With drones being used extensively in combat in Ukraine, it appears that the Russian army has an excess of drones in some areas of the front. Footage has been released of three Russian drones striking a Ukrainian M113A2 armored personnel carrier. The M113 armored personnel carriers were developed in the United States in 1957. Near the town of Dvurechnaya in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, a Ukrainian M113A2 armored personnel carrier was attacked by a Lancet drone, a Vandal FPV drone, and a third drone dropped ammunition on the armored personnel carrier. Judging by the video, the combat vehicle had been abandoned earlier by the crew.

Fair enough. I can live with it being closer to the AMX-10RC than the BMP-2. Point taken.

That said, the two vehicles (BMP-2 and M-80) serve a similar capability on the battlefield, support for infantry, so I'm comfortable leaving it where it is on my list for now.

Poland will not give any more Leopards but in 2025 we will get about 100 new K2 and 120 new M1A2SEPv3 so in reality I think about 100 PT91 will be sent to Ukraine.

I'm not saying that you guys will (understandably) send more Leopard 2s to Ukraine, I'm simply saying that I project the West COULD (if the political will existed) send what I listed to keep the Ukrainian brigades fully stocked with Western armor and able to absorb losses.

I agree with you that Poland is more likely to send part of / the remainder of their PT-91 Twardys as aid, particularly as dozens of K2s and Abrams make their way into your military this year from South Korea and United States . My understanding is that you guys just received a new batch of 28 M1A2 SEP V3 Abrams this week, and are expecting two more shipments of them mixed with M1A1s in 2025 (which will be upgraded later), bringing the 2025 total to approximately 100 units (with 150 units to be delivered in 2026). Meanwhile, you guys will also receive 96 additional K2 Black Panthers this year, completing the order of 180 units from South Korea, with the rest being built under license in Poland in the years to come.

Therefore, Poland should receive approximately 200 new MBTs this year and makes sense that they'll be willing to donate (likely with compensation from the EU to help pay for their new MBTs) the remainder, or close to it, of their PT-91s. It would be a logistical and cost nightmare for Poland to support 4 MBTs in their arsenal with PT-91, Leopard 2, M1A1/2 and K2 simultaenously.

That said, the plan as I understand it is for Poland to eventually feature 2 platforms, Abrams and K2, which means in time they will be looking to divest their Leopard 2s, likely selling them to a European customer interested in upgrading them for their own use. My proposal would be the following. Lease 18-20 additional units of M1A1 from the U.S. (they have hundreds literally doing nothing) and in turn, sell 18-20 additional units of Leopard 2 to Ukraine to help them replenish their losses. Allow Ukraine to use funding from the massive G7 loan they just received to pay for the lease of the M1A1s from the U.S. and pay market price for the purchase of the Leopard 2s from Poland.

Everybody wins. Poland gets more of the MBTs they are transitioning to and makes cash on the sale of MBTs they are moving away from. USA makes cash for leasing out MBTs that are simply sitting in storage collecting dust. Ukraine spends a reasonable amount of money to get 18-20 additional Leopard 2s, which would replace the bulk of the ones they've had completely destroyed at this point.

Reason he might be pulling an investigation or audit is

A) The money or equipment is not going where it's supposed to.
B). A peace deal is in the process.

Episodes of combat work in Ukraine, the Russian tank T-72 with protection type "Tsar-mangal" have been published. In addition to protection, the tank is also equipped with electronic warfare systems. The T-72 is used by the 4th motorized rifle brigade of the Armed Forces of Russia. During the military operations in Ukraine, the tank is also used to deliver supplies and land troops. According to the crew of the T-72 tank, their version of the "Tsar-mangal" protection can withstand up to 20 attacks by Ukrainian FPV drones. Judging by the video, the tank's protection really copes with many attacks by Ukrainian drones.

NO USA's military aid for Ukraine is NOT stopping on the back of the 90 day freeze in State Department backed aid announced by Marco Rubio and the State Department. Military aid does not flow through USAID it flows through the Pentagon via Presidential Drawdown Authority, USAI and Foreign Military Aid programs. It is a seperate pool of funding and there remains $3.85 Billion usd worth of funds left in the Presidential Drawdown Authority pool of funding.

Furthermore, the entirety of the $20 Billion usd American portion of the G7's loan to Ukraine is also not being blocked, because the Biden administration transferred it to the World Bank before Trump took office, so that it couldn't be halted or blocked. That money is already being distributed to Ukraine.

The only aid that will be temporarily suspended from Ukraine will be any USAID funding they gets for programs like demining and food security. The EU will have to pick up tab in that area for a while.

Military aid to Ukraine will continue unblocked, including deliveries of items that were purchased under contract for Ukraine and paid for by the Biden Administration. Now, Trump could choose to refuse to announce any NEW packages from Presidential Drawdown Authority, but it's yet to be seen if he'll order the Pentagon to halt those actions. It seems unlikely given that the funding is already approved. Time will tell.

Reports that in response to American pressure (likely tied to continued military aid) Ukraine is looking at opening military service up to citizens age 18-25. Here is the key. There is no talk of conscription in that age range, rather the use of financial incentives to encourage voluntary service.

Basically, what we have discussed on this board. They're trying to increase their recruiting effort through financial incentivization strategies. Time will tell how many new recruits this strategy will yield and what kind of financial incentives will be put into place.

Not only does the average American make considerably more money than the average Russian, it costs the average Russian approximately $1.52 for every $1.00 an American spends for the same / comparable expense... The Russian purchasing power is substantially less, at the same time that they're substantially poorer. That's being exacerbated significantly by the out if control inflation right now in Russia that Government is trying to conceal. Russian inflation for the average person is between 30-35% since 2022 and it's only expected to worsen in 2025 as Russia takes on more debt and sells short terms bonds at insane 16-20% interest rates. They're literally dooming their population to crippling inflation fueled poverty, to continue a war that can't reasonably be won. They have no hope of taking Kharkiv, or Kramatorsk-Slovyansk anytime soon, and it's taken them 3 years to take 20% of Ukraine... The easiest part of the country to take, closest to Russia, with the easiest logistics and the most partisan Russian populous. It only gets wayyyyyyy harder from here.

Yes, there are 700,000+ homeless people in USA. Yes, there are 38 million people in USA that live at or below the poverty line. But as a percentage of the population, that's 11% of the population, a small number in the grand scheme of things.

I don't disagree necessarily. I think most Western democracies are to an extent with it being most obvious in America when you look who had front row seats at Trump's inauguration.

It's the Kleptocratic component that makes Russia different. Without a single doubt in my mind there is corruption and a certain degree of theft inside every government, but the Oligarchs of Russia have literally stolen hundrefs of billions and possibly even trillions from the Russian people under Putin's reign.
