The bill, passed on an 86-to-11 vote Thursday, provides a combined $20 billion in military aid that is expected to finance the transfer of advanced weapons systems, such as Patriot antiaircraft missiles and long-range artillery.

WaPo being a garbage news source as usual. They are just giving examples of "advanced weapon systems", it doesn't mean those are the systems they will give to Ukraine.

Seizing is totally out of question. Such systems are located in deep rear and Russians are advancing very very slowly.

By the July and August a large quantity of Western advanced weapons will be delivered to Ukraine and Russians will not be able to sustain their occupied territories, they have to withdraw from most of the Ukrainian land by September and October . A karabakh style attack will be effectively drive away Russians from occupied territories of Ukraine .

How much material does Russia have exactly?

In the 10000-20000 range. However Ukraine already destroyed several thousand. You also have to consider how much of Russia's military material is actually ready for combat and not just rusted junk that's been rotting in storage for 30+ years.

I dont expect big changes. In best case scenario Ukrainians will stop Russian advance and will slowly push Russians back. For effective offensive u need air superiority and strong armor divisions. Nothing like this going to happen.

Its about them keeping their enemies divided. They can't afford for Turkey to become allies with Russia and Iran, so as much as they want to turn us into an outright open enemy, they have pretend to a certain degree that they are friends. This is why Turkey gets certain access to the west, but is then massively cut off from important things like EU membership, while insignificant and unimportant ex-communist nations like Bulgaria and Romania can leap frog Turkish entry.

Its also why they all support the PKK against Turkey. But they can't go too far with it because their big fear is that Turkey allies with their other enemies.

Imagine what happens to the middle east and central asia if just Turkey and Iran formed a military alliance together, add Russia to the mix and Europe is in big big trouble.

The problem of course for Turkey is that neither Russia or Iran ever showed any concern for Turkish regional concerns, while also working to undermine Turkey just as much as the west does.

So Turks create their own path and fight their own battles.

Russian mine disposal specialists and emergencies ministry’s officers spotted and destroyed 210 explosive objects in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) during the past day, Mikhail Mizintsev, the headquarters head and chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Friday.
According to Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, Russian specialists continue mine clearance operations in the DPR and LPR. "A total of 1,543.9 hectares have been already been surveyed, including 2.7 hectares, 35 buildings, including two hospitals and two schools, one bridge and 7.6 kilometers of motorways over the past day. As many as 7,596 explosive objects have been spotted and destroyed, including 210 during the past day," he said.
He also said that despite the difficulties and obstacles created by Kiev, during the day, as many as 17,306 people, including 2,213 children, were evacuated from dangerous zones in various Ukrainian regions, and from the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics to Russia without any participation of Ukraine’s authorities.
"Since the beginning of the special military operation, as many as 1,377,925 people, including 232,480 children, have been evacuated," he added.

Apart from that, in his words, during the day, the Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, federal executive bodies, Russian regions and various public organizations received 102 requests from foreign and Ukrainian nationals for the evacuation to Russia, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic, and to Russia-controlled territories in the Zaporozhye, Nikolayev, Kharkov, and Kherson regions. "The database has 2,756,228 such requests from 2,136 Ukrainian settlements," he noted.

MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. The U.S and Western countries are trying to oust Russia from the arms market by spreading fakes among partners about the allegedly low combat capability of its weaponry, Alexander Mikheyev, CEO of Rosoboronexport, told reporters at the HeliRussia-2022 exhibition.
Rosoboronexport is Russia’s state arms seller, part of the state tech corporation Rostec.
"Now the Internet and foreign media are teeming with fakes. The American and Western propaganda machines against Russia are working at full capacity to discredit our country, the army, our military equipment. They are making attempts to oust Russia from the arms market, declaring to our partners about the allegedly low combat capability of Russian weapons," Mikheev said.
Rosoboronexport CEO noted that opponents begin to spread such fakes if they have nothing to be proud of themselves.

"We know the truth: our military equipment, ground, combat aircraft and helicopters, air defense systems and systems are reliable, powerful, combat-ready, confidently confirm their characteristics," he added.

Nobody ever took the idea of a unified EU army seriously except France and France only took it seriously insofar as they thought that they could be the leader and control Europe this way. But now that it's clear that the UK and the US dominate in these matters, that idea is pretty much permanently shelved.
