA the first flight, which lasted 33 minutes, was performed with open landing gear position at a height of 9500 ft. During the flight, the first checks were performed on control surfaces and a successful landing was realized.
The second aircraft has performed its first flight on September 10, 2014.

HÜRKUŞ, tandem two-seat, low-wing, single-engine, turboprop aircraft, is designed to ensure superior performance as a new generation advanced trainer aircraft and light attack & armed reconnaissance combat aircraft, in order to fulfil the complete training gap between elementary training and fighter aircraft conversion, as well as satisfying close air support roles in most demanding operational theatres.

HÜRKUŞ-C​


HÜRKUŞ, Basic and Primary Trainer Aircraft is designed to support different mission and operational requirements.

HÜRKUŞ-C, in addition to pilot training missions, is developed to provide a low cost and high accuracy solution to Light Attack/ Armed Reconnaissance missions.

Precise and Affordable All-In-One Multiple Mission Solution HÜRKUŞ-C, Light attack and armed reconnaissance combat variant, provides a cost effective flexible solution against asymmetric threats of the contemporary world’s warfare theatres. Retaining the advanced capabilities of HÜRKUŞ, up-to 7 external hard points on HÜRKUŞ-C provides its operators an extensive payload capacity up-to 1500 kg, which can be utilized to perform demanding missions, during day&night conditions in high altitudes and harsh geographies.

Peace Onyx I Program​


Turkish Aerospace manufactured and delivered a total of 152 F-16C/D aircraft in Block 30 and 40 configurations at the Turkish Aerospace's facilities to the Turkish Air Force (TurAF) under the Peace Onyx I Program between the years 1987-1995. The program covers a total of 160 F-16s, eight of which were produced in Forth-Worth, USA, and delivered directly to TurAF.

Under this program, Turkish Aerospace manufactured 70% of the airframe of the F-16 aircraft including aft, center fuselages and wings.

Peace Onyx II Program​


Under the follow on program of Peace Onyx I, Turkish Aerospace produced a total of 80 F-16C/D aircraft in Block 50 configuration during the 1995-1999 period for the Turkish Air Force. With the Peace Onyx II Program, the manufacturing percentage of Turkish Aerospace, as far as airframe is concerned, reached 80% with the addition of flaperons and the stuffing tasks for the forward fuselage to the airframe components manufactured in the first program.

Among the 278 F-16 aircraft produced at Turkish Aerospace's facilities, three were “Perfect” and 29 were with “Zero Discrepancy.”

EGYPT F-16 Program​


Turkish Aerospace produced 46 F-16s for the Egyptian Air Force between 1993 and 1995 under the agreement signed between the Governments of Turkey, USA and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Peace Onyx IV F-16 Program​


In December 2006, Undersecreteriat for Defense Industries was given the authorization by the Defence Industry Executive Committee for the procurement of 30 Block 50+ F-16 Aircraft from Lockheed Martin through Foreign Military Sales Program. In this scope, an LOA was signed between Turkish Aerospace and the main contractor Lockheed Martin on December 5, 2008.

Under this contract Turkish Aerospace has successfully performed the assembly and flight operations of 30 F-16 Block50+ and all aircrafts were delivered earlier than the scheduled delivery dates to Turkish Air Force with 7 "Perfect" and 19 "Zero Defect" quality at TAI's facilities . Project, as planned, was finalized in December 2012 with an outstanding success.

RJAF F-16 Program​


Within the scope of the contract, signed between TAI and Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF), regarding the Falcon-up, Falcon Star and Mid Life Upgrade (MLU) modernization of 17 Block 15 F-16s, TAI has successfully completed the program by modernizing and delivering 12 F-16 aircraft and providing the required technical assistance for the five F-16 aircraft modernization, which is under RJAF’s responsibility, in accordance with its contractual obligations.

F-16 Modernization Serial Program​


The program covers the serial avionic modernization of 165 TurAF F-16s.

The contract between The Undersecretariat for the Defense Industry (SSM) and TAI was signed on 31 August 2009. The modernization of 149 F-16s are being performed by Turkish Aerospace at Turkish Aerospace's facilities while the modernization of remaining 16 F-16s are being performed by 1.MMC in Eskişehir under TAI’s supervision.



PAF F-16 Modernization​


As the result of the tender opened by Pakistan Air Force regarding the modernization of 41 F-16 Aircraft, Turkish Aerospace has been selected as the contractor.

