Russian shadow fleet tankers are heading towards the English Channel despite Sir Keir Starmer’s threats to use the military to seize the ships.

The Belgorod and Kolomna were seen in the North Sea on Friday, moving south towards the UK’s eastern coastline.

Both vessels were sanctioned by the UK in 2024 as part of efforts to disrupt the Kremlin’s shadow fleet.

just because Zelensky, Budanov and Ukraine's defense ministers are jews means they have priority over Israel. I dont think US forces have taken any countermeasures or tactics to deal with enemies that use drones which I am pretty sure Ukraine and Russia are not the only ground forces now that use drones.

Russian designers, in response to requests from military personnel, have developed the "Prizrak" interceptor drone. The interceptor drone was created as part of the "Prizrak" project. A unique feature of the interceptor drone is that it can be launched not only from a catapult but also by hand. The performance characteristics of the "Prizrak" interceptor drone have not yet been disclosed; however, it is known that the drone is modular. This architecture makes the drone extremely versatile. Operators can flexibly modify the drone's configuration to suit specific missions, installing the necessary warheads and swapping out batteries and cameras. The interceptor drone pursues its target automatically and is ready for operation at any time of day. Equipped with thermal imagers and night vision devices, the "Prizrak" interceptor drone is capable of effectively performing missions even in poor weather. When technical details become available, they will be added to the video description.

FPV drones destroyed an Abrams tank and a Ukrainian convoy in Grishino. Footage has emerged of an attempted counteroffensive by the Ukrainian 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skala" in the Pokrovsk sector. An armored group consisting of a BMP-2, an M1A1 Abrams tank, an M113 armored personnel carrier, an M1117 armored personnel carrier, several armored vehicles, and an infantry group attempted to break through near Grishino. According to the video, all the armored vehicles were destroyed by FPV drones. The video has been shortened. Fifty-three Ukrainian soldiers were killed; the footage has been removed from the video.

Looks like things may be changing in the ground war.

Ukraine has devastated Russia’s oil export capacity over the past week as its ground forces have stopped Russian advances in their tracks and reclaimed occupied territory.

According to one estimate, Ukraine has halved the Russian rate of advance in the past three months.

I believe Russia was storing 100 million or more barrels of unsold crude on tankers when the Iran war started, which should be easily sold now for a high price. Once that crude is delivered, tankers will take time to get back to Russia. When they do, Russia may have a significantly lower capacity to load crude from its terminals, so revenue from exports may fall greatly after a bumper month or two.

FP-2 drones can be equipped with Starlink terminals and have a range of up to 2,000 km. It's unclear from the video whether the drone actually struck the ship. The drones likely flew in a formation, assuming they were controlled via a mesh network, as indicated by the launch of an air defense missile from the ship at a high-altitude target.

Footage of Russian Krasnopol-M precision-guided missiles striking Ukrainian army temporary deployment sites. The Krasnopol missile was fired from a Russian 2A65 Msta-B 152mm towed howitzer. The video was filmed in the village of Ilyinovka in the Donbas.

The war has not gone well for Russia since the autumn of 2022 when Russia was forced to retreat from much of the territory it occupied earlier in the year. Over the ensuing years Russia has made little progress in occupying territory.

Putin's refusal to recognise that he cannot defeat Ukraine while channelling an increasingly large proportion of Russian state income is an ongoing problem. I think that like Trump in Iran, Putin's personality prevents him being prepared to face failure, be realistic and cease hostilities.

The longer this goes on, the more it damages Russia and the Russian people. My hope for the long term is that Putin persists in waging a pointless war since the more he weakens Russia, the longer it will take for Russia to be in a position to attack a neighbouring country again.

Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, reported problems with Ukraine's military-industrial complex. According to him, Ukraine is almost entirely dependent on Western supplies and technologies for drone production. All components for drones produced in Ukraine, including software, advanced defense technologies, and even the 3D printers used to produce them, are all foreign-made. Budanov also reported that Ukraine has not built a single new tank during the war. Regarding Ukraine's missile program, Budanov acknowledged "serious nuances." He claimed that Ukraine's "allies" are deliberately not selling key components and assemblies to Kyiv. "And we lost the ability to produce our own missiles, exactly 20 years ago. We used to be able to do it, and then we lost it," Budanov said. It's worth noting that problems in Ukraine's military-industrial complex were discussed back in 2022, when it was reported that without Western weapons and financial assistance, the Ukrainian Armed Forces would be able to fight for no more than six months.
