From a right-of-centre English newspaper:

Russia will be plunged into a "massive ethnic conflict" when Vladimir Putin's regime collapses, Ukrainian partisans have told Express.co.uk.

Atesh is a partisan group that is based in the Crimea, whose members are mostly made up of local Tatars and Ukrainians.

Meaning "fire" in the Tatar language, Atesh was formed in the immediate aftermath of Putin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Its main functions include carrying out sabotage operations against the Russian army, as well as intelligence gathering and supporting pro-Ukrainian resistance movements in the occupied territories.

Russia is made up of a complex tapestry of ethnic cultures and people, with over 190 different nationalities living in the country.

The Tatars, who are of Turkic origin, form the largest group of these, with a population of just over 5.3 million, according to a 2010 national census.

Most of them live in the autonomous republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, that are part of the Russian Federation.

Both these republics have established national movements fighting for independence from the Kremlin and who make natural allies for Atesh.

Will this nationalist group be able to really trouble Putin, diverting military resources from being used elsewhere?

Just a fantasy, the Turkic people of Russia are ''Russified'',they wont do shit.
The Crimean Tatars however are fighting with Ukraine against the Russians.
Take for instance the other Turkic states formerly under Russian rule like Kazakistan,Turkmenistan,Oezbekistan,Kirgizistan after 30 years of independence still think Russian.

To the Ukrainians thank you for the Stalker series.

Despite the war which is tragic. Stalker 2 has now become one of my favourite games of this era of consoles.

Despite the crappy disappointment of games lately. The Ukrainians despite the odds able to release it. Stalker 2 is not perfect but the game is much better than the crap thats getting released.

Ukrainians with a small devopment team able to a better job than EA, Activision and Ubisoft.

An episode of a battle between two Ukrainian stormtroopers and one Russian soldier. The location of the shooting is not reported, the video is filmed and commented on by a Russian drone, but another unknown drone is also visible in the frame. As reported, the Russian stormtrooper captured a Ukrainian dugout. After that, Ukrainian servicemen tried to push it out of there. As a result of the battle, the Ukrainian stormtroopers retreated. The Russian soldier also later left the dugout due to shelling by Ukrainian artillery. As reported, the positions were later captured by Russian units, but this is not shown in the video.

Ukraine has officially received it's first batch of Mirage 2000-5F fighter jets from France 🇫🇷. While the number delivered has not yet been disclosed, France previously stated that Ukraine would receive at least 6 units before March, so it's assumed that's what has arrived.

The Mirage 2000-F5 will supplement SU-25s and SU-27s in their ground attack role, while F-16s are in the process of replacing Ukraine's fleet of Mig-29s in their air-to-air role.

The Ukrainian army has launched a new February counteroffensive in the Kursk region. This is the second counter offensive of the Ukrainian army, the first in January was previously shown. Fighting is taking place in the area of the settlements of Ulanok, Makhnovka, Konopelka. The goal of the offensive is to enter the rear of Russian troops and preserve the supply lines of the troops. There are no results yet, but there is video of drone attacks. Russian troops are using classic FPV drones and drones "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky", controlled by fiber optic cable. As reported, the drones attacked T-64 tanks, the Wisent 1 MC engineering vehicle, Cougar H armored vehicles, the M113 armored personnel carrier, and the Kozak armored vehicle and other equipment. At the moment, this is not complete data.

I think that Putin would rather bleed Russia to death than acknowledge the failure of his blitzkrieg plan to take over Ukraine.

The promise of an alliance between his autocratic self and an autocratic US president does not look to be materialising.

In retrospect, does Putin think that releasing photos of the wife of the US president in the nude to Russian media was such a clever idea?