The contract has been signed on 29 June 2009.

The modernization activities started in the last quarter of 2010 by receiving first 3 F-16 to Turkish Aerospace's facilities.

PO III Modernization Program​


Within the content of the agreement with US Government regarding the TurAF F-16s avionic modernization, Turkish Aerospace has signed a contract with Lockheed Martin including the modernization of 10 F-16s at TAI's facilities and kit accumulation for the serial modernization activities.

The modernization activities of 10 F-16s were completed.

T38 Avionics Modernization​


TAI as a prime contractor was awarded a contract in June 21st, 2007 by SSM (Undersecreteriat for Defense Industries) to design, develop and implement the T-38 avionics upgrade for the Turkish Air Force (TurAF) under the T-38 Avionics Modernization (ARI) Program.

Under the T-38 Avionics Modernization (ARI) Program which commenced in September 20th, 2007; a total of 55 TurAF T-38A aircraft are to be upgraded. The modification of five aircraft will be performed at TAI facilities where as the remaining 50 production aircraft will be modified at TurAF 1st Air Supply and Maintenance Center.

TAI, delivered first T38M aircrat to TurAF at a ceremony held at TAI's facilities in Ankara, Turkey, on April 20, 2012.

ERCIYES (C-130)​


In accordance with the contract signed between SSM and Turkish Aerospace in Dec. 2006, the avionic system of 13 C-130E and 6 C-130B aircraft of TurAF is being modernized.

Once completed, the aircraft will comply with GATM, RVSM and CAT-II ILS requirements. The new avionic system fully NVIS capable, have a glass cockpit with 4 MFDs, 2 CDUs and 2 Multi Mission Computers.

Within the scope of the Erciyes Avionics Modernization Program, Turkish Aerospace performs design, integration test and check-out of the system for 2 prototypes, install 4 serial aircrafts and deliver the kits for the modification of remaining 13 aircraft. Installation of these 13 aircraft will be made by TurAF 2nd Air Supply and Maintenance Center. The after delivery support of the whole system will be made by Turkish Aerospace.

With the realization of the Erciyes Program, Turkish Aerospace will take a significant advantage to meet the modernization requirements of all countries that use C-130 aircraft.

PEACE EAGLE (AEW&C)​


Within the Peace Eagle Project, Turkey purchases four B737 AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning and Control) aircraft and GSS (Ground Support Station) from Boeing Co. of USA. Turkish Aerospace and Boeing signed a subcontract on 28 Jan 2004 covering “Modification, System installation, Tests and Delivery“ activities. Per the program, while first A/C activities were carried out at Seattle-USA, the other three A/C activities were performed at Turkish Aerospace facilities.

Besides the modifications, all functional test activities of new or modified systems together with all periodical, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities are conducted by Turkish Aerospace.

MELTEM II (CN-235)​


Meltem II Program, the contract of which became effective in September 2002, is a systems integration program, covering the acquirement of Maritime Patrol/Surveillance capability for the nine CN-235 platforms, produced at TAI’s facilities for the Turkish Naval Forces and Coast Guard Commands.

Under the program, the prime contractor of which is THALES Airborne Systems (TAS), TAI acts as the subcontractor responsible for installation of important parts on the aircraft.

Within the framework of the program, design of electrical power distribution and management system-PDMS- as well as cabin equipments and lighting system of mission systems are realized by TAI. Moreover, our Company is also responsible for production of all required detail parts, harness bundles, tools and preparing technical documentation and training within the Integrated Logistic Support scope. Modificaton of serial A/C is also performed by TAI.

MELTEM III (ATR-72)​


The contract of the Meltem III Program, covering the procurement of a total of 6 ATR72-600 aircraft and their modification into Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) configuration for the Turkish Navy was signed between Alenia Aermacchi S.p.A and TAI on July, 2012. The first ATR72-600 aircraft arrived at TAI's facilities on April 19, 2013.

Within the framework of the program, as main sub-contractor of Alenia, all modification activities will be carried out at TAI's facilities. TAI's work share includes Kit-A and tools manufacturing, procurement of material and support equipment, structural and electrical modification, assembly, test, Ground Flight Support and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities.

GÖKBEY MULTIROLE UTILITY HELICOPTER

GÖKBEY Multirole Helicopter is a new generation, twin engine, 6 ton class helicopter developed in response to the growing market demand for higher mission flexibility in this class.

