In anti-smuggling operationsin Van, Hakkari and Hatay areas 2 pistols, 52.600g heroin, 11.832g hashish, 895 packages of pills, 7 mobile phones and 17.770 packages of illegal cigarettes were confiscated by the army units

Unfortunately 1 Turkish soldier (Gendarmerie personnel) was martyred in the fight in Yuksekova area.

The killed terrorists in the operation were identified. Part of the "RED" Most Wanted List of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Code name "Nubar" Erol Volkan İldem and part of the "GREY" Most Wanted List of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Code name "Roza" Fadime Çakıl. They were both part of the TKP/ML Marxist Leninist terrorist organization.

The elected mayor is from the core TKP which is not forbidden. TKP/ML (Marxist-Leninist) is an offshoot of TKP and their military wing is TIKKO (As PKK's military wing is HPG). It is fact that TIKKO militants are most active in Tunceli's Ovacik area (the area which TKP have mayor). I don't know if it is coincidence and if TKP/ML TIKKO is receiving support from the TKP but it is for sure something that have to be looked in.

It is a good think as many of them served in different regions before that. Such captures turns into more neutralized terrorists, valuable intelligence about hideouts, depots and tactics. For example not long ago it was confirmed that we killed on of the ideological leaders and founders of PKK earlier by a captured terrorist. Our technical and tactical abilities are high but intelligence from them is also needed in order the operations to continue with full success. From here the responsibility falls onto the judgement system and it unfortunately fails to deliver a fair judgement to terror cases in my opinion.

Turkey is cleaning terrorists for 40 years now and still it doesnt end. Lots of money wasted and damage done for the struggle against the PKK. A megalomanous amount of 330 billion dollar.

We could build airports, schools, hospitals, viaducts, highways, channels, bridges with that money. We could put that money in defence or housing projects.

We must change our tactics. The TAF is fighting the PKK with Sovjet-methods (crushing, destroying, killing, burning) but these methods have no end and are resulting in more violence and hate.

The TAF must fight the PKK with Nazi-style methods (violence combined with winning of the hearts). Crush the armed wing but build schools for the Kurdish kids in those problematic regions. Bomb the camps of the PKK but also mock them with comics and animated series about the heroes of the TAF against the villains of the PKK.

Teach, publish and produce soft power propaganda. And show yourself in the eastern region. The youth there sees only armoured vehicles and soldiers. They dont see public figures of statesmen who want to listen to their problems.

Make those regions more livable, more safe, more hopefull by investing in socio-economic infrastructure. There are no brothels there, no loungebars, no workshops, no fabrics, no great manufacturers.

You cant win this war against terror without conquering the heart and minds of the people in those regions. Because the PKK is an examption.

West-Germany destroyed the RAF within 15 years. The UK dismantled the IRA within 30 years. Spain did the same with ETA and France with OAS. None of these organisations got financial or politic support from other states and non of these organisations had a very strong PR.

Thats difference with the PKK. They got support from NATO-states and non-NATO-states and have a very huge propaganda machine and great drugs and oil networks.

Also creating jobs even factory jobs would help. I think keeping an eye on local elected leaders is necessary as they’re actively supporting pkk
