OMG russia and "election" in one sentence :)

I hope Putin will stay alive to the moment when he'll see how he destroyed his russia. But most likely he will be killed when others decided to end this war and "make business" with comrades from Germany etc.

Still better than Ukraine. Non existent election.

Shoigu is not a soldier. Laws change in all countries of course but in Turkey officers can vote, while conscripts can't. Probably same in Russia.

Conscripts are basically treated like slaves. They are forced to work for their country against their will, and they don’t even get the right to vote. But you will hear people talk about the male privilege and how bad women have it. At least women ae not forced into slavery for a good part of their youth.

It is just so strange that the US, being the prime instigator of this war, is the one that benefitted the most, lost the least and even gained more influence than the pre-war era...

No, the prime instigator of this war is Russia, and it is not benefiting from it. Russia is losing thousands of young men, has had a huge outflow of migration of skilled labor and its economy is in shambles. The instigator is not doing well at all.

it is honestly just insane...... I mean just look at this👇

Russia vs Ukraine
Europe vs Ukraine
Turkey vs Greece, Cyprus, Armenia, Iran
Azerbaijan vs Iran, Greece and Armenia
Some Turkic states are fighting till this date
Turkey vs Israel
The whole Arab world vs Israel
UAE vs KSA
Ethiopia vs Egypt
Sudan civil war
Libya civil war
China vs India
China vs S.korea, Japan, Philippines etc
S.Korea vs Japan
India vs Afghanistan
Algeria vs Morrocco
And much more......

It just so weird that within each of these conflicts mentioned above, the US has a hand in it yet it somehow doesnt materialistically fight at all and just enjoy the two sides killing each other from a far and safe distance and growing peacefully while such nations get weaker and break

The US’s “hand” in these conflicts is possible just because those countries are unwilling to live peacefully togethr. It is not the US’s fault that other countries are led by dictators and madmen who send their people to death for idiotic reasons.

Why doesn’t a foreign power manage to pit the US in a war against Canada or Mexico? Maybe it’s because the US, Mexican and Canadian leaders are not the stupid.

This is exactly what is happening right now; although I may be a bit of a conspiracy theorist though😅

Conspiracy theory at full throttle if you think the US is the main instigator of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The big deal is not the French going to war. The big deal is IF they can sustain their stay.

Too many losses and then what ? france announces conscription? Yeah I'd like to see the faces of the French once that happened.

If the French will join the war (which right now is still a very unlikely possibility), it will probably be in a way that the losses they sustain will be minimal. It’s not like the French will send people in the trenches or storming units.

However, the French could support the Ukrainians with long range strikes, air defence and aviation, to deteriorate the Russian forces while sustaining minimal losses. The French interfered in the Lybian civil war and they tilted the balance of power against Gaddafi (who died after his convoy was hit by a French strike), yet they incurred zero losses.

A high tech military like France can help without committing much personnel and without risking high loses, if there is a local army willing to do the heavy lifting, like the Ukrainians are doing now.

Gaddafi didn't have Tu-22s. There's nothing stopping Russians from striking French soldiers under French flag in Ukraine if they were to act in such capacity.

Russia doesn't have rigged or faked elections. It's just that every other candidate are strongly advised to not be a thorn in the side of the glorious state. It's pretty out in the open.

If you truly believe that it was Russia that began the war then you are extremely deluded

All of us know that Putin is a man of action; what were you guys expecting when that idiot Zelensky came to power and kept saying bullshit like.... lets join NATO when Russia is literally right over the other side?

Did you guys think that Putin will say...... oh sure, go ahead, you have my blessings?

It is extremely unbelievable that till this day there are people who believe that Russia was the one that started the war

Any country in Ukraine's position, faced with a Russian neighbour, who even before any talk of Ukraine and Nato had already began acting in a hostile way, then Ukraine would have been stupid not to be at least considering trying to get into NATO. Russia was targeting Ukraine long before Zelensky came to power.

Ukraine joining NATO has never really been close to being a reality. If this was Russia's sole reason for joining the war, they could have easily said 'any application from Ukraine to join NATO would force us to immediately invade'. It would have stopped it dead in its tracks anyway. It wasn't close to happening for exactly this reason anyway.

The Crimea, South Georgia, The polonium incidents, anyone could see years ago Russia was becoming more and more rogue and its neighbours would understandably be more drawn to the idea of joining the safety of NATO.

You start a war by invading another country. So yes Russia started the war, they weren't backed into a corner and faced with a battle for their very survival with zero options. Far from it. With a resurgent China, Russia was very secure and unthreatened geopolitically no matter how Putin spins it. Now its in trouble.

Quite funny that by saying 'we invaded to stop NATO growing right to our borders', is also an admission by the Russians that they screwed up, as the result has been Finland and Sweden joining and it's happened anyway!

What happened to the French so they started acting so hard? They try to stimulate the rest of Europe to get their shit together or there's something else? I don't see how the French will stop the Russians alone if SHTF.

smoke and mirrors, if they were against each other they wouldn't be working together in libya and syria. He's chatting shit from a completely comfortable and safe position.

Still better than Ukraine. Non existent election.
Ukraine has had 5 democratically elected presidents since 2000: Kuchma, Yuschenko, Yanukovich, Poroshenko, Zelensky. Each with differing platforms and ideas. For the past 25 years, Russia has had two, and that's if we're counting Medvedev as an independent president rather than Putin's placeholder. The comparison is absurd, and you well know that, but instead prefer to position yourself as Russia's cheerleader.

Ukraine is in martial law, has a significant portion of its population and land under occupation, is under existential threat, would need to dedicate significant resources to organizing an election (approximately $200 million), and would place the lives of its citizens at risk if they were to congregate in large numbers at voting places across the country. Ukraine's constitution provides that elections cannot be held in such a case, and this part has been in Ukraine's Constitution from before the war.
