"Today around midnight in the area of operation of OOS SAM S-300 of the Air Force 🇺🇦 2 enemy targets were shot down – a helicopter and the Su-25 🇷🇺 attack aircraft of the occupying forces. Also, at half past one night, the Su-27 fighter attacked the military transport aircraft IL-76 MD 🇷🇺 of the occupying forces and destroyed the enemy!"

Why are they sending subsonic attack aircraft and helicopters in while air defenses are still active? Is Ukrainian EMCOM really that effective that the russians have no idea where their systems are?

Potential shortcomings in air to ground capabilities?

Multiroles like Migs 29 are not ground attack aircraft, would require exposing the aircraft to engage ground targets as seen in Syria and Libya.

Su-24, 25 are lower risk considering the air superiority is not fully achieved.

Russia does not have fancy targeting pods, high precision munitions due to costs etc.

From BBC:

Putin popularity could plummet - Russian policy expert

We know that there have been numerous anti-war demonstrations in Russia and a host of Russian celebrities and influencers have shown their opposition to the war on their social media accounts.

Now an adviser to the Kremlin - Andrey Kortunov, Director General of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) - has told the BBC his advice was that the Russian invasion of Ukraine was not justifiable.

He said many of his colleagues in the foreign ministry were also “very surprised, shocked and even devastated” to see what was happening.

The decision to invade was made in the Kremlin, he believes.

"If it is an operation which will have limited casualties and it will be regarded as a success, the popularity of the leadership will not drop," he said.

Putin’s initial plan was to complete the operation in two weeks, he said.

“If he does that maybe the damage will be limited, if he fails to do that then his popularity is likely to plummet.”

You know aside from the cowboy scenes, and all the bad actors.......what are you left with? You are left with your culture. And all cultures will somehow have to coexist which means respecting borders.

We cannot always be fighting. We have to b coexisting more after so many useless wars that could be avoided

Beauty canbe made too like when the Greeks merged with Bactria, Greek stoicism met spiritual Buddhism. What a beautiful civilization, but it didn't last. They all go through cycles.
