Has Turkey carried out any reforms based on the Ukraine war, and how have small drones affected modern warfare? It seems that both Ukraine, and russia have created an Unmanned Systems branch to their militaries.

I was wondering if turkey has done the same becauseit looks like Turkey has started to fall behind in drone warfare (not considering the big drones like TB2s).

here is a great video going over the way drone warfare as evolved in ukraine.

Lack of development of smaller class UAS while we are one of the leading countries in MALE, HALE UAS is worthy case study on its own.

Baykar is developing Kalkan STOL and Kemankes family.
TAI is developing Simsek family.
STM yet to reveal its FPV UAV.
KARGI should have been given to Aselsan at this point.
Smaller companies developing their own FPVs etc. but related agencies actively needs to be purchasing from them to incentivize development.

Reforms I don't know but there is definitely more emphasis on serial production capabilities as with other NATO countries. Also I believe some modernization programs will be reprioritized again at least eventually.

Sadly, Turkey seems to be falling behind, just as I feared thanks for sharing your knowledge.

There is IDEF 2025 this year. I think we will see big push for FPVs and other UAS. Plus companies like Baykar could reveal brand new platforms like they did with Kemankes.

It hasnt evolved,it has adapted to the circumstances.
Both sides have limited other resources/weapons.

I'll give my prediction here, I think the reason we are seeing a lot of Kemankeş videos with emphasis on reusability, is Kemankeş will be a drone Hunter similar to Andruil's Anvil As a second mission. Kemankeş will be a great Shahed hunter. Since there is a lot of tb2s and Akıncıs. We can use them in large scale and they will be more flexible compare to Andruil Anvil since they can be launched from any point with longer range. It is perfect solution to Shahed style cheap drones World is facing.

Kemankes is a mini Cruise missile.
It's a loitering munition Baykar calls a "mini cruise missile" for pr, it is no different than others of its kind. But it still isn't an a2a munition so it wouldn't make sense.

I think it is both. Can be used as a cruise missile on a pre-defined target or can be sent into a theater to look for targets. Doesn't have to be either or.

Kemankes is a mini Cruise missile. İt would be too expensive to use it as a drone Hunter.
Andruil's Anvil is also a cruise missile and It is a reusable SAM with vertical take off and landing. Unit cost of Kemankeş is likely a fraction SOM or Anvil. Probably less than 200k$. And Compare that to our SAM missiles, it is going to be a lot cheaper. Hisar missiles aren't cheap. And According to Iranian manufacturer leaked documents, Shaheds cost around 290k$. So Kemankeş can be cost effective solution to these kind of drones.

I would go with improving Mete for air target so a small drone can carry 2 of them, a tb2 can carry maybe 8 of them add a small radar as Poland already did, then it would be a cheap alternative. There was news about integrating Sungur on TB2 but don't know what happened.

something like cat paw :D we can call it minnak (y)

Btw if a drone can carry at least 4 minnaks, it will create a serious force multiplier in the battle field.

Repkon has already shown a drone that can carry 4 Mete (or was it just a rocket that had the same diameter?), and I think some other company had shown one that could carry 2? I really like the idea of sending grenades towards the enemy from a 1+ km away with pinpoint accuracy without risking our soldiers, nor even the drone itself.

If you watch drone videos from Ukraine, and I've seen a lot, most drones fall when they are close to their targets, whether to drop grenades/mines or kamikaze themselves into a vehicle, due to jamming or soldiers shooting at them. Keeping the distance is one of the best ways to prevent that from happening.

🇹🇷⚓️ Bayraktar TB3 gains submarine hunter capability. Retired Rear Admiral Cihat Yaycı announced that the TB3, developed by Baykar and earning TCG ANADOLU the title of the world's first UCAV ship, has deployed 'Sonobuoy' sensors used for submarine detection into the blue waters.

It's not Yaycı's place to announce a Baykar capability. And it is very possibly wrong as well.

I don't see this as a Baykar capability, more like a Navy capability. And is the Navy not known as being more strict with giving information about navy related tests?
It will be, once it becomes a thing. Such a test would be a Baykar/Aselsan test, not a navy test.

Still waiting on that sonobuoy launcher for Aksungur, TB3 I think is too small as a platform for it.

Sonobuoys themselves are pretty light though, right? At least the ones I checked out were and would they require a cumbersome launcher? Or, would they be just dropped from TB3 and drop with a parachute?

Expendable sonobuoys in question are very light, 10 kilos for Aselbuoy. The housing/launcher unit and say 6-8 buoys will still come at at least 150 kilos. Anything less than that number, it's not worth it. A drone can stay airborne for more than 15+ hours. It can work as the picket line with 15-16, but won't do well in hunter/killer role.

Nevertheless, TB3s can carry a magnetic anomaly detector, a compact multi-mode SAR/LDAR, a standard FLIR hardware capable of capturing exhaust streams, and ELINT payloads for some transmission intercepts, such a sensor package can significantly increase the tactical picture coverage and accuracy of the Anadolu Task Force in ADVENT CMS in real time. It can illuminate the target for the other system to engage in the open sea without any relay between them via SATCOM.

Or, Navy TB3s can be designed as a wolf team, not as individual systems in the ASW role. On the software side, one of BAYKAR's gives important areas for the coming period is fleet autonomy of unmanned systems and machine-to-machine teaming scenarios. We are likely to see first generation examples of this in TB-3s. In other words, many TB-3s that will take off from TCG ANADOLU may have the capability to operate as a single system, with a model in which the mission load is distributed among many aircraft.
