This war showed once again that Putin is master of hybrid warfare but very weak in regular warfare.

Using hybrid warfare he captured THREE major regional centers in Ukraine: Sevastopol, Donetsk and Luhansk with nearly zero losses from Russian side.

Using regular warfare with all his army he failed to capture a SINGLE reginal center of Ukraine in 3+ years sacrificing over 200,000 KIA.
There hadn't been any hybrid war until Western world gifted those regions.

This war showed russia is paper tiger with it's helpless army. Russians can just bully weak minorities and weak nations.

This war showed Russia is a weak country.

This war showed Russia is a weak country.

One of the most interesting things over the years was the hype behind putin being a genius, even though it was pointed out how many stupid moves he made in Syria against Turkiye. The bombing of Turkish troops back in 2020 was probably a prime example of how short sighted Putin's actions were. That action basically forced the army into Idlib which saved the current government who rules Syria today, the government that would expel Russia from Syria. All those threats, all those flag games with the PKK, in the end for Russia were a complete and total failure.

Putins mindset is we go in and kill some Turks, this will cause them to retreat and Russia can reclaim the last rebel pocket for Assad. Similar mindset to Ukraine, invade it, 24 hours later claim that you are ready to accept Ukraine's surrender, here we are years later and there is no way out for Russia. I honestly the get impression that Putin sees one option and when that fails he just looks to ride it out.

But really the writing was on the wall that Russia had become a stagnant/regressive power when some EW, cheap drones were able to cause mass havoc against Russian systems in Syria, Libya, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.

It's being reported today that Ukraine is set to receive 2 additional Patriot Missile Defense Batteries. This is more news in the wake of USA 🇺🇸 and Ukraine 🇺🇦 recently signing the mineral deal.

The first battery will come from storage in Israel 🇮🇱 and will be sent along with interceptors. The United States will facilitate the transfer and the battery will be upgraded before arriving in Ukraine.

The second battery will be sent by Greece 🇬🇷 and backfilled by Germany 🇩🇪.

This announcement will bring Ukraine's compliment of Patriot Batteries to 10, and will allow much needed downtime for cyclical maintenance. There no word yet if the two additional batteries are being donated to or purchased by Ukraine.

Big news from the meeting between Czechia 🇨🇿 and Ukraine 🇺🇦.

Due to increased commitments by Canada 🇨🇦, Denmark 🇩🇰, Norway 🇳🇴 and the Netherlands 🇳🇱 among others, the Czech artillery shell initiative will now provide Ukraine 1.8 million large caliber shells in 2025, up from the 1.5 million goal that was originally targeted. Czech President Petr Pavel broke the news today at a joint press conference with Zelenskyy.

Meanwhile, Czechia 🇨🇿 and Ukraine 🇺🇦 have announced the joint creation of an F-16 training school, which will be housed in Czechia and will jointly produce F-16 pilots for both nations. Currently, Ukrainian F-16 pilots are training in USA 🇺🇸, Canada 🇨🇦, Denmark 🇩🇰, Romania 🇷🇴 Britain and 🇬🇧 (phase 1, lead in training).

Britain 🇬🇧 has now transferred all 68 of their retired AS-90 self propelled artillery systems to Ukraine. The units were sent in 4 batches, over multiple years. The Brits are replacing them with Archer and RCH-155 howitzers, which are arriving in batches.

9 of the donated AS90s have been visibly destroyed in Ukraine, with an additional 6 damaged. That leaves approximately 53-59 units in Ukrainian service currently.

- Two Su-30s shot down
- Missiles used AIM-9
- The boat type is Magura V7
$100 million usd worth of modern Russian aircraft shot down in a period of 3 days, using cheap sea drones. It's a shame that only 2 of the pilots died and that it was reported that the other 4 were rescued. Ideally, all 4 would have met their fate. The more experienced Russian pilots that can be taken off the chess board, the better.

Today in his interview with NBC, Trump exhibited an interesting change in rhetoric:

KRISTEN WELKER:
So you think you’re close to a deal? What will Russia have to give up? Because Ukraine, there’s been discussions they will have to give up some of the land that Russia’s illegally claimed.
PRES. DONALD TRUMP:
Russia will have to give up all of Ukraine. Because that’s what they want.
KRISTEN WELKER:
All of Ukraine? Meaning they wouldn’t keep any of the land that they have claimed?
PRES. DONALD TRUMP:
No, no. Russia would have to give up all of Ukraine. Because what Russia wants is all of Ukraine. And if I didn’t get involved, they would be fighting right now for all of Ukraine. Russia doesn’t want the strip that they have now; Russia wants all of Ukraine. And if it weren’t me, they would keep going.

