Taiwan's new tactical reconnaissance wheeled vehicles were seen being tested at the Pingtung Jia Lu Tang defense training center.

The Taiwanese Defense Ministry’s prototypes, named P3 and P4, were designed with remote-controlled gun turrets and enhanced armor. These high-tech vehicles demonstrated their ability to engage air targets with 12.7mm remote-controlled machine guns. They successfully engaged drone-towed red balloon targets in single-shot, burst-fire, and fully automatic fire modes. The vehicles were also evaluated in various missions, including smoke bomb dropping and rough terrain performance tests.

The P2 prototype was exhibited at the Taipei Aerospace and Defense Technology Show last September, and the lack of protection for the battery packs was brought to the agenda. The new P3 and P4 models address these concerns by adding additional armor to protect the battery packs.

These advanced vehicles will undergo extensive testing in various terrains across the island as part of Taiwan’s tactical assessments. (Source Defense Blog)