GÖKBEY is designed and optimized to meet and exceed the multi-mission requirements for hot & high geographical environments and for adverse weather conditions. The aircraft incorporates several new technology features to provide the highest levels of safety and operational benefits for operators.

Within the scope of the contract signed between Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. and Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) in 2013, GÖKBEY Multirole Helicopter is being developed for both domestic and international markets.

The platform has a five-bladed main rotor and a four-bladed tail rotor to minimize vibration and noise. Both main and tail rotor hubs are fully-articulated with elastomeric bearings. Both rotor systems are driven by a transmission system which consists of the three-stage main gear box having the capability of operation for 30 minutes in the event of loss of lubrication. Within the scope of the program, critical systems such as transmission system, rotor system and landing gears as well as aerostructures are designed from scratch in Turkish Aerospace.

GÖKBEY has state-of-the art ASELSAN avionics with glass cockpit having two wide touchscreen (8x20 inches) Integrated Mission Displays and two touch screen (8x10 inches) data entry Touch Command Control Unit. A 4-axis dual redundant automatic flight control system is developed to provide superior performance and handling quality.

The cockpit provides a comfortable and high visibility environment for both pilots. GÖKBEY cabin is designed for comfortable seating for 12 passengers. The extensive cabin space can be configured to meet the requirements of multi-purpose operations such as cargo, VIP transportation, ambulance, off-shore and search & rescue operations. The geometry of the helicopter is optimized for maximum aerodynamic performance with retractable landing gears hence providing an efficient fuel consumption leading to better range and endurance.

GÖKBEY Multirole Helicopter incorporates two LHTEC (a Rolls Royce & Honeywell Partnership) CTS800 turboshaft engines, 1373 shp each, enabling the aircraft to perform in hot & high environments and perform safely in one engine loss condition for Category-A certification. GÖKBEY is designed for IFR and VFR single pilot operations, night operations and flight in known icing conditions.

Civil certification process of the Helicopter is ongoing with Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation which is planned to be followed by EASA (European Aviation Safety Authority) certification.

The first prototype aircraft has successfully performed its first flight on 6th of September 2018 at its facilities Ankara, Turkey. Serial production is expected to start after 2021.

T129 ATAK​


The “T129 ATAK" Multirole Combat Helicopter has been optimized for specific hot&high performance requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces. A tandem seat, twin-engine, NATO-interoperable attack helicopter optimized for attack, armed reconnaissance, precision strike and deep strike missions, at day and night all environments and regardless of weather conditions.

The T129 ATAK incorporates asymmetric weapon loading capability and enables the use of all weapons effectively according to mission requirements. For close combat support missions, a 20mm turreted gun with a capacity of 500 rounds and 70mm Classic Rockets with a capacity of 76 rockets have been integrated; whereas for multipurpose missions, 16 x CIRIT® 70mm Laser Guided Air-to-Ground Missiles, 8 x UMTAS® Long Range Anti-Tank Missiles and 8 x STINGER® Air-to-Air Missiles are integrated, as well as the state of the art EW systems and EO systems.

The T129 ATAK cockpit provides situational awareness through good visibility arcs and integrated mission and communication systems. Aselflir-300T targeting sight system increases image quality and range performance with real-time image processing and multiple target tracking with a thermal camera, laser rangefinder, designator and spot tracker. AVCI®-Helmet Mounted Display System provides integrated display capabilities to crew for extensive mission.

Within the scope of the Turkish ATAK Program, a total of 91 (59 + 32 optional) T129 ATAK Helicopters will be delivered to Turkish Land Forces and 27 (24 + 3 optional) T129 ATAK Helicopters will be delivered to Ministry of Interior.

AKSUNGUR UAV​

ANKA, advanced Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) class Unmanned Aerial System, performs day and night, all-weather reconnaissance, target detection / identification and intelligence missions with its EO/IR and SAR payloads, featuring autonomous flight capability including Automatic Take-off and Landing.

ANKA incorporates a heavy-fuel engine and electro-expulsive Ice Protection System with an Advanced Ground Control Station and dual datalink allowing operational security and ease.

The system is expandable with a Transportable Image Exploitation Station, Radio Relay, Remote Video Terminal and SATCOM.

ŞİMŞEK​


Being an indigenous Design and Development program, ŞİMŞEK High Speed Target Drone System program was initiated in 2009 to meet the increased training requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF).

