Raytheon has unveiled the Compact Affordable AESA Radar for space, weight, power & cost-constrained tactical platforms. The GaN-based AESA radar features DBF, weighs < 100 lb and is designed to be integrated onto light-attack aircraft, helicopters, UAV's or stationary platforms.
As per Raytheon, CAAR's architecture is aimed at producing a lightweight radar that costs 50% less and is up to 80% lighter while using 65% of the power of comparable legacy AESA radar systems.
