The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran welcomed the transfer of prototypes of the Neptune complex to the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine​

Prototypes of the Ukrainian coastal mobile missile system with anti-ship missiles RK-360MTs "Neptune" today, March 15, were transferred to the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The previously announced transfer of Neptune prototypes was welcomed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran. According to him, these complexes are manufactured under a state contract between the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the State Enterprise "Kyiv State Design Bureau" Luch and will significantly strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces in the Azov-Black Sea region. The relevant unit has already been formed in the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

- Thanks to the joint work of the Defense Ministry and domestic enterprises, it was possible to produce a new generation of weapons that will increase the deterrent potential and increase Ukraine's influence at sea. Our homework is to lock the Neptunes, missile and patrol boats, and corvettes into a single defense system that can repel the enemy from the sea, Andriy Taran stressed.

A new branch of the military will appear in 2026. They will include three divisions of the Neptune coastal missile complex.

In Ukraine, in the next four years, they plan to create a new branch of the military - coastal missile forces. This was stated by the commander of the Navy Rear Admiral Alexei Neizhpapa, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reports.

"A new branch of the armed forces, the coastal missile forces, is under development. They will be formed by 2026. They will include three divisions of the Neptune coastal missile complex," Neizhpapa said.

According to him, by the second quarter of next year, the first division of this modern complex will be fully formed, which will soon be on alert.