System will meet the requirements of high speed target drone simulating enemy aircraft and missiles for air to air, ground to air, anti-aircraft gunnery and missile systems’ tracking and firing trainings. Open architecture design of ŞİMŞEK High Speed Target Drone System can be modified with respect to end user requirements.

GÖKTÜRK-1​


The GÖKTÜRK-1 contract was signed between Ministry of National Defense Undersecretariat for Defense Industries and TELESPAZIO on 13th July 2009.

Within the program, Turkish Aerospace is performing direct participation to specific work packages and also manufacturing some flight components for the GÖKTÜRK-1 Satellite.

The objective of GÖKTÜRK-1 Program is to procure a satellite with an Electro Optical (EO) payload in order to provide high resolution images from any location in the world for both military and civilian purposes such as forest control, illegal construction, crop management and casualty assessment after natural disasters.

With the GÖKTÜRK-1 Project, not only the national capabilities and resources for the space systems (such as new technologies, experienced manpower and infrastructure) will be developed but also Satellite Assembly Integration Test Center will be used for next generation national satellite programs as a strategic investment.

GÖKTÜRK-2​


The GÖKTÜRK-2 Program has been funded by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and conducted by the Turkish Aerospace & TUBITAK Space team under the coordination of Ministry of National Defense between 2007-2012.

The GÖKTÜRK-2 System and mission have been indigenously designed by Turkish engineers. In the framework of the Project, Turkish Aerospace has performed the following activities regarding the GÖKTÜRK-2 Satellite;

- Structural System design, analysis, manufacturing and test

- Thermal Control System design, analysis, integration and test

- Attitude and Orbit Control System design, integration and test

- System accommodation design

- Commissioning of the Thermal Vacuum Chamber (TVC) established at TAI AIT Facilities

- Thermal tests of the Satellite Qualification Model and Flight Model (at TAI TVC)

- Alignment measurements of the Satellite Models (QM, FM)

- Deployment tests of Solar Panels for the Satellite Models (QM, FM)

- Management of Satellite and Launch Vehicle compatibility

TÜRKSAT 6A​


In order to fulfill the requirements of Turkish Satellite Operator Company TÜRKSAT, the contract for the "TÜRKSAT 6A National Communication Satellite Development and Production" Project, which was initiated under the coordination of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), was signed on December 15th, 2014.


The financial budget for the program has been granted by the Republic of Turkey, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, TÜRKSAT and TÜBİTAK. TÜRKSAT 6A as the first indigenous telecommunication satellite of Turkey, has planned to be developed in cooperation with national industries and institutes with a work share model based on complementary competencies of the participants.


Within the scope of TURKSAT 6A Project; design and manufacturing work packages for Satellite Structural, Thermal Control, Chemical Propulsion Subsystems and Harness and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment are under the responsibility of Turkish Aerospace. Additionally, Turkish Aerospace, together with TÜBİTAK Space, takes part in Satellite On-Board Data Handling Software, Command & Control Software and Assembly, Integration and Test activities.
The assembly, integration and test activities of TÜRKSAT 6A Satellite are performed at the Space Systems Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) Center at Turkish Aerospace Facilities in Ankara.


The satellite is planned to be located in to 42°E geostationary orbit for the operation of National Satellite Operator Company, TÜRKSAT. The spacecraft will have a launch mass of more than 4 tons.
TÜRKSAT 6A will bring extended capabilities and additional capacity for high and secure data transfer applications with 20 Ku-Band transponders that can be operated simultaneously

GSATCOM Small Size HTS Satellite is the telecommunication satellite platform, which is capable of accommodating a wide range of commercial payloads and missions; from TV broadcasting to multimedia applications, internet access and mobile or fixed services in a wide range of frequency bands. GSATCOM Satellite’s new, modular and flexible design, boosts global industry’s ability to play a significant role in commercial telecommunication satellites.


The satellite is a small sized platform which would potentially employ various frequency bands such as; Ka, Ku, X, C, S, L, UHF or any other telecommunication payloads according to the necessities.

A finely optimized modular design approach was selected as a baseline in HTS Satellite solution to meet diversified customer requirements. The design of the satellite is based on previous experiences of Turkish Aerospace’s earth observation and telecommunication platforms.

