TR Army Roketsan Karaok to enter Turkish army inventory this year

MATADOR is not a rocket propelled grenade (RPG, Panzerfaust-3) but a recoilless rifle similar like the Carl Gustaf.

The propulsion system is typical of rocket-propelled weapons, with a very short-lived booster, and a sustainer motor that propels the projectile through most of its flight. Booster and motor both are solid fuel rockets.

You might be confusing MATADOR with Armburst.

Anyway neither RPG nor recoilless rifle is not easier than Karaok/Javelin if we are speaking about average level of education and IQ.

RPG, Carl Gustaf also need to be well trained on the other hand using those you feel psychological pressure since they aren't guided, they have anourmous blast and very close range to enemy.

seems like a great weapon this area the equalivent of (Javelin) will be covered however Turkish army still lacks a more compact simple to use by single soldier weapon like Matador.

Turkish company named Assav already produces Carl Gustav copy.I assume it's just a matter of time before TSK gets their hands on it(if they haven't already),considering it also comes with thermobaric grenade which is great for the terrain they operate in.

Javelin/ Karaok are user friendly and comfortable

I think it is about the range if you use it for long range 2500m on open terrain the Javelin or Karaok will be better and for close range in residential areas i would prefer something like Matador.

If commando brigades were equipped with these weapons during the hendek savaşı it would be so effective and easy to take out insurgents hiding inside buildings.

For residential areas NLAW and AT4-CS (Confined Space) -which can be fired from closed rooms - are great. AT4-CS is always welcome...

Regarding Hendek savaşı wheeled IFVs with 90mm low pressured guns were the best solution As Turkish soldiers didn't need to hide themselves. Recall that terrorists need weapons which can be fired from hidden places.

I once asked a Roketsan engineer about why firing test are done in stationary platforms. He said there is a couple of rules that's restricting the shoulder firing tests. Like a law or something. They need to first shoot the missile from a stationary platform a many times, then they can proceed to real shoulder firing test.

7.9 kg, its actually a bit lighter than Carl Gustav M3 which is 8.5 kg if I remember correctly.

Well that seems to be basic workplace health and safety law. You can't put untested anti-tank missile to someones shoulder and hope for the best.

Testing from stationary platforms are understandable but it would be great if they publish videos for shoulder launch versions. (Both sungur and atgms)

No info about Karaok has been published in over a year,with the exeption of Malasiyan deal for 18 launchers and 108 missiles.
