Super Mega project: China plans world’s biggest dam build in Tibet and divert water from Tibet to Xinjiang

China plans to build the world’s biggest hydroelectric dam on the Yarlung Tsangpo river in the Tibetan Autonomous Region, according to China’s state-owned media.

When completed, the mega-dam project will generate 60 gigawatts and have three times more hydroelectric capacity than the world's current largest dam, the Three Gorges of China.

It's reported that the dam will be completed before 2035.

The dam also will be the source of the water diversion project transfering water from Tibet to Xinjiang Taklamakan desert.
