From a right-of-centre English newspaper:

Russia will be plunged into a "massive ethnic conflict" when Vladimir Putin's regime collapses, Ukrainian partisans have told Express.co.uk.

Atesh is a partisan group that is based in the Crimea, whose members are mostly made up of local Tatars and Ukrainians.

Meaning "fire" in the Tatar language, Atesh was formed in the immediate aftermath of Putin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Its main functions include carrying out sabotage operations against the Russian army, as well as intelligence gathering and supporting pro-Ukrainian resistance movements in the occupied territories.

Russia is made up of a complex tapestry of ethnic cultures and people, with over 190 different nationalities living in the country.

The Tatars, who are of Turkic origin, form the largest group of these, with a population of just over 5.3 million, according to a 2010 national census.

Most of them live in the autonomous republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, that are part of the Russian Federation.

Both these republics have established national movements fighting for independence from the Kremlin and who make natural allies for Atesh.

Will this nationalist group be able to really trouble Putin, diverting military resources from being used elsewhere?

Just a fantasy, the Turkic people of Russia are ''Russified'',they wont do shit.
The Crimean Tatars however are fighting with Ukraine against the Russians.
Take for instance the other Turkic states formerly under Russian rule like Kazakistan,Turkmenistan,Oezbekistan,Kirgizistan after 30 years of independence still think Russian.

To the Ukrainians thank you for the Stalker series.

Despite the war which is tragic. Stalker 2 has now become one of my favourite games of this era of consoles.

Despite the crappy disappointment of games lately. The Ukrainians despite the odds able to release it. Stalker 2 is not perfect but the game is much better than the crap thats getting released.

Ukrainians with a small devopment team able to a better job than EA, Activision and Ubisoft.

An episode of a battle between two Ukrainian stormtroopers and one Russian soldier. The location of the shooting is not reported, the video is filmed and commented on by a Russian drone, but another unknown drone is also visible in the frame. As reported, the Russian stormtrooper captured a Ukrainian dugout. After that, Ukrainian servicemen tried to push it out of there. As a result of the battle, the Ukrainian stormtroopers retreated. The Russian soldier also later left the dugout due to shelling by Ukrainian artillery. As reported, the positions were later captured by Russian units, but this is not shown in the video.

Ukraine has officially received it's first batch of Mirage 2000-5F fighter jets from France 🇫🇷. While the number delivered has not yet been disclosed, France previously stated that Ukraine would receive at least 6 units before March, so it's assumed that's what has arrived.

The Mirage 2000-F5 will supplement SU-25s and SU-27s in their ground attack role, while F-16s are in the process of replacing Ukraine's fleet of Mig-29s in their air-to-air role.

The Ukrainian army has launched a new February counteroffensive in the Kursk region. This is the second counter offensive of the Ukrainian army, the first in January was previously shown. Fighting is taking place in the area of the settlements of Ulanok, Makhnovka, Konopelka. The goal of the offensive is to enter the rear of Russian troops and preserve the supply lines of the troops. There are no results yet, but there is video of drone attacks. Russian troops are using classic FPV drones and drones "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky", controlled by fiber optic cable. As reported, the drones attacked T-64 tanks, the Wisent 1 MC engineering vehicle, Cougar H armored vehicles, the M113 armored personnel carrier, and the Kozak armored vehicle and other equipment. At the moment, this is not complete data.

I think that Putin would rather bleed Russia to death than acknowledge the failure of his blitzkrieg plan to take over Ukraine.

The promise of an alliance between his autocratic self and an autocratic US president does not look to be materialising.

In retrospect, does Putin think that releasing photos of the wife of the US president in the nude to Russian media was such a clever idea?

High-quality footage of a strike by a Russian FPV drone "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky", controlled via fiber optic cable, on a Ukrainian self-propelled gun Panzerhaubitze 2000. The Pzh 2000 self-propelled gun is equipped with a 155-mm cannon and has been produced in Germany since 1998, information about it is on the channel. The video was filmed near the village of Fedorovka, for an unknown reason, the Pzh 2000 self-propelled artillery gun ended up at the front line, at a distance of 8 km. Perhaps this is due to the lack of long-range active-reactive projectiles V-LAP or M982 Excalibur projectiles. Naturally, the Pzh 2000 self-propelled gun was immediately noticed by Russian drone operators. Judging by the video, the FPV drone "Vandal" struck the aft part of the howitzer, the place where the shells are stored. As a result of an attack by a Russian FPV drone, ammunition exploded in a Ukrainian Pzh 2000 howitzer.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for united support of his army in his annual new year address, without explicitly referring to the war he is waging in Ukraine.

The Kremlin leader hailed his soldiers as "heroes... at the forefront of the fight for truth".

He also referenced economic issues, a key topic for many Russians, and declared 2024 the "year of the family".

The address was a more subdued affair than the previous year's.

Last year, Mr Putin delivered his speech flanked by soldiers and offered stern calls for sacrifice in the name of survival. This year he was back to the traditional backdrop of the Kremlin, alone.

"To everyone who is at a combat post, at the forefront of the fight for truth and justice: You are our heroes, our hearts are with you," he said, adding: "We are proud of you, we admire your courage."

That was as close as Mr Putin got to making mention of the thousands of Russian casualties in the war with Ukraine

On Wednesday[this week], Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a conversation with the region's governor that the situation in Kursk is ‘very difficult’.

Putin needs to decide whether the war is going well or not, I think.

I wait to hear further stories from Putin of how much stronger the Russian economy is compared to how it was 23rd February 2022.

Most economics reporters/analysts I have read believe Putin overruled a central bank 1%-2% base rate rise in December. I have not heard what happened in January, so I guess the rate is still 21%

Inflation figures? The official figures are not credible: most economic analysts I have read estimate inflation to be much higher than the 9.5% reported by the government in January. The lowest rate I have seen estimated by economists is 18%.

If the Russian public are unaware of being duped, all well and good. Duping the public about the state of the Russian economy won't actually improve it, though.

Footage of an incredible breakthrough of a Russian, presumably BMP-2, under attack by Ukrainian drones. It is worth noting that Russian BMPs are often criticized for their weak protection, but even with minor modifications, the BMP can withstand multiple drone attacks, which is confirmed by this video. This is the second video on the channel showing that BMPs equipped with protection can withstand not only RPGs, but also drone attacks. In this case, the BMP-2 is equipped with screens on the sides and a "Mangal", protecting the combat vehicle from ammunition drops from above. The Russian BMP-2 is attacked by Ukrainian FPV drones, two Baba Yaga-type drones also drop ammunition on the BMP. The BMP crew skillfully uses one of the advantages of the combat vehicle, high speed, simultaneously firing suppressive fire. The location of the shooting is not reported, presumably the BMP broke through to the Ukrainian stronghold located in the forest belt. After which, it landed troops and retreated to its original positions.

You must know by now that Russia doesnt give a f...k about those figures,if there is a war to be fought economy is not important.
Same goes for many mostly none ''western'' countries.
If my country has to go to war,it will be the same.

The people trying to keep the Russian economy functioning will certainly care about those figures. Why, if the state of the economy is unimportant during a war?
