US attacks Islamic State in Syria

10 timer • 2 min read

US aircraft have hit over 75 targets, including Islamic State training camps in Syria, the command announced.

The United States carried out a series of airstrikes against the Islamic State (IS) movement in Syria on Sunday.

This was announced by the central command unit, Centcom, in the US Department of Defense.

US forces have carried out "dozens of precision strikes" against IS training camps as well as the extremist Islamist movement's leaders and foot soldiers.

Over 75 targets linked to IS have reportedly been hit.

This happened as part of "the ongoing mission to disrupt, weaken and defeat" Islamic State, Centcom writes on the social media X.

"Evaluation of the damage is underway. There are no signs of civilian casualties," it added.

It is not the first time this year that the United States has targeted Islamic State. But Sunday's attack comes in the wake of a lightning offensive by the rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which has toppled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

"We will not allow ISIS to re-emerge and take advantage of the current situation in Syria," said General Michael Erik Kurilla in the statement from Centcom.

- All organizations in Syria must know that we will hold them accountable if they cooperate with or support ISIS in any way.

The United States is at the head of an international coalition that, together with Kurdish forces, could declare the Islamic State defeated in Syria and Iraq in 2019.

Five years earlier, the movement had proclaimed a caliphate - that is, an Islamic rule.

According to the Reuters news agency, the US has 900 soldiers in Syria and another 2,500 in Iraq.

The American soldiers are working to advise and support local forces trying to prevent a resurgence of the Islamic State.

The movement still has cells and militant fighters in Syria, among other places, who occasionally carry out isolated attacks.

Considering that the US has repeatedly declared the complete destruction of the Islamic State, it is obvious that it will exist, even if only as a ghost, as long as the Pentagon needs a strategic foothold in the Middle East called the State of Israel  :)

Never heard of the guy but wish him the best....
You sometimes write in the same forum with charlatans who propagate that they are serving the Palestinian cause by occupying Syria, that's why I gave it as an anecdote. I forgot my password for there, they don't send a password recovery email either. lol.

Today Israel have occupied new territories inside Syria

I feel sorry for the Syrians because if they said something or object, it will be seen as threat and Israel will play the victim card

Either they keep silent and more lands get lost or they do something and the west will cry about it and defend their beloved friend

TAF is acting very passively. The bases that the Russians have abandoned must be destroyed with airstrikes, just after they left. For example, in Aynel Arap, the Russians left the radio base and communication tower to the PKK. We provide safe passage to the Russians and the same Russians leave the bases and facilities to the PKK.

If it were the Russians, they would have hit some of those bases with our soldiers inside them. And no one can prove otherwise.

From what I've been able to see areas they announced to have struck used to fall under SAA areas with Russian air control, which no longer exists.

And that is why I never trust the jews
Mind you, that just before yesterday they were saying that they dont wanna get involved in Syria's domestic disputes but yesterday, they started annexing more lands, and today they announced their desire for a radical Shia terrorist state and tomorrow they will announce that there is no land called Syria in the first place

This is just my analysis but I feel that Iran/Hezbollah/Hamas/other shite militias are in cahoots with Israel from the very beginning. Whenever a Shite militia or a Shia-backed force has borders with Israel, Israel always end up annexing more lands into their greater Israel project

Why didnt Israel annex the Syrian lands when Iran and its militias had borders with Israel even though they are supposedly their worst enemies? Why on earth is Israel attacking and annexing Syria now just when the sunni majority population are returning back to their homes?

Deep down, I feel that any Shite militia/state is actually friends with Israel behind the table

Israel's biggest strength is that its enemies are stupid, angry and self destructive. We all know about how Mossad pulled strings that radicalized the Palestinian movement. To them, the biggest threat is a large neighbouring state with an educated population, advanced technological capabilities, strong military, competent (sane!) leaders and last but not least, a good image on the world stage. Türkiye is the closest thing to ticking all these boxes. Iran had potential but got ruined by their Islamic regime. For decades there has been a foreign backed push to turn Türkiye into Iran 2.0, up to you to decide who was behind this.

To me, Israel has played its role in kicking Iranian influence out of Syria, which is good for Türkiye. But if they are serious about backing PKK then this will be their biggest mistake.

So far I don't think it will go beyond overtures(like us with Hamas to be honest), but let's see if they are going to get serious. I don't put it above Bibi government to act idiotic to garner quick points that will hurt them in the long run.

The mistake you make is that you still dont understand how Israel operates
If Israel decided to significantly support the kurds, then they will play their big sugar daddy card... the USA and force them to stay east of the Euphrates

If such a situation happened, then Turkey wont do shit. I know many are happy with Turkey giving the middle finger to Russia in Syria but that was mainly possible because Russia is busy in Ukraine

Havent you asked yourself why on fqing earth has the HTS/SNA still havent moved towards Raqqa or Der ez Zor? Even when most PKK has retreated because Arab tribes rose in defiance against the PKK? It is because the Americans threatened Joulani that any movement towards east of the Euphrates will signal the end of the rebels

Havent you asked yourself why on earth havent the HTS mobilised to at least stop Israeli incursion near Damascus? It is because Joulani's master isnt Turkey but Israel and the USA and that is why Turkey doesnt trust the HTS. Just look at @Asena_great post numbered #1,025 in which Joulani stated that they won by their "own" resources and not with any nation's help

Rumors are serculating that he already agreed on the division of Syria albeit this is from uncredible sources so we will have to wait

Translation:
The Deir Hafir and Maskanah line has become very heated. The reason for the people's uprising is that YPG/PKK terrorists are stealing the local people's property. The people are so angry that there is even a reaction against the SNA for not coming to the region sooner.

You mean Tartus and Khmeimim?
Why would TAF destroy these wonderful bases?
On the contrary, I think they would be very upset if the Russians blew them up before leaving ;)

No, I am not talking about western part of Syria. As I clearly wrote in the message above, I am talking about Russian bases in the regions where the PKK terrorist organization is located. From Aynel Arap to Kamışlı, the Russians have dozens of checkpoints and outposts. Right now, PKK terrorists trying to make them give up by crying. Because they know once the Russian flags are lowered, there will no longer be a protective shield. In anyway, the bases that the Russians have abandoned, the equipment and facilities left behind are being seized by the PKK. Aerial intelligence activities continue uninterrupted in the region. These stations and outposts must be destroyed immediately after the convoys leave the bases.

Zaman Al Wasl has published a list of more than one and a half million people wanted by Assad's militia + kept alive in all prisons.

Arab sources also report this news. It is an unbelievably large number, I don't know if the missings are included in this, but it is true that even Nazi Germany would have buttoned up its jacket with respect if it had seen the practices of the Baath regime for years. I'm just saying, even Iran is fucked up, blood was on their hands too.

The investigation and prosecution of all these massacres and crimes against humanity will probably take decades.

2,500 ousted regime soldiers were captured in the Deir ez-Zor desert region.

***

The marked areas are where the PKK lost control. The PKK was removed from Dayr Hafir, and in Maskanah the people are waiting for the SNA.

As far as I can see, the first stage will be the sweep terrorists up to Tabqah, and then the liberation process of Raqqa will begin.
