TEI working on aeroderivative gas turbine engines for naval use
Ethem Sancak also talked about this saying they will develop the aeroderivative engine for the future Turkish aircraft carrier. Probably as a function of TRmotor company where both BMC and TAI are party to while TEI is a subsidiary of TAI. Lucky of us they don't push this work to the far future for when the carrier work begins. This can also pave the way to large civilian turbofan engines from where the derivative engines are usually derived from albeit in reverse way. UK aircraft carrier QE is powered by a pair of such engines. Todos Kudos

I don't like emojis, but one emoji for each highlighted part deserves this when altogether:
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Note: For a moment he/they should stop being a scene-success thief and focus their own job, neither aircraft carrier, or aeroderivative gas turbine is his or their profession or makes sense. TEI-TAI is already on job so leave them to do their work.

Thing wouldn't happen if it was not for Ethem Sancak. Others did not even dare nor did they want to give Turkey the power we need.

There is now a competition going on between the various defence industries who all try to diversify their portfolio as much as possible. I don't think that some of them will reach 2030 if it continuous on like this. Reminds me of the USA in the '60 with the existence of a large number of small military corporations slowly being bought and absorbed by others in the '80-'00.

It seems to be the natural way of things. Initiatives are initiated by pioneers and when they are bearing fruit they are consolidated and reorganized for better productivity and optimization of resources. Loving it.

It is actually some people are provoking President and pampering his supporters on sensitive matter for sake of their personal gains, not national gains.
To be a pioneer you should have a background on matters you are talking, the background should either come from experience or education. He,neither his company has any knowledge on Marine gas turbines or Aircraft carrier propulsion. Just bragging for the above mentioned reason.
People like him speaks a lot does a little, people like the ones in TEI speaks a few and achieves real things.

We know some of these companies are still there for a single reason. This is not a competition, this is exploiting his relation to President by provoking him on issues he shouldn't have spoken of. He can speak Altay Tank, Engine of the Tank, Modernization of Leo, The factory his company establishing, The modernization or upgrades his company done on Tank Palet, not about Aircraft carrier, and its gas turbine propulsion.
He specifically knows he can get super duper investments from state by exploiting the sensitivity on Aircraft carrier matter, while there are more crucial projects we should have been investing in human power and financially.
I don't see any reason to not get LM2500 or RR's gas turbine -gensets if Aircraft project really happens, it will definitely be IEP , not conventional propulsion. Also it will be a deal of making gensets, making electricity distribution of the ship, not reduction gears and shafting, but podded propeller and large&durable electric engines to propel the ship. When the time comes, if we had the gas turbine then we will face challenges on the aforementioned matters, much before than dealing with the engine.

Now the state has a say in the sale of strategic companies in Turkey. This decision was made to prevent the company from being taken over by foreigners in the event of a situation contrary to National Security.

ES is a journalist of education, or had a newspaper at some point. He was also in TBMM at some point. He provides the money and gets to cash in and brag.

You need to look harder to see the reasons why we can be denied the engines we want from RR and GE. And LM2500 is only good up to mid size ships. Electric conversion is a costly thing in terms of fuel consumption. You only get half the efficiency of when you use combustion directly. Therefore you want to use combustion mainly for propulsion and you will use electric for Electromagnetic catapult, railguns, laserguns and to recharge other onboard electric battery systems.

Challenges will always be there and challengers will be there to tackle them.

How much energy you think is wasted at reduction gears & shafts? How much does it cost in time and money to main those, how much noise does is create, or whether we have any chance of producing gearboxes and shafting for big engines you refer to?
Or do you even know why did we prefer more diesel engines on TCG Anadolu instead of much capable in capacity- gas turbines?
Or do i need to tell you MT30 used on Queen Elizabeth class has 25-40 MW while 4th gen LM2500 has 35 MW output, and similar in weight and sizes?
The leading navies are not stupid to switch on IEP, it is much more efficient to balance energy demand, i cant lecture you here on ship electric systems and how its capacity is decided. Spare some time to learn, and then we can discuss.

UAE will surely hope to buy that if possible. Singapore also do the same with their ST engineering, buying European defense companies which are about to collapse.

It is not a clear cut decision to go for IEP. There are ups and downs to each system. And the list of large IEP ships is still a very short one. The complexity of electrical systems of an IEP ship causes unexpected problems which happened to the second of the US Zumwalt class ship during trials. And they are trying to change the ships concept to a stealth mission. Unless you want stealth missions you are losing some of the major advantages of an IEP system. They are not mature systems as I understand it.

Same was told for CODAG in the past, as it is unreliable, complex, prone to fail. People has told that even for CODAD that it complicates the mechanism thus adding more propeller was favored.
IEP is not for being stealth, that is a result of the IEP not the reason; it is the future, the step before rail guns and laser guns, compared to past nowadays ships carry more fuel for generators, the power demand of electronics has increased remarkably. The warfare relies on electricity more than it does to mechanical power.
If we are not stepping into this, 10 years later we will watch from afar as they fire their rail guns, using laser AA systems, we will be applying interim solutions by installing a dozen of generators which will be idling when not used, carrying more fuel then they do and able to fire as quarter of them.

How good are we with 3d printing? I have posted this before PDF, 3d printing on engine is next level. Lighter and stronger engine can be produce, but it will cost money.

Look this guy one of the first who used 3d printing with manifold used on race cars. Againg he used with exhoust manifold. Achieved with little engine more then 1000 hp.

The guy is next level, i am a old fan of the genius.

Dutch article about printed pistons, Greece tuner with a printed pistons achieve 3000hp engine.

Check the crazy pistons designed by panapoulos...
