Why build so much if we can't utilize it 100% or close. If draught is what we're facing from now on. The investments should be channelled into smarter energy sources, or means to transport water from one place to another.

20 years of gas agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan renewed without ceremony

Turkey's 20-year gas agreement ended with Azerbaijan, the 20-year Gas Agreement has been renewed after the long-term bargains.

The details of the agreement was not shared with the public opinion between the approximately one year negotiations between Baku and Ankara.

The two-country leader will participate in the joint signature ceremony, instead of the Azerbaijan Side 'has announced the approval of the Temporary Deal' by electronic mail.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Subiquitous Resources in Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar also confirmed that the Gastech energy conference was held in Dubai.

However, the Bayraktar has not disclosed on the details of the agreement.

This year's basic construction and assembly works have been completed for the second power unit of Akkuyu NPP.


In the written statement made by Akkuyu Nuclear AŞ, it was stated that the second Liebherr LR 13000 model crawler mobile crane was installed and commissioned at the NGS construction site.

In the statement, which pointed out that 2 of 5 cranes of the same model throughout the world were put into service at the construction site of Turkey's first nuclear power plant, the second layer of the inner protection shell was mounted in the reactor building of the second power unit with the help of a crane, and the support beam of the reactor shaft was installed this year. that the work has been completed.

Sergei Butckikh, First Deputy General Manager of Akkuyu Nuclear AŞ and Director of NGS Construction Affairs, whose views are included in the statement, said the following regarding the works carried out at the Akkuyu NPP field:

"While planning the implementation of important construction activities, it was decided to bring a similar crane to the Liebherr LR 13000 crane, which is currently in service at the first power unit. Another crane of the same model was brought to the Akkuyu NGS construction site due to the need to ensure the assembly of large-sized cargo and structures at the construction sites of the second and third power units. The crane was located in Italy before being transported to the Akkuyu NPP site and from there it was shipped by sea to the Eastern Cargo Terminal.The unique lifting structure was installed in a limited space surrounded by multiple tower cranes, while this process was accompanied by additional work by the assembly team of Russian, Turkish and Dutch experts. required it.”

With the protocol, which became official with the signatures of the Renewable Energy Workshop, it was also decided to utilize the high-tech solar panels produced by Kalyon PV in order to meet the energy needs of Informatics Valley.

COOPERATION PROTOCOL

At the Renewable Energy Workshop organized with the support of Kalyon PV and Hasan Kalyoncu University and hosted by Bilişim Vadisi, a cooperation protocol was signed to cover the roofs of Informatics Valley with 2 thousand 619 solar panels with a capacity of 1.05 megawatts (MW) produced by Kalyon PV. With the cooperation between Kalyon PV, Hasan Kalyoncu University and Informatics Valley, it is also aimed to implement various projects with the aim of developing renewable energy technologies in Turkey and raising awareness in this field. That is a lot of panels and not so much yield. Windmills produce more.

Turkey takes precautions to avoid gas shortages in winter: Energy Minister​


The Turkish energy ministry has taken precautionary measures to ensure the country will not run out of gas for heating this winter amid the global gas shortage, Fatih Donmez, the minister of Energy and Natural Resources said Friday.

He said they have taken steps and will continue to do so to avoid gas supply shortages by filling the underground natural gas storage facilities in the coming weeks ensuring storage is 75% full.

The recent energy crisis, which has seen energy price increases of 200% to 300%, has amplified the importance of domestic and national resources as a lightning rod against this shock wave and has put renewable energy more prominently on the agenda.

It has also exposed the need to take energy-saving measures to avoid wastage. To this end, he said that savings of between 10% and 20% could be made with very simple behavior and attitude changes.

'If we use 1% less in electrical energy, we would save $250 million. If we turn our heating systems down by 1 degree and turn them down to 22 degrees instead of 23 degrees, we will save 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas as a country. Energy efficiency not only contributes to the economy, our budget but also protects our environment.'

He said negotiations are ongoing to obtain further gas supplies, but a deal with Azerbaijan and reassurance from Russian President Vladimir Putin of the possibility of more supplies from Russia should help meet demand.

'We are in a strong position in terms of technical infrastructure. We have international pipelines, underground natural gas storage, LNG and FSRU [Floating Storage Regasification Unit] facilities that will greatly relieve and feed the system,' Donmez said.

He argued that the countries that will be the least exposed to energy price rallies on international markets are the ones that rely more on domestic and national resources, like Turkey, which has increasingly become more self-sufficient in energy.

Turkey saved $1.11 billion within the scope of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan, Donmez said. 'The financial value of the savings we achieved in 2020 alone was $158 million.”

Gas was good, gas was cheap and gas was clean energy.

Because of these extremist global anti-gas policies the prizes increased and a lot of people will die in this horror-corona-terror-winter.

Same with sunpanels. You are putting sunpannels on the ground to catch sunpower, but that ultraviolet is needed for the land, but you are covering that land with sunpanels.

I think you should seriously consider reading a bit about what you just said. There is no such thing as endless wind or sun (at least not in our living times). Its called renewables for a reason.

That's why no one wants to cover fertile soil with panels and the international industry is shifting towards rooftop installations.

Gas, coal, oil, gold, silver, sand -- all the important commodities are 'taken away' from nature. Why are you drawing a line when it comes to renewable energy investments but using fossil energy is okay? What kind of logic is this?

Actually a water wheel on a small river could slow down the stream which could affect ecology and life on that river (much smaller scale than a dam does, but still affects). Everything we do has some footprint on nature but on the other hand also I thought he is sarcastic though..

Mate, believe me I have studied these things for years, yes everything we do harm the nature but ecological footprint wise; damage from wind and solar are extremely low, clean. Do you know how much water is wasted to produce shale oil or shale gas? How dirty is the process of hydrocarbons. Every other energy production is much worse than wind and solar. Our cities! are blocking wind much more than those aerodynamically built wind turbines so we are not damaging ecology very much (or stealing). Wind is still there, after passing turbine blades it reaches to nature but our cities block wind streams or traps sunlight much more than power plants.

Almost all energy in the Earth comes from the sun. Wind, wave, solar, hydrocarbon.. everything except nuclear and geothermal. And not all coming energy is UV or sunlight which is collected by panels and even panels cannot collect 100% of the light hitting to their surface. Yes if you cover whole deserts with solar panels you can cool down the Earth which could lead serious events, very large solar power plants are affecting temperatures around it there are some studies about these. However average annual solar energy hitting to per square meter of Earth is 1367 Watts. And in one hour 430 exajoules of energy hit to the surface of Earth (nearly 120000 terawatts) we consume 410 exajoules in a year! (as humans)

What you are suggesting is similar to when I take a glass of water from sea, I am stealing it from nature. (and that water returns to sea) Everything we built or do have an impact on nature of course but for electricity generation, solar and wind are more innocent. Otherwise we should return to caves to protect nature.