High-quality footage of a strike by a Russian FPV drone "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky", controlled via fiber optic cable, on a Ukrainian self-propelled gun Panzerhaubitze 2000. The Pzh 2000 self-propelled gun is equipped with a 155-mm cannon and has been produced in Germany since 1998, information about it is on the channel. The video was filmed near the village of Fedorovka, for an unknown reason, the Pzh 2000 self-propelled artillery gun ended up at the front line, at a distance of 8 km. Perhaps this is due to the lack of long-range active-reactive projectiles V-LAP or M982 Excalibur projectiles. Naturally, the Pzh 2000 self-propelled gun was immediately noticed by Russian drone operators. Judging by the video, the FPV drone "Vandal" struck the aft part of the howitzer, the place where the shells are stored. As a result of an attack by a Russian FPV drone, ammunition exploded in a Ukrainian Pzh 2000 howitzer.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for united support of his army in his annual new year address, without explicitly referring to the war he is waging in Ukraine.

The Kremlin leader hailed his soldiers as "heroes... at the forefront of the fight for truth".

He also referenced economic issues, a key topic for many Russians, and declared 2024 the "year of the family".

The address was a more subdued affair than the previous year's.

Last year, Mr Putin delivered his speech flanked by soldiers and offered stern calls for sacrifice in the name of survival. This year he was back to the traditional backdrop of the Kremlin, alone.

"To everyone who is at a combat post, at the forefront of the fight for truth and justice: You are our heroes, our hearts are with you," he said, adding: "We are proud of you, we admire your courage."

That was as close as Mr Putin got to making mention of the thousands of Russian casualties in the war with Ukraine

On Wednesday[this week], Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a conversation with the region's governor that the situation in Kursk is ‘very difficult’.

Putin needs to decide whether the war is going well or not, I think.

I wait to hear further stories from Putin of how much stronger the Russian economy is compared to how it was 23rd February 2022.

Most economics reporters/analysts I have read believe Putin overruled a central bank 1%-2% base rate rise in December. I have not heard what happened in January, so I guess the rate is still 21%

Inflation figures? The official figures are not credible: most economic analysts I have read estimate inflation to be much higher than the 9.5% reported by the government in January. The lowest rate I have seen estimated by economists is 18%.

If the Russian public are unaware of being duped, all well and good. Duping the public about the state of the Russian economy won't actually improve it, though.

Footage of an incredible breakthrough of a Russian, presumably BMP-2, under attack by Ukrainian drones. It is worth noting that Russian BMPs are often criticized for their weak protection, but even with minor modifications, the BMP can withstand multiple drone attacks, which is confirmed by this video. This is the second video on the channel showing that BMPs equipped with protection can withstand not only RPGs, but also drone attacks. In this case, the BMP-2 is equipped with screens on the sides and a "Mangal", protecting the combat vehicle from ammunition drops from above. The Russian BMP-2 is attacked by Ukrainian FPV drones, two Baba Yaga-type drones also drop ammunition on the BMP. The BMP crew skillfully uses one of the advantages of the combat vehicle, high speed, simultaneously firing suppressive fire. The location of the shooting is not reported, presumably the BMP broke through to the Ukrainian stronghold located in the forest belt. After which, it landed troops and retreated to its original positions.

You must know by now that Russia doesnt give a f...k about those figures,if there is a war to be fought economy is not important.
Same goes for many mostly none ''western'' countries.
If my country has to go to war,it will be the same.

The people trying to keep the Russian economy functioning will certainly care about those figures. Why, if the state of the economy is unimportant during a war?

Some technological advancements that might be important in assisting their war effort later down the line.
Russian manufacturers ‘grow’ jet turbine blades from powder — researcher
According to Mikhail Kovalchuk, Russia is one of five countries in the world to have full-cycle jet engine production
MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. Currently, Russian manufacturers "grow" turbine blades for gas turbine engines from special powder instead of cutting them from a hunk of metal, thus reducing the production period from six months to just ten days, President of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Centre (NRC) Mikhail Kovalchuk said.

"Our country is one of five in the world to have full-cycle jet engine production. One of the most critical components is the turbine blade, which operates at extremely high speeds and temperatures. Currently, the blades for our jet engines are being ‘grown’ by the dozens, cutting production times from six months to ten days," he said during a session of the Presidential Council for Science and Education, chaired by President Vladimir Putin.

