Turkish security forces are really getting professional at drone assassinations in these past couple years. I really can't count all the news I have seen about some PKK rats being blown to pieces in their cars somewhere south of the border...

Statement on the Winter Eagle Air Operation to Derik, Sinjar and Karacak Regions
By neutralizing the PKK/KCK/YPG and other terrorist elements; In order to eliminate the terrorist attacks against our people and security forces from the North of Iraq and Syria and to ensure our border security; In line with our self-defense rights arising from Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, the Winter Eagle Air Operation was carried out against terrorist nests in the Derik, Sinjar and Karacak regions in the North of Iraq and Syria, which are used as bases by terrorists.
In the Winter Eagle Operation carried out; shelters, bunkers, caves, tunnels, ammunition depots and so-called headquarters and training camps belonging to terrorists who threaten our country, nation and border security were targeted. In the planning and execution of the operation, maximum sensitivity was shown for the safety of life and property of the civilian population and the protection of the environment.
After the operation, in which mostly domestic and national ammunition was used, all of our aircraft returned safely to their bases.
The Turkish Armed Forces, who emerged from the bosom of our noble nation, will continue the fight against terrorism for the security of our country and nation with determination and determination until the last terrorist is neutralized.
It has been determined that PKK/YPG terrorists previously dug tunnels in the village of Tel Bakir at the foot of Derik/Karacok Mountain, where Turkish warplanes carried out air operations.

Why do the attacks even stop anyway? For Syria I get it. We need to wait for the right time due to diplomatical reasons(though I dont know if we will ever get a better time than Ukrainian war) but for Iraq I dont get it.

Between April and September you have a Window in which the Mountains are mostly free of Snow.
Process of Operation:
1. Air Assault 2. Landing 3. Camp 4. Camp turns into Base 5. Logistics (Roads and Bridges to that Base) 6. Caves need to be Searched and Destroyed

Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and his commanders, Air Forces Commander Gen. Hasan Küçükakyüz welcomed us.
Minister Akar announced that as of tonight, "Operation Claw-LOCK" has been launched against terrorist targets in northern Iraq.
“In the operation carried out within the scope of the prepared plan, terrorist targets in Metina, Zap and Avaşin-Basyan regions were first fired by our air forces. Our heroic pilots successfully hit targets consisting of shelters, bunkers, caves, tunnels, ammunition depots and so-called headquarters belonging to the terrorist organization. The targets determined by Fırtına, MLRA and other artillery elements were heavily fired and hit with full accuracy. Our Hero Commandos and Bordeaux Berets, supported by our ATAK helicopters, UAVs and SİHAs, infiltrated the region by infiltrating the land and by air attack operation. So far, our operation continues successfully as planned. The targets set in the first phase have been achieved.”
