The success of Turkish engineers in Malaysia attracted the attention of the world

According to the information received by the Anadolu Agency correspondent,MAPEVI Aviation and Engineering AŞ raised the international standards of Malaysian civil aviation with the eTOD Malaysia Project.

The project, which was carried out with the Malaysian Civil Aviation Authority, lasted 2 years. Within the scope of the project, the standards of 21 national and international airports in Malaysia were raised to the high levels determined by the International Aviation Authority (ICAO), bringing them to an important point in the field of aviation. Digital twins of airports and their environments have been created, opening up a range of enhanced safety opportunities to the aviation industry.

The project resulted in quality, safety and economic advantages in many aspects such as increasing operational efficiency, making final decisions based on data, effective cooperation between stakeholders, fully complying with international standards and adopting a proactive approach towards the future.

During the project process, a total of 110 thousand digital obstacle (obstacle) data were collected. Using satellite images and GNSS technologies, high-accuracy and up-to-date data sets were created and geographic information system-based deliveries were made.

Using more than 80 high-resolution satellite images across Malaysia, high-quality digital data has been produced to serve all aspects of aviation. In addition, digital inventories that provide routing opportunities for aircraft and other vehicles specific to airports were produced and comprehensive airport databases were created.

Similarly, critical aviation CHARTs were produced by pilots and flight procedure designers for each airport. AMDB-ASRN data, which has a wide range of applications such as traffic awareness within PAT areas, runway occupation prevention, taxi route determination, NOTAM visualization, support low visibility operations, facility and resource management, emergency response and raising safety standards, has been generated for 21 airports. Enhanced databases for ground operations were provided. In total, nearly 7,500 digital data sets were produced and delivered.

Expert teams from different disciplines worked

The project was completed with the cooperation of a team of experts from different disciplines. A wide range of experts such as architects, city planners, geomatics engineers, civil engineers, software engineers and statisticians took part in the project with a multidisciplinary approach.

This success is considered as an important milestone in the international aviation industry. With the project, Turkey has proven that it has the competencies to create a digital aviation inventory in accordance with international standards by using high technologies and apply it on a global scale, and its leadership in this field. The project attracted the attention of the authorities of countries that want to implement similar projects.

After the success achieved on a global scale, the company continues to work on new vision projects. Aiming to be a global leader in its field, mapevi will also intensify its activities with the mission of giving direction to the evolution of the global aviation industry by providing trainings to its stakeholders.
