France 🇫🇷 announced a new military aid package for Ukraine today. The details of the package include the following...

- 40 Additional SCALP-EG cruise missiles.
- " Several hundred" aviation bombs.

No word on exactly which aviation bombs will be sent, but Ukraine has wanted French AASM, GPS guided 500lb bombs for quite some time. If the AASM's have been successfully paired with Ukraine's SU-24s, Mig-29s or their incoming F-16s, that would make for another exceptional precision guided weapon at their disposal.

As for the SCALP-EG cruise missiles, it's fantastic to see France keep up Ukraine's small, strategic inventory of cruise missiles. Ukraine will need JASSM, Taurus, and their own domestic production into the future, but for now SCALP / Storm Shadow is an important deep strike assets for the Ukrainian Air Force.

So much for Slovakia 🇸🇰 not sending any additional weapons to Ukraine. It turns out (as I thought) it was simple grandstanding by Prime Minister Robert Fico, because Slovakia didn't have much left in its inventories that it could afford to donate.

That said, Slovak Parliament voted to allow their arms exporters to sell as many weapons and as much ammunition to Ukraine as they can find buyers for. Multiple Slovakian arms producers are now seeing records profits. None more so than ammunition and artillery shells producer ZVS Holdings, which is 50% owned by the Slovakian Government.

According to Jaroslav Nad, the Slovakian Defense Minister:

"Almost 100 percent of the munitions production of ZVS Holding for the next two or three years has been sold out to Ukraine,"...

Make no mistake about it, as Ukraine prepares to spend $42+ Billion usd out of its own coffers on defense in 2024, a good chunk of that money is earmarked to buy ammunition directly from Slovak, Finnish, Polish and Bulgarian firms. ZVS Holdings sold Ukraine 44 million Euros worth of said ammunition through the first 7 months of 2023. Total purchases for the year were between 60-70 million Euros. That number is expected to rise throughout 2024 as ZVS Holdings has now successfully doubled its 155mm artillery shells production from 25,000 shells per year, to 50,000 shells per year. Further capacity expansion to 75,000 shells per year is already underway.

The European Union 🇪🇺 is now confident that they will finalize a deal with Victor Orban and Hungary in the next few weeks that will see Orban lift his VETO, allowing the 50 Billion Euro aid package to Ukraine to pass in short order. Orban is expected to get some EU concessions in return, but none of his silly demands that would allow Hungary to blackmail the EU in the future.

There is no victory here for Ukraine. There was a window of opportunity after, Ukrainian success in Kharkov and Kerson offensive. They gave Russia 5 or 6 months to prepare.
Of course, even if Ukraine wanted to carry on the operations after those victories , they couldn't due to lack of material.
The only thing I don't understand, why Russia is not willing to make this conflict a less bloody.
Keep harassing for year or two then make a tangible breakthrough.

there are no nothing word to protect your homeland, whar ever cause it

More would probably die had the Ukrainians just let the Russians in. Russians would have gone on a massive purge and potentially millions of Ukrainians would have been killed as happened in the past. Its very possible when all is said and done less Ukrainians will die fighting a war then had just they capitulated.

I feel like lots of people are quite ignorant on how brutal Russian history is. Its basically a mafia state and has been run that way really for the past 100 years.

USA 🇺🇸 will provide Ukraine with 17 "FrankenSAM" systems, using Soviet era BUK and KUB SAM platforms, retrofitted to fire RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missiles. The U.S. has hundreds of surplus sea sparrows that have been made obsolete by newer "evolved Sea Sparrow" missiles. With a range of approximately 20km, RIM-7 is ideal for intercepting drones and slower moving missiles.

The first "FrankenSAM" systems arrived in Ukraine and December and the USA will provide Ukraine with a further 5 systems in each of January, February and March.

A good leader knows when he must fight and when not to fight. If you cant win a war, than there is no logic explanaition to fight because you are destroying yourself.

Putin explained last week that Russia accepted every Ukrainian term in Istanbul in april 2022 when Erdogan brokered a peace deal. On everything was agreed, even on the status of Crimea the Russians made concessions.

Both parties agreed, Turkey was the peacemaker and Erdogan would get a Nobel Price.

And then Boris Johnson arrived in Kiev and told Zelensky to reject the deal.

Ukraine and Turkey didnt debunked Putins claims this week. So it must be true.

Do you really believe this? I mean, is there anybody still believing what Putin says? Nobody needs to debunk what Putin says anymore, because he has lied so many times that nobody cares what he says now.
