Grob 120TP aircraft
The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed a contract with German company Grob Aircraft for seven Basic Trainer Aircraft and simulators.
The contract also includes provision of Computer Based Training and flight safety equipment such as helmets, parachutes and life jackets for the first phase of the training as well as maintenance of the aircraft and simulators. The aircraft model that the Air Force will operate is the Grob 120TP, FMV said in a release.

The new training aircraft will replace old SK60s which first flew in 1963.
The first delivery of aircraft will take place as early as May 2022 to FMV for testing. They will then begin to be phased into the Air Force during the first quarter of 2023. In 2023, it is intended that the Flight School's instructors will begin to fly into the system, in order to begin training new students in the summer of 2024.