This can obviously be interpreted several ways, not to mention Trump has a track record of completely changing his positions and claiming he never did. However, what is important here is that these statements give cover to Republicans who are pro-Ukrainian but don't want to stick their necks out. He was also asked about the Sanctioning Russia Act, and whether Putin could be "tapping him along".

Russia will have to give up all of Ukraine. Because that’s what they want.

Trump has repeatedly said this, in order to justify his surrender deal. He tries to present his surrender as a victory, in the sense that Russia is giving up the rest of Ukraine, which they would otherwise conquer. So, when Trump wants to broker a peace deal where Russia keeps all the land it has stolen, he tries to present it as if Russia is making a big concession, since it gives up on conquering the remaining part of Ukraine.

It is just the same disgusting talking point that he has presented ever since he was elected. Nothing new in this sense.

After OPEC decided to add more production into a market featuring slowing global economies, oil prices have crashed further. Oil opened down another 4.0%. Russian Urals are trading sub $50 per barrel now, in a further hit to their already stressed economy. With oil prices on the steady decline, Russia's capacity to fund this war without creating major long term damage to other areas of their economy continues to become and issue.

In 2024 Russian oil revenue was $116 Billion usd, approximately 26% of Russian federal budget revenue expenses.

Ukrainian media published footage of the destruction of a Russian Su-30SM aircraft using an AIM-9M Sidewinder missile launched from new Magura V7 naval drones. The video was filmed on May 2 near Crimea, on that day the Ukrainian army carried out a large-scale attack of naval drones and cruise missiles on Crimea and the city of Novorossiysk. The Su-30 aircraft carried out the destruction of Ukrainian cruise missiles. Despite the fact that Russian FPV drones destroyed Ukrainian naval drones. Apparently, they also decided to use the Su-30 to destroy Magura V7 naval drones. To destroy the naval drones, the Su-30 presumably descended to a low altitude using a 30-mm GSh-301 aircraft cannon. After that, the Su-30 fell within the range of the AIM-9M missile. AIM-9M Sidewinder air-to-air missiles have been produced in the United States since 1983, their range of hitting targets when launched from the ground is up to 7-8 km, the altitude of hitting targets is up to 3-4 kilometers. It is worth noting this is the first hit by the Ukrainian Magura V7 naval drone of a Su-30 aircraft. The pilots were reportedly rescued. The use of the Su-30SM to hit naval drones indicates that the defense of the Crimean coast is insufficiently developed.

Footage of a naval battle, Russian Project 03160 Raptor boats, Project 02510 BK-16 landing craft, with Ukrainian Magura V5 sea drones. The location and date of filming are not reported, presumably off the coast of Crimea. Technical information about the Russian Raptor boat is in the link to the video in the comments to the video. The battle uses Ukrainian Magura V5 sea drones armed with Soviet-made R-73 missiles designed to destroy air targets. Russian servicemen use Kord and PKM machine guns to destroy sea drones, and also use the RPG-26 grenade launcher.

The first case of the destruction of the Ukrainian MLRS M142 HIMARS by the Russian FPV drone "VT-40" has been recorded. The video was filmed near the village of Rusin Yar in the Donetsk direction. For an unknown reason, the Ukrainian MLRS M142 HIMARS came close to the front line, according to some sources at a distance of 10 to 30 km. Naturally, the HIMARS MLRS firing was immediately noticed. The Ukrainian MLRS HIMARS launcher was tracked on the march and hit by a drone. The M142 HIMARS MLRS was developed in 1996 by the American company Lockheed Martin, the cost of one installation is about 5 million dollars.

Footage of five Ukrainian Kozak armored vehicles being destroyed by Russian FPV drones. The video was filmed in the vicinity of the village of Velyka Pisarevka, Sumy Oblast, Ukraine. A temporary underground garage was set up in this location. Judging by the video, all the Kozak armored vehicles were new and had no crews. Since the underground shelter had no doors, the military equipment was spotted by drone operators and all of it was destroyed one by one by drones.
