Any foreign loyalist should be kicked from Iraq or shot by firing squads.

Simultaneously with the attack over Erbil International Airport also the Turkish base in Bashiqah was targeted with a rocket. A 12 year old girl was wounded in the attack. We have Turkish UAV circling over Bashiqah at the moment

According to some sources there are casualties among TSK personnel but nothing is certain. Be aware of the disinformation. Unfortunately there is a source that is usually reliable regarding martyr news which is reporting martyrs but nothing is certain. There are reports that the Turkish Air Forces are hitting terror targets in Northern Iraq.

Official statement from the Ministry of National Defence:
A rocket attack was carried out tonight to the Basika (Gedu) base area in Northern Iraq. One of the three rockets fired fell into the base area and the other two within the village. A hero of our comrades-in-arms was martyred in the attack, and a child living in the village was injured.

An armed UAV was tasked in the region and the necessary measures were taken immediately. We wish God's mercy to our hero martyr, our condolences and patience to his precious family and Turkish Armed Forces, and urgent healing to our injured child.

Not to start any speculation, but reminds me of the ongoing attacks on the US embassy in Iraq. Irans militias perhaps?

Yes. All the signs like timing, method of attack, usage of equipment are pointing at Iran supported militias. The launch side was located.

But what reasons would they have?
The story goes back to the agreement between Turkey, Iraqi Central Government and KRG about the withdrawal of PKK from Sinjar. At the same time intelligence sources from Turkey revealed that the leadership of PKK is in the Iranian side of the Qandil mountains. Turkey agreed many times with Iran on cooperation against PKK but no fruits came and we saw a real push in Northern Iraq.

The aim of Turkey in Sinjar is to eliminate PKK elements close to the Turkish border and prevent transfer of manpower and supplies by controlling the road between Syria and the PKK camps in Northern Iraq. We know that Turkey will have to allow the US military to operate trough the route but such a situation becomes a problem for IRGC as the route is popular among them to. Iran supported militias in the last 4 months warned many times Turkey and tried to tie the situation together with the operations against US forces stationed in Northern Iraq and especially in Erbil as the KRG authorities are in close relation with the US and Turkish sides and are cooperating on both matters (PKK and IRGC proxy activity). They turned the campaign against the US forces to a campaign against foreign "invaders" in Iraq including against the Turkish intervention. They fired rockets at a Turkish base before thank God without casualties but this time its different. The Turkish military bases in Bashiqah and Duhok have critical importance for Turkey's role in Iraq.

The Iraqi Central Government, KRG and the Turkish trained Nineva militia all failed to provide security for the Turkish border and the Turkish military installations in Iraq. Now it is very likely to see KRG supported push into Sinjar. It is still very early to comment but all the signs shows that Sinjar operation is close and it will most probably be a large push on a couple of phases including a deep push in Avasin/Basyan, Metina and Gara camps including rise of Turkish special operations targeting important traffic on the road between Sinjar and Duhok simultaneously with establishing of temporary military bases and control points in Duhok.

But what reasons would they have?

Either something to do with the US or Israel?
Iran wants sole control over Iraq. Their mollahs even boast about Iran consisting of both Iraq and Iran.
Ironically their grip over Iraq got stronger after US invasion.
From time to time you can see that some of their politicians use strong language against Turkish presence in the region.

One thing is certain, Turkey must retaliate and if Erdogan doesn't have the balls to retaliate the next time they will kill 10 Turkish soldiers unfortunately.

It’s time to erdogan to back his forces from Iraq since nobody wants them there.
We also don't want the filth coming from your country, but you are not able to prevent it therefore get used to Turkish Military presence in the north.
