Rostec supplies Russian military with UBIM 3-in-1 armored engineering vehicle

This vehicle will play a key role in penetrating enemy defenses and supporting offensive operations

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. The latest multipurpose armored engineering vehicle (UBIM) has been accepted into service with the Russian engineering troops, Izvestia reported, citing the press service of the Uralvagonzavod Group (UVZ, part of the Rostec state tech corporation).
"The multipurpose armored engineering vehicle (UBIM) has been accepted into service with the Russian engineering troops. <…> Streamlined production processes and consistent deliveries of combat vehicles to the troops have allowed us to expand our product line with engineering and special-purpose equipment, in particular the UBIM, which the customer has accepted into service," UVZ stated.
Uralvagonzavod representatives specified that the UBIM is designed to significantly improve the efficiency of engineering units, including operations on the front lines. This vehicle will play a key role in penetrating enemy defenses and supporting offensive operations.
In June 2025, the group’s press service also reported that what makes the UBIM unique is its three-in-one capability, serving as: an armored repair and recovery vehicle, an obstacle-clearing vehicle, and a mine-clearing vehicle. Its high level of protection and mobility make it a versatile tool for accompanying troops in conflicts of any intensity

Russia's Knyaz Vandal drone upgraded with new, improved tech

The developer said the Knyaz Vandal of Novgorod is already "number one among drones in terms of the ratio of successful kills to the total number of sorties"

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. The efficiency of the Knyaz Vandal of Novgorod FPV drone has been increased by 5% thanks to the use of new types of fiber optics and cable winding options, the general designer of the Knyaz Vandal of Novgorod engineering team told TASS.
"The Vandal’s current upgrading means painstaking work down to the last detail: we are working extensively on new types of fiber optics and winding options, as communication failures remain one of the most dire and costly problems. In adverse weather, they are the most common cause of operators not being able to complete missions. Therefore, any prevented fiber optic damage means a successful flight," the general designer said. According to him, the Knyaz Vandal of Novgorod is already "number one among drones in terms of the ratio of successful kills to the total number of sorties," but the latest upgrades "will increase its effectiveness by another 5%," the general designer said.
The specialist noted the significance of this indicator. "At first glance, this isn’t much. But in the logic of military economics, this is a huge figure. Five percent means dozens of preserved drones, hundreds of completed missions, and a significant change in the cost-benefit balance," the general designer emphasized.
The fiber-optic Knyaz Vandal drone was developed by employees at the Ushkuynik Research and Production Center (Novgorod Region). The drone was put into operation in August 2024, after the Ukrainian armed forces launched an incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region. The drone can resist electronic warfare and perform various missions.

No idea if the sending 2000 marines at an island is BS but I pray for US ground troops that Iranian ground troops don't have too many drone operators.

Work on 90 nm lithography machine starting in 2026. Sounds like they are ahead of schedule.

The discussion on /k/ is both intriguing and revealing. Supporters of Ukraine are no longer defending Trump following his actions that disarmed NATO and Ukraine in relation to the Iran conflict. It is notable that MAGA calling others brown for highlighting Trump’s disarmament of European nations predominantly of white nations to use stockpile for the Iran war. Defending Trump attempt to acquire Greenland as a strategy to counter China, despite offering no defense for Trump’s requests for assistance from China due to his alienation of NATO allies.

I’d gladly pay more for gas to see Russia defeated.

And in the last few days, Ukrainian attacks are doing huge damage to Russia’s export infrastructure in the Baltic sea.
So long as Hormuz is not free to all to navigate Russia can probably sell a very large amount of crude at a high price - if it can pass it through its export terminals. Russia was using its fleet of tankers to store unsaleable crude to maintain production. Not being trapped in the Gulf, that crude (100+ million barrels) can be delivered to greatly boost Kremlin revenues short term.

I think that Russia is heading for 'defeat' in the sense that prospects of occupying much more of Ukraine don't look good, troop losses reportedly now exceed recruitment, its economy continues on a downhill path and finances will continue on a rapid downhill path when crude falls in price. I think that is going to be quite some time, not soon afte the Iran war stops.

Doing huge damage to Russia’s export infrastructure seems a very good Ukrainian tactic to me. Specially when the price of crude is very high and may stay high for months. Even if an attack only reduces a terminal's capacity for weeks, it denies Russia sales at a very high price. By the time capacity returns to normal, crude price may have fallen a lot. And Ukraine can repeat attacks before rebuilding capacity is complete.

This is the only complaints I have about this thread currently.
Excluding me and Soldier30 this thread completely lacks news information about new or improving military technology to support Ukraine. It's completely weird to me, I mean yeah, I get it that for 4 years that Russia is constantly doomed but where is the talk here that Ukraine will get new drone technology, missile technology, newer equipment, etc, etc it's like you guys are not passionate enough to think they will actually win.

I am basically complaining that we don't have any military technology war geeks that are supportive of Ukraine to talk here. Garry use to be one of them but he has received some kind of trauma to go from ukraine will win to russia win and stopped posting here, Relic talks about how much military equipment Ukraine receives but doesn't talk about the purpose of that equipment in how it will help Ukraine against Russia.
