Qatar military aircraft and personnel will be deployed in Turkey

  • The number of aircraft to be deployed cannot be more than 36 and the number of personnel cannot be more than 250.
  • Turkey will be able to use Qatar's transport planes
  • Technical Regulation will remain in effect for 5 years
  • DDUI (Permanent Diplomatic Flight Permit) numbers will be used for training flights planned to be performed in Turkish Airspace. The said DDUI will be renewed every year. It starts with the DDUI KAT/001 issued for the year 2020.

This move must have been made to guarantee the superiority of the Turkish Air Force in the Aegean and E. Med until the TfX, Hürjet and F16T Özgür platforms become operational.

Holy crap Boeing C-17's and Super Hercules will come in extremely handy. Our A400's are already pushed to their limit so these are a welcome surprize. The rest can easely be one of their air superiority fighter jets, which might fill our stop-gap needs for maintaining air dominance in the Med Sea.

Some of Qatar Rafale aircrafts have been in Turkey for a while. With the entry into force of this deal, I think Rafale aircrafts won't return to Qatar and Qatar will send additional air superiority aircrafts as well.
