I doubt if that USV is able to submerge or convert into an UUV and act as a torpedo. I highly doubt if it is capable of submerging to a fixed depth and then detonating by using magnetometers as şf a torpedo. Likely its warhead is slightly below the waterline and may not be piercing type but general HE. And assuming the weather, it might have damaged way below than the waterline or higher. At least, it seems that they know where machinery room is located in and thus redirecting it to machinery room to at least cause a major fire.

Fair enough, I didn't see any evidence right now suggesting the USV acting as a torpedo.
But It will be surprising to throw such device against a modern Frigate just with a conventional HE load... My impression is you'll need several of them, hitting key ship parts to make some important damage, as you said.

But how much difficult would be... just 2-3 seconds before reaching the target to flood some USV internal tanks with sea water, deploy stabilizer fins, keep the engine running with a small oxigen tank and blow it under the ship ?

Once you have designed that kind of weapon, why not go a bit further and make it really effective? If you have the electronics and mechanic systems to maneuver it from a far distance, you should have almost everything to do it.

I'm very curious how this thing works.

It seems Ru launched today another massive missile attack in retaliation for the attack on the black sea fleet.

Would be nice to know how many missiles were launched against UKR today to see how much the recently delivered anti-air defenses made a difference.

These are the propaganda lies of the Ukrainians.

Russia says they fired 50 missiles, Ukrainians says they shot down 44 missiles.

Do these ukrainians think people are stupid? Is it that easy to shoot a cruise missile?

Yes, the Ukrainians shot down the missiles, with kalashnikovs and man pads :).

So basically just Turkey? Since Ukraine doesnt have a navy and no idea what navy the UN sends.

I just hope erdogan is willing to retaliate should the russians attack. Otherwise him and Turkey are going to look really silly.
Erdogan will never retaliate IMO
Putin has a poweful weapon to conteract Turkey and Erdogan and that is cheap gas! All what Putin needs to do is to turn off the gas pipes and watch the Turks either freeze to death or go into an economic turmoil by buying super expensive gas

It would be quite difficult, first it should turn off the engines and cover the lids (particularly engine intakes and exhausts), or needs a snorkel (which we so far lack in the evidence).
Also the platform would require visibly huge stabilizers to move under the water, to conduct such a short maneuver right before arriving at the target, adjust its depth, maintain it (let's assume depth of target is known and fixed). Also would require rather complicated detection mechanisms for metallic objects above it, to detonate the warhead. Also further, it would loose the SATCOM / Starlink comms which needs to be autonomous from that point on.

Also the contact fuses suggest it is made to contact while sailing on surface.

⚡️IRIS-T has worked 100% on air targets today, - Yuri Ignat, press secretary of the Air Force

👉Does anyone still have doubts why Ukraine needs reliable air defense systems?

Russia spent from 400 to 700 million dollars on the morning missile attack on Ukraine🤷🏻‍♂️

The Air Force Command reported that more than 50 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles were launched in Ukraine. The cost of the Kh-101 rocket is $13 million, the cost of the Kh-555 is $7.5 million. The amount spent exceeds half of the annual budgets of Novosibirsk or Yekaterinburg.

Shit, millions of dollars just for turning off the light for Ukrainians for a few hours🤦🏻‍♂️

RuZZkies you will end up in junk
shouldnt be that hard to provide a link? I think a russian source regarding costs of their own shit would be more reliable than any ghost of kiev stories if you ask me. I dont want you to be like Joe Biden saying there is 54 states, it wont make people here believe you I think

Shahad is like 20,000 to 30,000 dollars, kalibr costs like 980k for internal use hitting multi-million power infrastructures, no idea where it says that other missiles were used?

Intel Slava Z:

The Armed Forces of Ukraine officially announced the destruction of 44 out of 50 missiles launched in Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine announced the destruction of 18 objects in 10 regions.

Thus, according to official Ukrainian statements, 6 missiles were able to hit 18 targets (3 per missile) in 10 regions .

I did not no air defenses existed from NATO where you can use one missile to be re-used 3 times in flight to hit 3 targets each.

Don't dictate to me about what i can and cannot talk about. Its you whose making a problem here. Don't like what i have to say use the ignore function. This isn't North Korea or Iran.

Thank you.

I have all the Russian shills on here who defend a genocidal regime on ignore, I don't tell them what they can or cannot talk about. I simple choose to ignore it. In a free society you need to allow all opposing ideas to have their say, because if you shut down their ability to freely talk you will end up shutting down your own in the long run.

