Just to add to this story, these 90'ish Patriot interceptors were in storage, used previously for Israel's now retired Patriot systems. The Americans are refurbishing the interceptors to bring them up to current standards, so they can be used sparingly, to intercept Russian ballistic missiles that only SAMP/T among the remainder of Ukraine's air defense systems can handle.

Ukraine is also pushing Israel to send components of their retired Patriot systems to Ukraine so that Ukraine can develop a stockpile of parts, launchers, radars, etc.

The second drone attacked a nearby M113 armored personnel carrier, apparently it came to help. The FV105 Sultan command and staff vehicle has been produced in the UK since 1978, with a total of 136 units produced. The FV105 Sultan hull contains up to 4 radio stations, a table for topographic maps and tablets, and additional batteries. The FV105 Sultan is armed with a 7.62 mm machine gun. The FV105 Sultan crew is up to six people. The Russian army also has captured FV105 Sultans. Judging by the video, the combat vehicles have already been abandoned by their crews. The video was filmed near the village of Petrovskoye on the Svatovo-Kremennaya front.

There are a good amount of users here(not saying everyone), that lack common sense on why artillery is a preference in this war over using an air force. And some of these said users lack common sense that every time Ukraine's forces always get themselves into cauldrons on the map will always result in their casualties being the highest in any battle of this war.



What it looks like every time Ukrainians get themselves into a cauldron.



There are many reasons why you never want to get yourself surrounded all the fucking time in this war.

• You get yourself surrounded by gunfire every time you have to conduct any kind of movement to get to building A to building B. You have far less cover as in bullets can hit you from the back, left or right side every time you have to change positions while your adversaries have cover every time they move towards your position because they are covered by their armed forces in all directions heading to your direction.
• You are entrapped, as in you are limited in ammunition, food and supplies while the adversary forces can get resupplied anytime they want from the back.
• Buildings offer coverage from gunfire 360 degrees but a minimum of 8 soldiers are needed to have 4 cover 90 degrees from incoming adversary forces and an additional 4 soldiers to rotate every 12 hours. Any side that is not covered would result in a breach from adversary forces.
• Trying to break out of a cauldron would be difficult because a sufficient amount of force and movement to a specific direction is needed to break out of one will leave your forces exposed in multiple sides by adversary forces.
• Staying in buildings for a long amount of time will let adversary forces plan artillery strikes, kamikaze drones or RPGs to be launched into the building you are using for cover. And in Ukraine's case this adversary has more than 10 times the firepower to use rockets and shells more than they do.

I dont have to look at what Ukraine or Russia claim in deaths and casualties. I just see which side is the one filled with dumbasses getting themselves surrounded and I decide it from there.

Another massive blow to Russia. Ukraine struck the Lukoil Refinery in Kstovo in Nizhny Novgorod with a significant swarm of drones. The result is a fire that engulfed the facility.

This is Russia's 3rd largest refining facility in the entire country. It processes 15 millions tons of oil each year and makes up 5% of Russia's total refining capacity.

This is the 3rd signifant strike on a key Russian refining installation in the last week and in all cases, the strikes did not simply minor damage, but took the facilities off line for long periods of time. In total, approximately 10% of Russia's refining capacity has been taken off line for an extended period of time that will be measured in numerous months.

Not only does this impact Russia economically, at a time in which they can't afford it, these facilities also employ thousands of Russian workers that will be laid off / lose their employment and will become a financial burden to the state, or meat to feed into wood chipper that is the front lines in Ukraine. Good riddance.

The Lukoil refinery of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod, in Russia has been severely hit by UAVs. Flames are consuming large parts of the facility, which processes annually 15 million tons of crude oil. It is the forth largest refinery in Russia in terms of production.

Good news for Ukraine. Less than 1 month before the Federal election in Germany , it looks like Friedrich Merz will be the next Chancellor in Germany. Although there isn't likely going to be a majority, Merz's center right party is heavily in favour of not only continuing, but increasing support to Ukraine. Among the initiatives that Merz supports is increasing German military aid to Ukraine from the $4.2 Billion usd currently slated for 2025, to $7.3 Billion usd, much more in line with 2024. Merz also supports sending Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, with the goal of further increasing Ukraine's long range strike capabilities.

If the additional aid money can be unlocked, it will allow Germany to send dozens of extra armored vehicles to Ukraine in 2025, as well as additional air defense systems and interceptors.

The H10 Poseidon II UAV is produced by the Cypriot company Swarmly, its main tasks are reconnaissance and artillery adjustment. The H10 Poseidon II UAV is poorly detected by air defense, it has a flight range of up to 150 km, with a communication range of up to 50 km, flight time of 2 hours. The speed of the UAV is up to 100 km / h, at a flight altitude of up to 4000 meters, with a payload of up to 3 kg. The cost of the H10 Poseidon II UAV with a control system is about 318 thousand euros.

Are Russian government revenues from crude exports to India and China about to drop dramatically, increasing demand on Russia's dwindling financial reserves?

Washington imposed fresh sanctions on Jan. 10 targeting Russia's oil supply chain, causing tanker freight rates to soar as some buyers and ports in China and India steered clear of sanctioned ships.

In India, Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd's (BPCL.NS), finance chief told Reuters last week that it has not received any new offers for March delivery, as it would ordinarily have, and expects the number of cargoes offered for March to drop from January and December.
India typically receives offers for Russian crude during the middle of each month.
