So its a turbojet/fan engine derived from the TS1400? Why haven't we heard more from it?

Seeing at it was displayed at least for more than 2 years ago, perhaps a fully working engine is ready to be used.
Yep you hit the nail on the head.
Not much is being disclosed anymore after the shadow embargo imposed on us by our allies.

Apparently it is one of the engines studied for the development of TS1400 turbo-shaft helicopter engine. Probably with the combustion chamber common with the now matured TS1400 but the compressor and exhaust are of the type for a jet engine. It sucks air from the front and exhausts the combustion hot gas from the rear orifice. So it is a jet engine that can possibly be used for UAV jet propulsion. Too bad it is not a turbofan which is supposed to be more advanced.

Do you have a date of this picture or a link to the event where this engine was displayed?
I remeber seing it at a trade-show in Istanbul more than 2 years ago. Who could say that it may be of critical importance going forward I would have a closer look if I knew.

Now I am wondering about the engine lifespan and MTBO. If it is going to be used in UAV's (Göksungur) then it has to have a good MTBO.

The work on TS1400 was prioritized due to the embargo from the US on exporting ATAK to Pakistan, and it brought our deal with Philippines in danger as well.

So we're expecting delivery of working Turboshaft engine to be installed and tested on ATAK at the end of 2020.

Turbojets are very efficient at speeds of mach 2-3.

Though some early details about the Goksungur suggested a max cruising speed of 1600km/h, a much higher speed would be more logical for a turbojet.

If TAI go with the turbojet route, then forget stealth. The rumours of a twin engine design suggest to me that the Goksungur could be a penetrator/interdictor type of aircraft which uses its high speed to carry out attacks deep in enemy territory...

In other words the Aksungur, Akinci, TB2 and Anka could continue to serve as the main bombers for the foreseeable future. But the Goksungur could be used for high value targets such as air defences and bases situated deep in enemy territory.

Not neccessarily! Efficient masking of internal blade exposure and exhaust cooling needed. Inherintedly turbofan have lower exhaust heat but have bigger blades to hide. Reverse is true for turbojet.

I was wondering whether the intellectual and industrial rights of the project belonged to Baykar or SSB, who covered the development cost of Bayraktar TB2. Here is the answer.The intellectual and industrial rights of Bayraktar TB2 belong to SSB and are produced in the partnership of Baykar-Kale.

Baykar technical manager Selçuk Bayraktar: We do not have the right to decide whether to produce or sell. It is completely under the control of the state.

SSB website: Bayraktar Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Project is carried out by our Undersecretariat in line with the need for aerial reconnaissance and surveillance of the Turkish Armed Forces and neutralization of targets, and the UAV production is carried out by Baykar Makina.

You mean 24 MAM-L? Do you have source?

if i remember right aksungur has 750 kg capacity and each MAM-L is 22 kg so it should be able to do it

i think the source is trustworthy and yea he is the only one right now and haven't seen anything from anybody else yet.

Weight wise it is possible, but I doubt it from the size of the quad launchers and the relatively little room between the hard-points. We'll soon see If my doubt are right or wrong.
