Turkish construction company Dekinsan has donated 76 oxygen concentrators to Algeria. The donation has been forwarded to the National Agency for the Improvement and Development of Housing (AADL) which will in turn "forward it to the Ministry of Health".

The information was given by the Turkish Embassy in Algeria through a press release posted on its Facebook page.

“Under the supervision of Embassy Counselor Umit Alpaslan Kılıç, 76 oxygen concentrators were delivered to Algeria as a donation by the Turkish company Dekinsan. They were delivered to the ADL to then be transferred to the Ministry of Health, ”the Embassy statement said.

Between purchases and donations, Algeria this week received thousands of oxygen concentrators to relieve Algerian hospitals, which show a great lack of this material, particularly because of the Delta variant.

Appeals for donations have been launched across the country and abroad for the acquisition of oxygen concentrators and plants to relieve production plants and help hospitals and patients in difficulty.

The president of the National Union of Pharmacists of Officine (SNAPO), Messaoud Belambri, announced on Saturday July 31 that part of these machines will be put on sale at the pharmacy level at a price of 115,000 DA.

The other concentrators have been distributed to various health facilities in the country according to the authorities, but hospitals are still under heavy pressure and report about ten deaths every day due to lack of oxygen.