MINI CONTROL MOMENT GYROSCOPE FLIGHT MODELS​


Large torque amplification and momentum storage capacity are the two basic properties that make Control Moment Gyroscopes (CMGs) superior when compared to the reaction and momentum wheels commonly used in spacecraft attitude control. These actuators have been used in a number of large spacecrafts such as ISS (International Space Station). For a specified torque level, single gimbal CMG based systems exhibit benefits in power requirements, agility, weight and size over their competitors such as reaction wheels.

Because of their inherent torque amplification property, CMGs are best for missions which require agility, such as stereoscopic imaging, formation flying, ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) missions, disaster monitoring, deep space scientific imaging missions and other high precision target tracking. Higher slew rates can be achieved by CMG systems with superior swap specifications.

Besides their many advantages, singularity problems (no torque capability along a particular direction) make the use of reaction wheels a real challenge. Hopefully in-house steering logics can avoid such undesired states for CMG operations.

Moment Control Gyroscope Flight Models and integrated driver & attitude control software have been developed and qualified (on ground) by Turkish Aerospace.

New Projects​



In order to meet Turkish Air Force (TurAF) requirements beyond 2030s, an indigenous design and development program aims to replace the aging F-16 fleet of TurAF.

Within the scope of TF-X Program, Turkey will become one of the few countries to possess the necessary technologies, engineering infrastructure and production capabilities. Once the engineering activities on all the critical technologies are accomplished (e.g. increased situational awareness, sensor fusion, low observability, weapon bay, …etc), which are needed by a 5th generation (or beyond) jet fighter aircraft.

TF-X aircraft is planned to be kept operational in the TurAF inventory until 2070s and will be interoperable with other critical assets of TurAF such as F-35As.

The TF-X indigenous design and development program prime contract between Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) of Ministry of Turkish National Defence and Turkish Aerospace has been signed on 5th of August 2016.

The timing of this signature alone, is a key demonstrator of Turkey’s determination of running mega-projects uninterruptedly, even under extra-ordinary conditions.

Currently, the prime contract covers the initial four (4) years (starting after signature of major subcontracts) which will end up with completion of preliminary design phase. Within this period beyond the design and development of TF-X Aircraft, engineering capabilities, technology development activities (for key sensors like radar, electronic warfare..etc.), test infrastructures establishment and certification processes will be performed and extensive capabilities for a new generation jet fighter design, development and production will be gained by Turkish industry.

HÜRJET​


ADVANCED JET TRAINER AND LIGHT ATTACK AIRCRAFT​

Advanced Jet Trainer and Light Attack Aircraft HÜRJET is a single engine, tandem-seat with modern avionics and high-performance features, fulfills a critical role in modern pilot training through its superior performance characteristics.​

Combat variant provides a battlefield force multiplier through a wide range of mission capabilities and an extensive payload.

HÜRJET Project has started to fulfil international and Turkish Air Force requirements by replacing aging T-38s as Advanced Jet Trainers (AJT) and F-5s as Acrobatic Team Aircrafts with a modern high performance multirole aircraft.

In addition to these, HÜRJET’s capabilities also extent to:

  • Replacing aging jet trainers, majority of which are 20 or more years old.
  • Being used as Advanced Jet Trainers due to the increasing number of 5th generation aircrafts (TFX, F-35, etc.) and their changing configurations
Considering the multirole aircraft market, Turkish Aerospace has started HÜRJET Program with the intention of targeting the potential in the market by benefiting from its experience and skills on cost effective design/production of trainer/light aircraft/system.

10 TON UTILITY HELICOPTER​


A 10-ton utility helicopter with military configuration suitable for search and rescue and offshore operations will be developed. The helicopter will be designed to meet wide range of operational requirements, and will have a large and high cabin, a rear down-ramp and retractable landing gear.

The helicopter will be designed to carry 20+ personnel, with a maximum speed of 170 knots, and have a range of 1000 km.

10-ton utility helicopter will accommodate advanced avionics and mission systems.

MULTIROLE HEAVY COMBAT HELICOPTER​


"Heavy Duty Attack Helicopter" is designed with completely local capacities.

Conceived as a combination of T129 ATAK and T625,Heavy Duty Attack Helicopter is using the sub-systems such as transmission, rotor systems and landing gears developed under the T625 Utility Helicopter Project as well as the technological know-how, operational experience and achievements gained through the T129 ATAK Helicopter Project. Heavy Duty Attack Helicopter, will be a combat helicopter that can successfully perform its missions in harsh geographical and environmental conditions, which will have increased payload capacity and modern avionic systems alongside with high performance and low maintenance cost.
