"Turkish General Staff Receives Order to Shoot Down Israeli Air Force Planes in Syria
The Voice of Turkey news portal reports that the Turkish army has received orders to shoot down Israeli fighters if they support militants from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the SDF in Syria, which is prohibited in Turkey.
If Israel decides to take such action (to support Kurdish forces in Syria), our defense systems and fighters are ready to destroy them (Israeli fighters). The relevant orders have already been transmitted to our General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces.
- the publication quotes an unnamed source in the Turkish Defense Ministry.
The publication claims that the Syrian Kurds have turned to Israel for help, including by using the IDF Air Force against pro-Turkish forces. It is noted that Ankara made it clear to Tel Aviv in advance that it "will not tolerate support for terrorists under any circumstances" in Syria," the Russian publication happily reports.