You are under no obligation to agree or disagree or to like or dislike anything i have to say, but is disrespectful to start dictating to someone you don't know and will never know, what he should or shouldn't talk about.

And truth be told I've pointed out countless time on this forum that when i say Islamists i mean "political islamists" which really means "non-religious political opportunists operating in Muslim majority nations who use the religion for maximum personal profit and power."

The underlying ideology of Turkeys ruling party is important because it explains Turkeys behaviour towards Russia and then how that behaviour directly effects Ukraine as well as Turkey.

No geopolitical analyst would ignore the underlying ideology of the ones in power calling the shots.

Just like the underlying ideology for Putin and what led to his mad invasion of Ukraine was the belief in a greater imperial Russia in the mould of the former soviet union.
Erdogan is a pragmatist, and a very good one.
Since he has been in power the trade with Israel has skyrocketed. The "Islam" rhetoric is for votes only.

Europeans do not want this war. Europe wants its comfort. Because they know that the Ukraine-Russia war is being fought for the capitalist ambitions of the USA and England.
And here pro western/ Ukraine demonstration yesterday It has been reported this is bigger than protest two days ago.

Ex-president of Motor Sich (Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia) company sabotaged transfer of helicopters to Ukrainian army at beginning of full-scale war

Vyacheslav Boguslayev is a Ukrainian engineer, businessman and politician, Hero of Ukraine (2000). A former member of the Party of Regions,[1] Boguslayev served as a People's Deputy of Ukraine from 2006 to 2019. He is primarily known as chief engineer of Motor Sich, a company producing airplane engines Vyacheslav .

At the beginning of a full-scale war launched by Russia against Ukraine, Viacheslav Bohuslaev, the-then president of the Motor Sich Corporation ordered the disassembling of the helicopters produced by that corporation so that Ukrainian pilots could not use them.

Source: Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin, in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine

Details: According to him, in particular, Bohuslaev ordered the removal of the rotor blades from the helicopters.

Quote: "And trading such 'death engines' is not everything. The investigation [team] has information that at the beginning of a full-scale war, the president of Motor Sich, after a corresponding appeal from the Ukrainian military, ordered employees of the enterprise to hide documents from helicopters so that the Ukrainian defence forces could not use the equipment. They say that Ukrainian pilots will not sit at the helm of a helicopter without special forms.

But that's not all! After the Ukrainian military asked for helicopters, the president of Motor Sich gave the order to disassemble the equipment. [They] just remove[d] the blades from the helicopters."

More details: The prosecutor general drew attention to the fact that all of this happened at the beginning of the war, when Russian helicopters assaulted Hostomel [airfield], and Russian troops shelled Ukrainian cities, and "when timely support for the Armed Forces in the air was so important."

Czechia supported Ukraine's accession to NATO.

President Zelensky and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala signed a declaration supporting our country's entry into the alliance.

Contact fuses is the key here, they should explain themselves how it works. I totally agree with this last point, you shoulnd't have them if your intention is to explode the charge underneath the ship.

My guessing for a hypothetical updated version would be a predicted action based on it's computer rather than a fully unmaned submarine device. How it should look like IMO?

Assuming the device contains a logic chip/CPU with it's embeded SO, you may create an algorithm which calculates the exact or approximate maneuver the USV should do to perform this action.

-Assuming that the USV has a relatively effective way by itself to estimate the range to the target (laser, cameras, gps?).
-Main variable would be the profile of the ship to attack, ( span and draft ?) it should be relatively easy to get that data and select it from remote.
-You can get location, speed and slope from your own sensors, so you can calculate the whole maneuver to be done, adjusted from previous tests.

So...

-You won't need huge stabilizers, although fixed fins are not seen on the pictures we have, it can be done with moving fins mixed with fixed ones deployed at the moment of the triggered action.
-About intake, should be good to go with an oxigen tank, as stated before. Exhaust, just as sailboats, wet exhausts. It just needs a few seconds to make the effect.
-Internal tanks to be filled, they could take advantage of internal water stream to the engine refrigeration system, for filling them up without needing any additional pump.

Then basically when you trigger the action of "armed" it should be smart enough to submerge 10-15 meters underneath the ship when it stimates it's near enough.
Additional technology could be only for deployed/fins and watertight internal gates. In my opinion completely feasible archievement.
