On the 98th anniversary of August 30 Victory Day, an important center for space technologies in the defense industry will be opened. In addition, test-firing of newly developed domestic missiles will be performed. The opening will be held by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Space Technologies and Advanced Technologies Research Center will be opened in Roketsan's Lalahan facilities (ANKARA). At the same time, the raw material production facility in Elmadağ will be opened. Space Technologies and Advanced Technologies Research Center is very important. Because in this center, many critical satellite-space studies are carried out, especially the "Micro Satellite Launch System Project" initiated by the Defense Industry Presidency in 2018. With the implementation of the Micro Satellite Launching System Project, microsatellites of 100 kilograms and below will be placed in low earth orbit with a height of at least 400 kilometers. Turkey, together with a few countries in the world, will thenceforth have a satellite launch site for, facilities for testing, and will have gained the ability to produce and build up infrastructure and bases. The microsatellite is aimed to be launched into space in 2025.

With the raw material production facility in Elmadağ, the dependence on foreign raw materials in the defense sector will be greatly reduced. At the ceremony to be held with the participation of Erdogan, newly developed domestic and national missiles will also be tested. Test shots will be followed by live broadcasts.
