It's less humiliating to declare you are being trashed on the field by NATO instead of Ukraine.

S -300 or S - 400 ADs are not scraps at all . They are very effective and one of the best AD systems in the world .

I agree, a country that shelters/supports Turkeys adversaries and pushes for sanctions on top of it should be vetoed at any cost, NATO is a defense alliance and we should only give green light to those who were at least neutral towards Turkey.

The S400 is a very good AD and not comparable with the S300.

S-300PMU2 and S-400 have little differences. The problem with S-400 is that it is very expensive and very bulky system which can be easily destroyed with cheap cruise missiles.

They shot one time a Israeli F15 with the S300 during a raid on Damascus few years ago. It crashed somewhere in northern Israel, but the IDF claimed 'technical malfunctioning'. The Israeli Airforce then came back again the same night and destroyed the S300 batteries.

It was during Netanyahu's presidency, i remember his madness on television. He swore that Assad would face the harshest repercussions if they lock again a Israeli jet.