"We used to cut the pieces from a huge chunk of metal. Now, they are grown from powder with 30-micron particles," Kovalchuk added.
Scientists working to get Russia to Mars first — engineer
Winner of a presidential award Natalya Cherkashina said that her research was aimed at developing radiation shielding composites to protect cosmonauts and electronic equipment during long orbital flights
MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. Natalya Cherkashina, recent winner of a presidential award for her work as an engineer, has told Russian President Vladimir Putin that she and her colleagues will do everything they can to win the space race to the Red Planet.

During Putin’s meeting with laureates of the presidential prize, the president asked Cherkashina whether a human flight to Mars is currently possible. "Not yet," she replied. "But it is possible [in theory], and we will do our best to make sure Russia gets there first."

Cherkashina said that her research was aimed at developing radiation shielding composites to protect cosmonauts and electronic equipment during long orbital flights.

"First of all, the use of our materials will pave the way for longer spaceflights, which is particularly important for the lunar program, and, secondly, it will allow for the use of ordinary electronic chips, which are way cheaper than their counterparts designed specifically for space use," the researcher said.

Presidential Aide Andrey Fursenko said the efficacy of Cherkashina’s research was proven by Russian cosmonauts, who "confirmed that this material significantly broadens our ability to shield cosmonauts [from harmful cosmic rays]."

Natalya Cherkashina, DSc (Engineering Science), is a leading researcher at V. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University.
Rosatom scientists have created a laboratory prototype of a plasma electric rocket engine based on a magnetic plasma accelerator with increased thrust parameters (at least 6 N) and specific impulse (at least 100 km/s). The work was carried out within the framework of a comprehensive program for the development of nuclear science, engineering and technology in Russia, which in 2025 became part of the new national project of technological leadership "New Nuclear and Energy Technologies".
The average power of such an engine, operating in a pulse-periodic mode, reaches 300 kW. Such engines make it possible to accelerate a spacecraft in space to speeds that are inaccessible to chemical engines, and also allow for the efficient use of fuel reserves, reducing its need by tens of times.

"Currently, a flight to Mars using conventional engines can take almost a year one way, which is dangerous for astronauts due to cosmic radiation and radiation exposure. Using plasma engines can shorten the mission to 30-60 days, meaning it will be possible to send an astronaut to Mars and back. Creating a prototype is one of the most important stages of the project, since it determines whether such an engine will be suitable for space "nuclear tugs" in the future, and whether it will be possible to reduce the costs of their production in general," commented Alexey Voronov, First Deputy Director General for Science at the Rosatom Research Institute in Troitsky
Putin affirms plans to boost science investment to 2% of GDP insrunace
"We assume that science and its achievements are the fundamental issue for sovereignty and the future of Russia," the head of state stressed
MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. The plan to increase domestic spending for science remains valid and such expenditures are to reach at least 2% of GDP by 2030, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"We will concentrate required resources to strengthen the scientific foundation of technology development in order to develop science together with domestic companies. We will scale up domestic investments for research and development to at least 2% of GDP by 2030. This will enable Russia to join ranks of leading countries of the globe by the science financing volume. [Financing] from the government budget is meant in the first instance but this volume will grow along with engagement of our major technology partners," Putin said at a ceremony of giving awards to young researchers.

Such a detailed narrative is needed for young researchers and their colleagues to know that science advancement plans are outlined in advance, the head of state said. "We assume that science and its achievements are the fundamental issue for sovereignty and the future of Russia. They determine our development, our security and, which is very important, quality of life of our citizens," the Russian leader noted.

