The problem is that the moment the PKK project is dead, the moment all those top PKK/SDF cadres are dead meat/weight
I dont think Europe or the US would even bother to house in terrorists and dead weight when their expiration date is nearly over since their crimes are bound to be revealed one day and both Syria and Turkey will ask for their heads
IMO, this is just a ploy to stall for time. They need more time to try and persuade the US to stay and for Israel to get more involved while strengthening the Iranian(hezbollah)/PKK alliance
The SDF is trying to turn back Syria into chaos again so that neither Turkey nor the new Syrian govt becomes too focused on them

Video of another abandoned military base in Syria. The video shows Syrian military equipment, Soviet and Russian production. Abandoned tanks T-90A, T-72, T-55. Also visible in the frame is the ZSU-23-4 Shilka air defense system, infantry fighting vehicles and other military equipment of the Syrian army.

As far as I know, majority of the gas is in HTS's hands. They are only buying oil for now (afaik)