Great scientific discoveries always "create new opportunities for the people," Putin noted. "I look forward to your participation in this creative and exciting work, from your side and all your colleagues," the president told award winners.
AI code-executing chips among top priorities for Russia — scholar
Russian scientists boast sufficient competences and have made significant progress in many such areas where the international community awaits new breakthroughs in the artificial intelligence sphere, Arutyun Avetisyan said
MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. Russian science and microprocessor industry must develop technologies and hardware platforms that enable launching and operating already trained neural networks and machine learning systems as a matter of priority, Director of the Institute of System Programming Arutyun Avetisyan said at a press conference in TASS.

"Speaking about confidence and security, we need to not merely implement independent research in the artificial intelligence sphere but to develop our equipment as well. We often say we lag behind in hardware development, but it is vital for us to create hardware capable of performing the so-called inference - to run the code of an already trained artificial intelligence system. The whole range of studies should be performed to this end, including in the area of photonics and neuromorphic computing," Avetisyan noted.

Russian scientists boast sufficient competences and have made significant progress in many such areas where the international community awaits new breakthroughs in the artificial intelligence sphere, he added.
Russia’s satellite constellation to grow to 650 devices by 2030
Yury Borisov stressed that the number did not include commercial satellites
MOSCOW, January 28. /TASS/. Russia’s satellite constellation is expected to grow to about 650 state-owned satellites as part of the National Project, dubbed "The Development of Multi-Satellite Orbital Constellation," Yury Borisov, CEO of Russia’s Roscosmos State Space Corporation, said.

"This year, an ambitious national project will commence, which is aimed at strengthening our position in space and assisting our industry in becoming the driving force to ensure our technological sovereignty. The project’s goal is to create a multi-satellite constellation of about 650 devices by 2030," Borisov pointed out at the plenary session of the 49th Academic Space Readings in memory of Soviet space pioneer Sergey Korolev (the Korolev Readings).

He stressed that the number did not include commercial satellites. "This is more than just a number. Each satellite will become Russia’s eyes, ears, and voice in space, enabling advanced communication, navigation, and Earth monitoring," the Roscosmos chief added.

According to him, the national project includes five federal projects. One of them, called Sphere, is aimed at the comprehensive development of space information technologies. Work with private companies is underway in accordance with the Space Cooperation federal project; the Production federation project’s goal is to ensure a transition to the assembly-line production of devices, while the Methane federal project aims to create new-generation multi-use launch vehicles based on environmentally friendly components.

Borisov noted that Roscosmos was implementing the fifth national project, titled Scientific and Educational Satellites, together with the Ministry of Education and Science. He said that the work involved training at least 40,000 specialists through new educational programs and developing a series of small scientific and educational spacecraft. The Roscosmos CEO emphasized that at least 20 new models of rocket and space vehicles were expected to be created after the project was implemented.

Still waiting if Trump is going to throw in extra billions or not because the return on investment for keeping western Ukraine still has some rich resources or they can continue the war to make negotiations harder for Ukraine with a chance of further risking even western Ukraine with a possibility of getting zero return on investment instead. The west is going to be stuck with
1. try a negotiation this year and the resources you will get in return will still help you with the amount of money you gave Ukraine.
2. Ukraine meets your demand of lowering their mobilization age to 18, time goes by, mobilization laws will further lower the age that it gets to the point that there is lesser and lesser resistance of even taking western Ukraine which you might get nothing in return.

Ukraine does have crucial resources like will the rest of the western and even eastern world, will they be happy with just 20% of neon which is crucial material for phones, computers and laptops or do they need the other percentage that Russia has which can also boost China's power? If some of the material Ukraine does have is really crucial to the world market that means that lifting sanctions from Russia will further boost their economy than what they are going to keep from Ukraine.

Also this guy needs to shut up. Its like the more he talks the lower he raises the hopes of pro-ukraine users here.
1739037129091.png

Edit: I am going to pretend with spitfire9's views that magically somehow the Russian economy sinks before the war is over. Do you think the Chinese who are sanctioned from receiving chips from the west and started making their own would be happy with the west having 100% of the material that makes chips, or do you think with their economy and soldiers they would go into the war themselves?
